I believe Zach Wilson could be good given the right coaching and cast around him, the Jets don’t know how to develop or build around quarterbacks and they destroyed his confidence not only in the team but also in himself which is big for a young quarterback
Even tho Lions really could use the bye for recovery I think the Vikings would just be doing the Lions a favor if they beat us next week. Keep that chip on the shoulder nice and big. I'm not worried about a let down if we lose to the Vikings. The debacle in the Cowboys game last year cost us the 1 seed and the Lions responded very well to that.
Love how Brockman thinks that Darnold is going to get $40 million a year after leading the Vikings to at least a 14 win season when Trevor Lawrence got 50+ for being slightly competitive, Jordan Love got 50+ for playing half of a good year and boat racing the Cowboys in the playoffs, Kirk Cousins gets 45 after tearing his Achilles at 36, and Dak gets 60 for really good regular season stats. The market doesn't start at $30 or $40 million anymore, and there will always be a team that is hungry enough for a good QB to pay at least market value. If Darnold isn't getting paid at least Kirk Cousins money next year, his agent needs to be investigated.
If there is a coach around .500 or better to get fired this offseason, I would not be at all shocked if it winds up being Todd Bowles. I think many are seeing that Liam Coen is a hot commodity and it would be a major mistake if Tampa allowed him to take a head coaching spot elsewhere if he gets offered. Meanwhile Tampa's defense has been for the majority of the last 2 years borderline atrocious and he is a defensive head coach who is subpar at best at in-game management. Unless the Bucs are certain Liam Coen isn't leaving this offseason nothing short of a Super Bowl appearance guarantees that Bowles is safe in my opinion.
Wow, no mention of Mike McCarthy being the coach of the .500ish team that gets fired. I'm surprised. I know Jerry said some good things about him, but I think that was before their hated division rival absolutely wiped the floor with them with their backup QB, and their running back gained his 2000th yard against you. To use Brockman's phrase, that's the kinda thing that can get you got.
He doesn't have a contract for next year, so if they decide not to retain him, that's not the same as getting "fired". The only way he actually gets fired is if Jerry pulls the trigger on him before the last game, and that's not very likely.
There is no gimme team in the NFC playoff teams. Rams are hot, Baker is balling, Vikings and Lions are so good and well coached, Eagles best overall roster, GB only has 1 loss from teams not named Minnesota or Detroit.
According to my napkin analysis, IF the current playoff seeding holds, which it will if either Washington wins, Green Bay loses, or both win or both lose in week 18, the only way the Commanders and Eagles will play each other in the playoffs is in the NFC Championship game.
Yeah I'll never understand the love of coaches who have already shown they can't be the big dog. People like Morris are just meant to be great coordinators. Like spags, top 5 defensive coordinator all time, I'd never want my team to hire him as HC because I already know he sucks at that job.
Vikings and Bills in the Super Bowl would be the best storyline. Both are 0-4. One would finally win and the other would have the all time worst record all to themselves.
Brockmans take about whoever wins week 18 lions or Vikings will win the whole damn thing . I don’t hate it even if it’s likely an overreaction here’s why you end the regular season 15-2 nfc north champs and on a win streak having been week battle tested offensively and defensively before a playoff run at home .
I agree about the home fields in the college football playoff. Why should the team seated five through eight get a home game and team seated one through four don’t. Makes no sense. Two solutions. Give the team seeded one through four a home game. As well as five through eight. Or play all the games at neutral sites and use up more of these meaningless bowl games.
I hope this is true because if he’s not then we are gonna have a lot of years to get used to this new niners habit of playing like hot garbage and it’ll be hard not to get pessimistic about the future for us in a reality where we’re starting over with qb1 AND rebuilding our OL, and the majority of our elite players are retiring in the next few years or going to be past their primes….its just too much of a full blow up to be able to think we could put out a winning/competitive team
Rich Eisen thinks college play-off teams should have home-field advantage .... Because making the game as balanced and fair as possible so that the best team wins somehow offends his sense of propriety? If that were never the practice in the NFL, Eisen would not have the temerity to bring up the idea. Eisen is a great interviewer, does nice theme segments, and gets interesting guests, but he understands football like any armchair QB who has never played.

Zero shot that Kirk is QB1 for the Niners. The Niners have the 9th most salary cap space going into 2025, so they're not in "cap hell". Unlike other teams, they know how to navigate the salary cap and actually structure contracts. Kirk played himself onto the bench of the Falcons, and is 23rd in QBR this year, just ahead of Aaron Rodgers and Bryce Young, and just behind Geno Smith. Brock is 7th, one spot behind Mahomes and one step ahead of Goff, in a year where he has had a below average OL, receivers who have the lowest separation grade in the NFL, and are near the bottom in YAC, and following two years where he was 1st in QBR and went to the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl.
