    Wilt is the most dominant center ever, no doubt about it. Wilt could do it all and no other player has averaged at least 30 points and over 20 rebounds in a season. Wilt averaged 30 and 20 for his CAREER.

      First off let me say this is my wife's account so... I saw the last half of Wilds career. I did not like him at the time but his athleticism was unbelievable, guys like Jordan aren't even close on the dominance scale, greatest center ever? Hell, he's easily the greatest player ever and that's with the 50s and 60s training and nutrition. Bring him up with today's and there isn't even any debate.

      Yes. A lot of fans harp on Shaq. Yes, Shaq was dominate, but his best season stats were noticeably lower than Wilt's Career averages. I checked all of that after watching a "Greatest Peeks" video about Shaq. I haven't checked Hakeem's stats, but I would guess the same might be true of him.

      @@user-iv9er3nr6z Russell, himself said that Wilt had scored 60 points against him, in one game, and had gotten 55 rebounds at another time. I believe that Wilt averaged more than 30 points against the Celtics and Russell, but haven't looked it up. He did, after all, average 30 points for his whole career, even with, and after he purposefully slacked off on scoring.

    There are a lot of player qualities that can be argued about in the "Greatest of all time" debate, some, with good reason, some not. The most objective, and inarguable qualities are official statistics, which, all told, both ends of the court, Wilt Chamberlain's stats are untouchable.

    I stumbled across your you tube videos while searching something and literally accidentally started watching one- I’ve never seen an NBA game in my life. I now watch all your videos while doing housework, listen while I’m at work (I’m an RN) and spout random NBA facts constantly, and now seek out old NBA games and watch.
    Just wanted to say thanks for introducing a new thing to me and in a way that I understand, and also appreciate a new perspective.
    And my coworkers are baffled why I’m now talking about Larry Bird constantly!
    Cheers!

    33 wins in a row and a championship happened because of Wilt’s rebounding, defense and passing. He proved that you could dominate without scoring. Great teams need unselfish role players. That’s why the Celtics have won so many championships. Getting offensive rebounds was a key.

      What Bill Russell proved is that great teams win championships. Or at least teams that are better than the rest, which is all the 90s Bulls were. They weren't good enough to win a single title if you had moved them back ten years.

      Will was an incredible athlete but he pulled the most unbelievable choke job I ever saw in sports.He actually limped off the the court with 3 minutes to go in game 7 of the NBA finals.Bill Russell said only a broken leg would cause him to do that.When he tried to come back into the game his coach wouldn't put him back in and I don't blame him.He criticizes Kareem but he played the 4th quarter of game 6 of the NBA finals on a severely sprained ankle.

    • @channeljan8529
      @channeljan8529 Місяць тому +1

      @@marckellough529 Broken leg? Bill Russell didn't even play game 5 and hardly much of game 6 in the 1958 finals because he sprained his ankle which caused his team to lose both those games (by 2 points and 1 point) and the championship. Why don't you talk about that? Don't know how you could say what happened in game 7 in 1969 as a "choke job" by Wilt but then give Russell a free pass. And there wasn't 3 minutes to go when Wilt left the floor, there was still 5.20 left. It was around the 3 minute mark when Wilt asked to go back in. Russell knew he was wrong and completely out of line with those comments because he was being a total hypocrite using double standards that he ended up apologizing to Wilt later on.

      The game doesn't work like that.Cunningham was a key factor.The difference maker off the bench who neutralized Havlicek off the bench for the Celtics.Philly had a formula they used all year.The team couldn't suddenly change their style overnight to accommodate the fact Cunningham wasn't there.That's my assessment of it.Obviously Cunningham was a big part of Phillys success.Not having him changed everything.
