Awesome video. I for one vote for the rebar. Wondering why you didn't use a little more substrate? I am planning on 4". Would 5/8 minus be good for substrate?
I guess I don’t understand the need for a rebar grid in a sidewalk. That’s a lot of extra work cutting those and overkill for something that will just be walked on. If it was a driveway, I could understand the rebar grid. Those 2x4 stakes are overkill too. Try 1x3s - so much easier to pound in the ground, and hold up the forms just fine. You guys do solid work though! 👍🏼
Love your work, also to dare showing it on YT, - but never connect new concrete with old concrete, llike u do at 9 min. The house has settled 10 years ago. The new sidewalk will probably sink 5/16, or 1cm in the next years, so they should be seperate. / Also if and when u drill into foundations the hole should never go down, but up so water wont accumulate in it. - Other than that awesome work. - Greetings from Norway.
@@Take_And_Make where are these projects that you guys Make 2 x stakes and you don't finish the face of steps , do you not have conc pumps. , What's up
I would see those hard angles in the turn every time I walked on it and it would drive me crazy. To anyone watching this, don't do that. Use some ¼in plywood. Soak it in water and bend it, back it up with some pins, and round that corner off. Craftsmanship is important.
That was my first thought "what a waste of wood". Its making them work so much harder too but I suppose if its a one time DIY it's better to just do it their way because when would they even use the pins again? Idunno I was always told you use the right tools and do it the right way. There's never a reason to reinvent the wheel.
So bad 👎 forming. Next day you will remove those 2x4s ur making a hole and shifting the ground that sidewalk is cracked I bet today🤣 Get some France steel pickets
Man, I worked up a sweat watching you guys wheelbarrow that dirt in.
It wasn't that bad actually. Way more hand work when we prep basements
Those pegs look sturdy ,remember that u got to get them out .lol nice job .

Ground shifts. Keeps it all intact. That is the purpose of rebar
Do you 45 your sidewalk so you can get the wheelbarrow around the corner.
nice video when is part2 coming out?
Next Friday I think
45 edges look real nice. Im gonna start doing that . But wow using only 2x4's? We use 2x6 . Concrete in canada gotaa be mininum 6".. nice.jobs though.
Who told you such nonsense? 4” is min for sidewalks, even driveways.

hi, i am the first medal you can.
Anyone else think the guy in the red flannel shirt is less than enthused to be doing this?

We offered customer rounded corners he requested straight angles only.
Rounded corners are out of date . The 45 corners are way better . It looks more modern .
👍👍👍
Why don’t you guys use steel stakes so it doesn’t take two men to drive them?
We ended up buying some.
Takes time to save up for the right tools for the job.
U guys need to invest in some pins

The sound of silence would drive me crazy . Do they talk? Atleast play some music. What a boring crew of 2