Rich are you being held Hostage? if so send us a sign 🤣😂🤣😂😂
😂
Raheem Morris is a name not mentioned on the hot seat
I think the Washington football team is going further than the talking heads predict.
Besides the Chiefs, Chargers and the Broncos I don’t see all 3 being 1 and done.
'member when brock turdy was supposed to be the best thing since sliced _white_ bread?;
yeah, me neither (also, 28-3*).
🙂
Chris doesnt care who wins. Just doesnt want the chiefs to 3Peat and overshadow his old patriots 😂
Never thought Rich wore makeup until seeing this lol. Anyway, Go Lions
9:16 Todd Bowels, Liam moves up to HC
The Lions need get locked in against the Vikings.
If Penn state came to play on the blue turf... ooh baby
Chiefs live rent free in Chris' head
Lmao him Caldwell took us to the playoffs his last year and still got the axe- a lions fan 9:13
Pee cup part has me dying
Rich "i cant sit here and say....." eisen
That TRT got Rich red
There is no gimme team in the NFC playoff teams. Rams are hot, Baker is balling, Vikings and Lions are so good and well coached, Eagles best overall roster, GB only has 1 loss from teams not named Minnesota or Detroit.
GB is the least dangerous team. They can't beat anybody good. That "other loss" is from the team they will play in the wildcard round.
Zach Taylor of the bengals
According to my napkin analysis, IF the current playoff seeding holds, which it will if either Washington wins, Green Bay loses, or both win or both lose in week 18, the only way the Commanders and Eagles will play each other in the playoffs is in the NFC Championship game.
Damn did Rich get in a fight or something
Imagine thinking Darnold will only get 40 million
Atlanta needs to fire Raheem please!!!!
Yeah I'll never understand the love of coaches who have already shown they can't be the big dog. People like Morris are just meant to be great coordinators. Like spags, top 5 defensive coordinator all time, I'd never want my team to hire him as HC because I already know he sucks at that job.
9:02 tell that to the bears organization
Over reaction: one of the non playoff teams will go to SB next year!
Vikings and Bills in the Super Bowl would be the best storyline. Both are 0-4. One would finally win and the other would have the all time worst record all to themselves.
all I know is Chiefs won't 3peat.
My over reaction: The Commanders will shock the world and win the Super Bowl!!! Probably not but one can hope!
16 teams, no byes and reseed every round. Fix college playoffs for good
Purdy is now and will be the QB1 in San Francisco for the next 10 years.
Ten years? That's a stretch. Probably 4-5 years max
Coach to be fired: would be awesome if it was Pittsburgh & Tomlin. But, it won't be
Rich Eisen thinks college play-off teams should have home-field advantage ....
Vikings fan since 70 ,, seen more let downs than any fan on the planet. History tells me to .don't get ur hopes up dude is It possible to go. A lifetime and never see a Superbowl . This is probably the year.
Brockman just cannot stand the idea that another team will three-peat and outshine the Fake-triots....
And his pain brings me joy....
revenge tour complete when Detroit faces ravens in superbowl.
Rich: “im not saying he’s accurate”
Also Rich: “Nobody speaks more truth than Pat (McAfee).”
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rich is camping for AR here btw, bc AR never speaks the truth on Pat’s show.
That Lions defense isn't stopping the Vikings offense
More than Vikings stopping Lions offense..
@@larcelmerVikings have a better defense than Detroit. They also have a better defense than San Fran. And SF didn't have all their playmakers and barely lost last night.
@@BloodySoup74 Jordan Love didn’t play that great vs the Vikings and the Packers still almost won. Lions won’t have an issue moving the ball on Minnesota
@@Serching4JerryGarcia At any point in the game the Packers had no control whatsoever. They had a 3 point lead to start the game. Minnesota came on and it was good from there. Defenses play a certain way at the end if they are leading. It's always dictated on what the score is.
@@BloodySoup74 Lions have so many starters on defense on IR Vikings should be better on defense(Hell I might suit up). Packers have a better defense than Vikings. Anyways it will be Lions offensive line and offense in general that will control this game(crowd too). Lions came to Minnesota the very next game after Hutch got hurt and won. I got a feeling too that Darnold throws a couple balls to the best pair of safeties in the NFL. Going to be a great game for sure. SO much on the line for sure and how cool is it that NFC North has 3 good team. Beware of the Lions speed on offense too. Good luck, I take it you're a Vikings fan. Always disliked Vikings less than Bears and of course the Packers. GO LIONS!!
I'm not worried about the Eagles😂😂
UGA isn't losing.
Eisen and Warner are the best football commentators , Jmo, love those guys 💯💯💯👍
Kirk Cousins will be the 49ers QB next year. The Niners are in cap hell so I don't see how they give Purdy the bag (he is not the guy BTW) I think Cousins will cost the Niners only $1 million cause the Falcons are on the hook for his salary.
If Kirk comes to SF, he's a backup, and there isn't a competition.
Edit. I was wrong!
