I just made 3 of these, setting them out tonight because they are killing off my chickens. I was just wondering what you trap them for? Is there a market for weasle fur?

a small market yes, many tend to set them around main traps for say raccoon body gripping, marten or bobcat where weasels tend to steal the bait and even set off the big traps resulting in no main catches. They are also beginner friendly animals to trap as its easy and not much to it!
Putting hardware cloth on a hole in back panel, any advantages?
I don't see it having any disadvantages by anymeans. As the wind blows through the box they'd be able to smell the meat easier. I put the lure on the lid of the box, so it wouldn't have any effect there. If I were going to do anything I'd just drill like three 3/8" holes near the top of the back end panel. Seems simpler and quicker. I'm sure others may disagree.
