This is One of the BEST Videos I have seen when working with Concrete. The worker really knows his SKILL Exceptionally well. I learned so much watching this video. It is entertaining and educational. Giving it More than 10 PLUS STARS.
I installed tile for 20 years in Toronto, but watching concrete being installed is very satisfying. Maybe I will get a job doing this. I am now doing my own walkway at home and this video was very helpful. Thank you !
This is another great video on concrete . There are so many details involved with concrete , you can never learn everything by watching one video . If you are just getting started in concrete , ya gotta watch many . One extra thing I learned from this video is the difference between a steel and magnesium float . However , I would like to know even more about what makes each of these operations different .
Not a bad job, for others wanting to learn how to finish concrete this is where you should practice with your hand trowels. Also allow the concrete to dry before brooming. Thanks for posting vid!
How thick does my gravel base need to be for a 30 foot x 4 foot walkway at my house ? I am using fiber reinforced concrete from a truck delivery. I’m already 8 inches deep from the soil to the final height. Thank you ! I am in Barrie Ontario.
Nicely done. I just wanted some inspiration for a walk up job I’m about to do for the first time. The tips help and I’m looking forward to getting some new tools 😬
Yes, to make a proper base you need to remove top layer soil(black dirt) and put 3 better 4" of gravel, water it and compact it with a plate tamper. But it will crack anyway if you not gonna put your control joints(cuts). Good luck!
Ideally you need to remove all black dirt or top soil from where you going to place concrete slab or sidewalk. Than spread and compact 3-4" layer of sand or better road crush(grovel). Put your forms up(Use 2X4) and space your 10M rebar at 16inch on center. Good luck!
How do I build a concrete form for between two of the segments that were cut ? I'm having to build them for my new job and there are only a few places in the sidewalk we have to redo
My front sidewalk is sunken into the ground and is lower than the street. Every time it rains. Water pools on my sidewalk and property. Along with a new sidewalk I need new drainage pipes behind my railroad tie wall in order to drain the water away from my sidewalk and into the street. 🙏🏾 I can do this project before the end of the summer.
Great vid thanks. Music is a little obtrusive. What about the foundation? How did you pack and finish that? What about the forms? Anything to know about that? Thx.
Very nice but you should have put some stone underneath before the pour bc in PA and up in the northern states if you just pour it on dirt it will buckle and crack and shift and in a year or 2 it will look like shit
i have done my own concrete in the past and am trying to achieve a better looking finish. im using the quikrete type of bagged concrete, is that my problem ? any suggestions?
what is the measurement of the wood your are using to create the shape of sidewalk? also how far apart do you create the lines? This video was very helpful
I'm keen diyer and going to try do this myself but do not have all the tools are they really needed or could you just use hand trowel if it going to be broomed
Yes, but larger tools are just faster obviously concrete has a drying time and large tools let's you do more at one time but a hand tool will perform the same just not as efficient
Hi I keep seeing oval indents in many concrete structures around my city. They seem to be by accident. Can you explain what can cause this? I have pictures if you’d like
Did you mix that guy hand? Or is the truck just dumping it into the barrel? Beautiful work. I’ve never seen someone deal with concrete that smoothly, looked like there was little to no rocks in your way. How many guys it take to do this job?
very good instruction!! I feel like I could tackle a small walk. One think though some of the video was not filmed in the focal point of what you were doing...was a helmet cam being used?
8:23. The street don't look like it but I must ask cause the back of the houses are connected. Is this a new urbanist community that you are building? Either way nice video. I found your video cause I wanted to find the color of a new sidewalk. Why do sidewalks and such turn yellow when they age or was it an old standard that is no longer use?
@@Take_And_Make , you have inspired me to do my own walkway. I just busted up the old one. I am going to follow your procedure and get my walkway done. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
AMAZING video! Thanks for your instructions. And thanks again for putting details in the description. Take care!
You are very welcome!
Thanks!

Dam that was alot of area to cover with wheelbarrow no cement truck. Great work
Excellent video and explanation. I've not seen many people tell the difference between bull float and Fresno. Good job bro!
Glad you enjoyed it!

As a beginner, I would have liked to have seen the forms being set and the rebar made & placed.
have your stakes below the level of the forms so you arent having to work around them.
I was thinking the exact same thing when the video began.
That’s what I forget also how to do the form and level it
Super clear and useful video, thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial. I'm replacing a section of sidewalk tomorrow and this is just what I needed.
You are welcome!

