Years ago I went through a horrible break-up and was so dang sad. I actually saw my ex on Facebook dating another fellow and was so very low. I went to the cinema to cheer myself up and saw The Bye Bye Man. Was it a new horror classic? No. But to me it was corny, fun, campy, and some of awesome(ly bad). I went into it truly meloncholy, but as a huge horror fan, it put a smile on my face. The point is the power of the cinema is important.
@@thepumpkinking13 It is true. It will always have a special place for me. I also recall seeing the original Spider-Man as a kid. Similar and many other example. Orphan scared the heck out of me as a young man. Great time and I saw it at a down period as well for a different reason. I love horror movies.
I really slept on watching horror movies in 2021..i dunno why but my resolution is to catch up so thank you Lee for giving me a great list to look forward to 😄 I did see Old and really liked it Happy New Year Lee and all ya'll!
Great list. Didn’t see all the movies you mentioned but I saw most. I forgot I saw Wrong Turn which was great. It had a really deep message about the our current state of society. Psycho Goreman was ridiculous and that kid was awesome! Can’t wait to get more Army of The Dead. So many questions that need answers. I don’t think Antlers did anything ground breaking in terms of story but it was an excellently made film. Between the direction, atmosphere and performances, I was really wowed. I love the world this director has crafted. Maybe it’s his personal touch. The bleakness of life as also seen in Out of The Furnace. And the boys were fantastic. As many movies as I’ve seen this year, those kids were the best. That older brother deserves some kind of award because I felt his pain the entire movie. I’ll recommend The Empty Man to anyone and everyone. I feel like OLD was a massive win for MKnight. I actually like the ending. Using the way time worked there to test medicine? AWESOME. It was indeed a fantastic year for horror. Your first list had quality quality stuff as well. For myself, I’m thinking The Night House, Candy Man, The Empty Man, Army of The Dead and Antlers take my first 5 spots.
Thanks for recommending Halloween kills . I saw it and liked it. Also candyman. Wow. It almost had like this A24 kinda vibe to it. And so many clever twists. Also waiting to watch empty-man and a few more movies you recommend. Your great. And it is ways a pleasure to see your fans like me watch you recommend and keep us in the know. Thanks bro.
Another great list dude. Empty Man was such an unexpected movie and Antlers grabs you right by the horns. Pyscho Goreman was such a fun treat. It was like a toxic avenger version of power rangers.
Was just saying on twitter how watching content creators like you eats up all my free time and this vid proves my point lol...can't even watch it because I've only sat and watched like 2 current movies for 2021 so I gotta avoid spoilers. Meant to dedicate yesterday to playing catch up...spent it watching UA-cam videos lol. Guess that speaks to the dope work all of y'all put in.
Thank you DD! Finally my horror top 10 of last year: 1. The The Innocents 2021 Directed by Eskil Vogt 2. Recalled 2021 Directed by Seo Yu-min 3. Fear Street: 1666 2021 Directed by Leigh Janiak 4. The Maid 2020/21 Directed by Lee Thongkham 5. A Quiet Place Part II 2020/21 Directed by John Krasinski 6. The Night House 2020/21 Directed by David Bruckner 7. One of my favorites from last year was "Malignant" from James Wan, It's a B movie at its best much like a Basket Case. I feel like a lot of Horror fans don't really get down with B movies anymore. Another good one I just watched over the weekend was another Shudder banger "For the sake of Vicious" I love home invasion Thrillers in fact my first success as an Author on Amazon was with my short home invasion Family First, and this movie was just violent. If you have Shudder I'd suggest giving it a peek, have a safe week and much love & peace to all.
@@DrumdumsOfficial went back and yes glad to see someone showing love for "Malignant". If you still have Shudder check out another great high B-Movie "For the sake of Vicious" even if you don't review it, I think more people should at least see it. Crazy Home Invasion story.
And spot on about the marketing. As Chris stuckman said it was basically dumped and the trailer was only released one week before the movie was released
"Barbara Crampton becomes a vampire and it works out great". Somehow this sentence made me chuckle. 😁 This is probably the first time I've seen Army Of The Dead appear on a top ten best list. Normally i did find it on YT worst lists. 🙈
Still yet to see Jakob's Wife but it is coming out on Blu-ray soon; must grab that. Some others in here I should check out eventually. And while Don't Breathe 2 was technically in my bottom list, it's above my 5 least, and the story of the daughter as well as the quasi-redemption in the end make it worth recommending.
Dear Lord! I have a 13 yr old daughter and i wouldn’t wish that on anyone!! She is her own horror show…..I love her more than life itself, but they don’t make a swear word that is strong enough to cover that shit! Terrifying! Thanks for the ones to watch, though! 😁
My favorite movie of 2021 is Spiderman no way home as a long time Spider-Man fan it did not dissapoint green goblin is my all time favorite Spider-Man villan he stole the entire movie for me Willem Dafoe deserves a oscer for his performance this movie shows us why Green goblin is Spider-Man's arch enemy and seeing all 3 Spider-Man on the big screen I was crying tears of joy the entire time they were all on screen
Wait how did you get it being a game for Superhost, the movie is about a couple that is like you drumdums, but instead of reviewing movies they review airbnb spots
The little girl in psycho goreman ruined the movie besides her I liked it. Good list lee. The empty man was so good! It had so many layers.. some of the movies you listed I was interested in but you sold me I’ll check it out
That hecking song is what drags the movie down to keep it a buck fitty. Army of the dead was definitely one of the worst horror movies last year, the daughter was the one everyone wanted to die but she’s the only one who didn’t also it was just a waste of 2:30
Also in general I am a total sucks for any horror movies on college campuses, even if they are awesomely bad. I loved the newer Black Christmas, Kristy, and The Roommate. I truly love horror films.
I know I'm risking sounding like a nag at this point, but it's technically a new year, so I figure my heckle meter gets a reset. I'm still waiting eagerly for you to enjoy the heck out of "The Mortuary Collection"; the best horror anthology that ever made... if "Trick r' Treat" didn't exist. This is my great crusade. I will return once a year until the deed is done, even if the movie is totally ineligible for inclusion in any top lists by now.
So... is this your 11-20 for the year? Also, where would've you put ANTLERS in your OG top 10 or would it not have made the cut? Thanks, brother, appreciate you whether we agree or not. Frankly, I love seeing different diverse lists. It's fascinating...

Sometimes "experiences" can really make a movie great, even when the movie isn't necessarily great by any classical sense.
