Wow!! I've just discovered Blue Rodeo. These guys are fantastic! I live in New York 90 minutes from Canada and they never play them here. Been a Rush fan for 40 years, absolutely Love The Hip and now Blue Rodeo! Great music, Great people, and Great beer in Canada!!
I'm Australian, but most of my family are Canadian. I've been visiting them regularly since 1984 and this song takes me back there more than any other. The audience singing along is gold. I love it.
The audience looks so happy, they're not screaming so loud nobody can hear the actual music, they're all just enjoying the music, enjoying singing it, enjoying the whole song, concert and life in that moment. In short, this is my perfect idea of "at peace". Love this band.
Being there, for this, was incredible! Goosebumps while it was happening & goosebumps hearing this moment in time; all these years later. ❤️ Blue Rodeo is a Canadian treasure. 🇨🇦
Good Lord, I love, LOVE this band and have for a few decades now. A slice of Canadian genius and beauty served to me on a silver platter here in Kansas City.
was at the concert in Halifax November of last year. They saved this song for dead last and it was the same reaction. Everyone was singing together. It was cool. Thanks Blue Rodeo. You made it a great night.
As a bass player myself since 1985 and have played guitar since 1975 i must say blue rodeos bass player is incredible. as the bassist he absolutely propels this band.I Will be a huge Blue Rodeo for the rest of my days!!! This is too me one of the greatest songs EVER written!!!!!!!!!!
Blue Rodeo played Interstellar Rodeo in Winnipeg in 2015, closing the three-day festival on the final night, a Sunday in late July. They closed their set with this song, the audience singing the first verse just like in this video. It was a beautiful, cloudless evening, the sun was just setting over the Forks in downtown Winnipeg, the stage was framed by the Museum of Human Rights just behind it, the moon was out...I remember thinking that this was THE quintessential Canadian moment, and that it would never get better than this.
There is no other song like this, especially for any Canadian. Powerful, wonderful, sad and frekin Canadian. Rock on, Blue Rodeo. I have just introduced the tune to a new dear friend
No, there isn't sadness in Blue Rodeo's music. Just bitter-sweet memories, a bit of melancholia with a slight touch of outer and inner greyness. That's it. Neil Young and Blue Rodeo, the best and the highest points of Canadian music.
Thank you uploader and UA-cam for giving me music that I was too busy working to get to ,missed all the great concerts, never went to one, got the best seat in the house tho, even my neighbors are listening 😂😂
Thanks for posting!!! Nice-sounding video of a great live performance. Awesome work, Blue Rodeo!!! Well sung at the beginning by the audience in Halifax!!
Was part of this at the Jube in Calgary 2016. What a feeling being there and all of us getting to sing their classic. Great band, great concert and a real Canadian treasure!
I DONT DOUBT CANADA HAS MORE MUSICAL ACTS THAN OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS SOUTH OF THE BORDER. BUT MUST SAY,MUSIC HAS NO BORDERS NOR VISAS NECESSARY ONLY ONE BIG HAPPY MUSICAL CALLED THE GREAT SOUNDS OF US & THE US OF A.

Way back when, Rolling Stone Magazine had these guys on the cover with the caption " The Next Great American Band Is Canadian"
At one point before they found their success they moved to New York thinking they'd have a better chance there. Eventually they came back to Toronto.
I feel sad to hear that. I've loved this band for so long...glad you found them ♥
I'm so glad you discovered Canada even more. Make it your bucket list to watch them at least once.
Check out Matt Mays. Another Canadian band likely unheard of in the US.

Just got hooked into Blue Rodeo… as a 30 year old Canadian I thought it was my civic duty to give’r a try. Man I’m glad I did.

we bass players are the core. lots of people dont hum guitar riffs they hum basslines.
This song hits hard for all Canadians, just like Bobcaygeon, Underwhelmed, or I Will Give You Anything. Keeps us together as a nation.

Nice but I want to hear Blue Rodeo
1:09 Rosanne Barr
ah ah . yeah thats it
I forgot
HEY IS THAT FREDDY GRUGER ON SLIDE
Blue Rodeo Canadas answer to the Eagles.
:)
Greg is abusing the power of having the crowd sing for him. It's like dipping a chip: one verse and then end it.
I actually don't like the audience singing in on this song. It is my absolute favourite and I want to hear the boys sing it!!!
Rather not hear a crowd of non singers sing.
Greg Keelor & Jim Cuddy the Lennon & McCartney of country rock!
Maybe Frey/Henley
Or Bachman/Cummings.
