  • This is a quickie video!
I show you how to make dichroic eyes. They can be snake eyes or cat eyes.
I made several using a wide variety of dichroic glass.

I have added some of these bails I used to my Amazon shop.

That is really neat! Thanks for sharing. I would love to use this to make glass eyes for my sculptures etc. So the black comes from where you ground the dichro away? Could put some frit in there or small pieces of black scrap too though yeah? That sped up grinding at the end took me back to my childhood visits to the dentist.. all I had to do was close my eyes *laughs* - Heidi

Hi Susan. I'm enjoying watching your fusing tips. I blow glass and like to incorporate fusing. Do you have any tips to prevent kiln paper from sticking to the glass? I recently ran a mosaic fused pattern from glass shards on a layer of heavy kiln paper. I was so disappointed that half the paper stuck to the glass. Washed off easy but was hoping to get more than one firing out of that $$$ stuff. When I make pendants I like to fuse copper or brass wire into the piece for a bail. Wonder if you ever try that. Thanks!

I liked that you used different bails to show us. Where do you get your bails? Thanks again

I have been using this sort of technique for a while. Personally I prefer a hand etching tool to the Dremel as I find this easier to use. I also etch under water and save the the dirty dichro water which I hope to use in other projects. I make a batch of eyes in different sizes and colours and use them for my people and animals. Would love to show a pic but do not know how.

Wow, great technique & really love the results! (would never have thought of grinding the dichroic off!) Thank you!
