    why are prices so freaking expensive? Even in Europe, nowhere we charge 50eur for a museum... even Le Louvre is 22eur ?!
    Feels like this city is just a huge tourist trap..

    Hi guys, absolutely love your channel and vibe. Also the istanbul guide is uh-may-zin. Is there a Spa (or a particular masseuse) you could please recommend that's relatively central and not silly tourist prices? I want my elderly parents to have a relaxing hour or so being pampered to help put them at ease during the day when I have my big surgery in a couple of weeks :).

    Hi...i am a big fan of your channel....need to ask you a very important question.....can I bring my drone...a DJI mini 4 pro which weigh less than 250g? do i need any special permit?

    • @WaypointofView
      @WaypointofView  5 місяців тому

      I cannot say for sure what is and is not allowed so don’t quote me but based on what I have read it sounds like a permit is not required if the drone is under 500g. Not sure if those rules are different depending on if you are a citizen or a foreigner either so like I said, we are not authorities on this subject so we cannot give you any advice on what is acceptable.

    Great video,
    The good thing is that Americans no longer need a visa, no visa fees.
    Looks like hotels are more expensive than a year ago
    Cheers

    What is the best way to get tickets for Topkapi and Hagai Sophia only?

    • @WaypointofView
      @WaypointofView  6 місяців тому +1

      We have always just gone when they open and purchased the tickets in person (usually a little early around 8:30 to go ahead and get in line). Both sites can get busy and they are most quiet when they first open at 9am. A lot of the online ticket sales seem to require booking scheduled tours and that is really not necessary. Both sites have audio guides!

    • @WaypointofView
      @WaypointofView  6 місяців тому +1

      Also we don’t recommend doing both in one day because it is a lot but if that is your goal the ticket counters are less that 5 min apart, you could buy your ticket to Hagia Sophia then walk over to the ticket desk to Topkapi palace and get that ticket too. Then you have both tickets early in the morning and you can choose which one to do first

    So do we need to have euros with us in Istanbul?

    • @WaypointofView
      @WaypointofView  6 місяців тому +1

      They are just setting the prices with a stable currency but any of these places take credit card. There is no need to carry Euros here.

    • @desadness
      @desadness 6 місяців тому +1

      If there is any reason to have euros with you, which I actually suggest, is because as lira is constantly on the fall, day by day, you're better off changing small amounts of euros every few days here rather than abroad as prices are better in local doviz (exchange stores) which are to be found almost in every corner. I'm here now and have been for the past 2 weeks and have been doing all of the above without regret and have been changing 100-150 euros for 2 of us every 2-3 days and prices are to our benefit.
