- Update on my Flame trees grown from seed, they are now about 1 year 9 months old. Some of the video was shot in January but most of it is from April. All 5 trees are alive, one isn't doing all that great but I have hope.

Royal Poincianas are surprisingly resilient trees that are easy to grow, I am growing one of them from seed here in Lithuania (Eastern Europe, hardiness zone 4-6~, we have lots of rain, cold winters and not much sun, except during the summer). It's in regular potting mix, in a tiny pot, and it's doing just fine. It's quite small, but has healthy leaves and a surprisingly strong and thick trunk.
It must be some work to keep it alive in Lithuania! Good luck.
Beautiful bonsai tree! Thank you for sharing! Stay connected! Have a good week! +5👍
Thank you!
They're looking good pal
Thank you! If I ever try again I'll have to remember how quickly they grow and put more movement into them earlier.
Hi! I have a couple seedlings and I’ve been looking everywhere for an answer but haven’t had any luck. What age do you start to cut or manipulate it’s growth?
I haven't done much with these other than grow and nurse back to health after the hurricane. If I could go back in time I would've put some movement into them with wire when they were much younger it is too late now. If you do just remember they grow quickly and watch for the wire to bite in soon.
Hello my friend. Thank you for sharing
Thank you!
Very nice flamboyant tree 👍
Thank you!
Aussie Dave here, cool, you pronounced poinciana correctly 😂. I had 5 from seed, only 2 survived 😮. Mine are only 2 years old.
I will have to keep a better eye on them when it dips in the 30s F.
Are these grown in northeast?
Some people do but they need to be protected from temperatures below 40° F. I would consider a grow light for the winter too.
Koleksi bonsai yang indah..
Thank you!
This is the official Tree of Key West. One of the most beautiful trees in the world.