Amazing work, a true expert in the field, thanks for the video!
Thanks JC!
I'm glad you find it useful!
Nice work hate that some guys make it look so easy but its really not that easy 👍
The learning process is pretty tough, once you get it, it's not that bad.
I have never done this before, after watching this video I have decided to hire a pro to do it.
Just be aware of fake pros out there man! A lot of guys would tell ya, that ar e professionals, but could be a newbie
Excellent, clear and useful video. Thank you.
T.Y Sir, I just poured 2 slabs to park my riding mower on thanks to your help.
I am very glad you were able to use some of my tips!
Cheers!
Amazing Concrete video for real bro iv seen them all. Please keep them coming

You’re at pretty good depth right there, put 4” of gravel and 4” of concrete. Good luck!

Very nice work. I need to hire you to come do my sidewalk.
Whew... I feel bad for all handling the wheelbarrows... That's a lot of cement in one day. Great job on all of it!
Hahaha, we only wheeled 40-50 feet of it, whereever pump couldn't reach. That was a big pour!
Video rất hay và hữu ích cho xây dựng. Cám ơn bạn đã chia sẻ.

What do you think about putting gravel under the concrete to prevent cracks. Is it necessary?
Yes, to make a proper base you need to remove top layer soil(black dirt) and put 3 better 4" of gravel, water it and compact it with a plate tamper.
But it will crack anyway if you not gonna put your control joints(cuts).
Good luck!
Do you have comments on fibermesh vers rebar in driveway - camper parking pad?
You should be OK, I would tie rebar on the perimeter tho.
Hi. I need to improve the soil. Any suggests? Some specs for rebars, please, size and spacing. Thanks so much! Great job
Ideally you need to remove all black dirt or top soil from where you going to place concrete slab or sidewalk. Than spread and compact 3-4" layer of sand or better road crush(grovel). Put your forms up(Use 2X4) and space your 10M rebar at 16inch on center. Good luck!

Would wider edgers make it easier to hold flat ? Nice job.
Yes it would! But could be done with these as well

Good luck with your project, Trev!
How long after the fresno its done, should i do the brooming?
It depends how heavy you gonna go on the broom, if you go light you can broom right after fresno
so big! - great job!
Hi, thank you for your video. How do you know at what distance to place the skate cuts? thank you.
You are welcome! It depends how wide your sidewalk, if it's around 3-5 feet, put your cut every 5 feet
Great vid thanks. Music is a little obtrusive. What about the foundation? How did you pack and finish that? What about the forms? Anything to know about that? Thx.
Maybe one day I will make a video on how to prep it.
where did you get the woods to hold the concrete? NEW TO THIS

as someone who wants to try making a small sidewalk...can I use other tools I might already have to trowel and edge?
How long do you wait to take off forms?
Great video, thanks.

Which macadam fraction do you use in your concrete?
Tks
This is great, I wonder if you can rent those tools. I'm only gonna make 2 paths ever.
Best way to buy them used, or buy new and sell them later

What kind of concrete did you use?
25MPA Duramix

Esse trabalho é onde
Do you need all those carbon and aluminium floats for this job? I only have a trowel and edger.... Will my diy path have a terrible finish!
It is nice to have them, yes. But with a proper skill you can get it done with magnessium float
Mag float, finishing trowel, edger, groover, broom.
Hi I keep seeing oval indents in many concrete structures around my city. They seem to be by accident. Can you explain what can cause this? I have pictures if you’d like
You can send me an email gretskyi@gmail.com
Cut your reinforcing stakes to the same height as the forms then you can float the whole thing without having to go round the stakes.
Yes, but then it's pain in the ass to strip, plus we reusing pegs.
good stuff thanks man!
You bet!
Does the Russian dance music help with durability?
1000%!!!
Lifts the rebar only to walk back on it?
lift too high , then readjust

It was delivered to us mixed, we pumped most of it.

how much money does it cost per square
Thank you so much buddy👍🏼
You welcome!
How much time you have to work (screed, bull-float, edge, broom finish) on the concrete before it dry?
All concrete sets up differently, depends on the mix and weather, the key is to work as fast as yo can, especially on the hot summer day!
@@Take_And_Make Ok. Thank you very much!!
You bet!
How long was that
Can't remember for sure, 2 6 or 8plex long with bunch of risers and some curb. It was a very long day!

I am glad you got some inspiration and confidence that you could do it yourself!
Let me know how you did!
How often do you put the cuts in the concrete for the cracks ? Amazing job BTW
It all depends on how wide is your piece, for a sidewalk put it every 5 feet, for a driveway every 10
