The thing that's pissing me off is that I'm hearing that the Patriots should purposefully lose this game. Belichick would never ever ever ever f****** purposefully lose a game to gain an advantage on the draft. And that's the problem with the Patriots right now. He got people saying purposefully lose a game. I don't care if we pick first we picked a freaking quarterback the last time. Not something we needed but something that we just wanted to get instead of what is important to the team. And like you said most importantly is the fact that Robert Kraft needs to keep his damn mouth shut and stay out of football business. He doesn't know what he's talking about he owns a company he doesn't know how to play the game. We had that guy and we fired him both of them. So just like when his son comes into power and takes control over the Patriots we're going to sit here and watch some wealthy dude who has done nothing in his life that accounts to hard work and pretend like he knows how to do things instead of actually understanding.

Many (most?) Pats fans think: It's not they lost a lot of games this year. We all knew and expected that. It's the way Mayo and the whole organization conducted themselves. The bad clock management, the undisciplined penalties and uninspired performances, the lack of adjustments, the passive-aggressive digs at Belichick, the absolute whiffs in free agency & the draft, the undisciplined behavior from the players off the field, the lack of even the tiniest improvement in _any_ area aside from Maye, the constant screw ups with the media and on and on. They need to clean house. Fire Eliot Wolf, Mayo and every scout & assistant coach besides the QB coach. If they don't they are being stubborn and throwing good money after bad.

As a fan of the Patriots, Bill sticking around was a forgone conclusion. The issue here is not only was/is Mayo underqualified, but that he has also proven he can't account for the entire squad to work as a unit on a per game basis. Not only that, the Kraft's allowed Bill to walk without filling in all the holes he'd leave behind despite the complaints of other Pats fans with his drafting ability.
I have no issue with Mayo coming back one more year. Most people however don't have the time or energy to bother with a team that continues to struggle for multiple years, even if the HC hasn't been around that long. Given how poor the roster is, the lack of discipline, the mechanics for Maye, it's clear communication is also a problem for this team.

After leaving civilian life after four or five years he started working under Bill's system. He didn't and still doesn't have enough experience to figure out what type of head coach he could be that would best fit who he is.
His trepidation in front of the press followed by walking back/clarifying what he said one day the next day tells me he's still learning on the job. Players can sense that. No one likes dealing with a leader w/o experience when the chips are down. Sure, it's great to have a coach that wants to be your buddy. That approach though rarely elicits strong leadership. An experienced HC would plus the Pats at least five games. I don't see Mayo's second year doing the same.

Hunter, Henry, and Austin Hooper, are a really good pair of tight ends. Stevenson is a really good running back. We’ve got a handful of really good players on defense. I’m not saying it’s enough, but New England has more than just “two good players.“ They just don’t have the horses that you’d like to have, and their offensive line is a sieve.

Has the Patriots fan this is absolutely disgusting. Not only have we lost our way but we picked a quarterback as a first-round draft pick last year. There's nothing wrong with the quarterback It's the fact that this coach picked something that we didn't desperately need. And here we are again. We failed so hard at being a football team that were picking first again. This is disgusting and we wouldn't be in the situation if we still had Belichick.

    • @jakestring6027
      @jakestring6027 2 дні тому

Brother, I was with you until you said we didn’t need a quarterback
We had MAC JONES. We DESPERATELY needed a quarterback and we picked a very good one. Maye is the only bright spot on this team rn outside of cb.
I know there is a section of pats fans that think that Bill could do no wrong, but he led us to the THIRD overall pick just last year.
Yes the team has gotten worse, but that’s because Mayo is unqualified and not a good coach, not because Maye wasn’t the right oick. Belichick had to go, we just replaced him with the wrong guy

    • @rxibot

@jakestring6027 and just like with Mack Jones we have already broken Drake May. Because of our lack of foresight he is already starting to see ghosts he has already been concussed probably should have been pulled out of the game. And as I said if we don't get lineman to protect the quarterback it doesn't matter who we have back there. They will all be fodder for defenses.

Mike Vrabel did nothing his first year as a HC, he missed the playoffs after taking over a Titans team that finished 9-7 TWICE before Vrabel took over. You want to bring up him winning Coach of the Year? Didn't happen until Year 3 of Vrabel's tenure. Mayo is our guy for the next 2 years MINIMUM, if nothing has changed, THAT'S when you start whining like the spoiled brats are right now.

All the local Boston Bloggers are calling for Vrabel as HC...He inherited a good roster, and had a couple of good seasons, but he lost the locker room, and ended with 2.losing seasons. The good players did not want to deal with him. Patriots would be better off with someone like Saleh. All he needed was a QB. All he got was Rodgers.
Coaches like Jim Harbaugh and Andy Reid would never work for a weasel like Kraft.

Rich, none of us hired Mayo. Bob Kraft did, and he did it based off of a speech he heard years ago.
The Krafts don’t know the X’s & O’s and neither does Mayo (at a coordinator level) this was a premature hire.
Mayo could be good in 5 years.
But he’s never even been a defensive coordinator. He needed way more time to grow as a coach. The Kraft’s forced this decision. Bad move.
If you let Vrabel go to another team without entertaining having him as HC in New England it’s complete malpractice.

Even as a non-follower of Patriots football, it seems pretty clear that Jarod Mayo is not someone who can consistently lead men to victory in the NFL. The poor game-planning, lack of in-game adjustments at half-time, and lack of player intensity alone is condemning for him, but then you add in the element of constant controversy after every post game press conference because of what he says. Practically every week he's having to walk back comments that he makes. It's like a grand-slam of reasons why he's not the man for the job. This is coming from an Eagles fan and long-time Patriot hater, by the way, so I have no reason to take it easy on them. It's not the players, it's the coach, and if he's the coach next year, they will be a sub .500 team again. Bet.

    1. For week 18 we should start Maye if he’s heathy and wants to play, HOWEVER you treat it like a preseason game and you make sure you lose. You play Maye for 2 series and then put Joe Milton in the game.
    2. Ideally you have the #1 pick and you trade down getting at least another future 1st
    3. You don’t draft Travis Hunter who is going to be primarily a CB in the NFL, you draft Tetoria McMillian after you have already signed Tee Higgins and Cam Robinson to play LT

Rich kept saying "We knew this was going to be bad season like this in 2024 for the Pats." Not true. We knew we were going to have the lousy record that we have; But we shouldn't look like such a badly coached football team. The amount of penalties and just plain sloppy play is a direct result of poor coaching. The young players, Jalen Polk, Javon Baker, Caden Wallace, etc have not been developed whatsoever. The postgame press conferences have been so bad that Mayo has had to "Clarify" and take back so many statements all year long. Mayo has been on the verge of losing the team several times for making statements like "We are a soft team", or "I told the team I can't help them once they go out onto the field." Mayo is not ready to be a head coach period, and Patriots should JUMP at the opportunity to grab Vrabel while he's available. Then there's Elliott Wolf, good god such a bad job building this team.
