I thought Marj Dusay was lousy as Alexandra. Beverly was the one and only. She had great chemistry with Judi as Beth and loved her but Marj never had that love and bond with Beth Chamberlain. She played Alexandra exactly like Myrna Clegg on Capitol. There was no replacing Bev McK. She was the one and only Alexandra.
I didn't get to see it when it originally aired, but the ex-wives club looked pretty interesting. I like her friendship with Lillian and how it dates back to the 80s.

Then I saw her in Spock's Brain on Star Trek- then on Hogan's Heroes. If she were Just a Little Taller-- Her Figure is As Lovely as Her Face!" I really likedMarj Dusay Capitol Myrna the first evil matriarch queen thedaytime drama,then in Santa barbara Pamela peppedrige capwell conrad who has the dark side assassin, in guinding light alexandra spaulding, gave the character a turning point she was exasperated with power, vengeful, passionate, she missed the true love of parents, husband, of a family. I liked her much more than collins is not Alexandra spaulding but Alexis Morrell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan of dynasty.Thanks for entertaining me and I miss the professionalism and class. I know with myrna clegg capitol and alexandra spaulding from emmy nominations too bad she never won.
The ex-wives club was a clever idea. I wish they had played it longer. The only good thing about the Pharmaceutical story was that it gave Danny's 5th street project a boost. I really loved the Alex-Cyrus-Marina story. It was the last time Marina was interesting and they didn't play it nearly as long as they should have.One of my favorite shots after Alan's death was Alex caressing his chair. Love when she has her glasses on she can play w/ glasses better than anybody. Great Carmen Santos scene
Something that's truly unfair is that that bastard Roger got almost a year with Holly (while lying through his teeth to her the entire time) and Alexandra really got only a fraction of that with Fletcher before 2009. Not only for that reason, it was so very satisfying for me to see that Alexandra got a happy ending.
Marj did just fine. Until Joanie came along and took down the apple pile in the supermarket. Marj picked up everyone of those apples and polished them as well. Piled them all back up and did finer even yet.
A worthy successor to Bev's incomparable Alex... I came to love Marj's Alex every bit as much, because she earned that devotion against a very stubborn Bev fan. I can't imagine what Springfield would have been like without Alex all those years Marj played her.
Marj was good but Bev was the best. She just commanded the room with power when she was in it. Marj kind of made Alex a bit of a softer character very stuttering and scatterbrained and if u listen she says the line "for heaven's sakes" constantly. Bev was composed elegant and powerful and if she did yell or let lose u knew shit was going down!

BUT Marj Dusay was the best ever recast in soap history. 👏 ✌.Marj recreated ALEXANDRA and made her the GRAND DAMME as so beautifully seen here. A BARONESS, but also ALEXANDRA and MARJ were QUEENS 👸. I liked Alex & Fletcher except I after he broke my heart by walking out on Claire I couldn't trust him again & with good reason. He never really committed to being more than friends with benefits. I hope now that they are endgame, he's finally stepped up. I never saw the point in the Amanda parentage re-reveal.Other than proving once again what a monster Brandon was,nothing really changed.

Call me opionated ,there was only 1 Alexandra Spaulding ( Beverlee Mc Kinsey ), her voice ,just the way she would look at Blake ,put Alainmichael in his place ,kept toe with Roger and her fragilité was controlled , she was always believable . She was unreplaceable , She is sorely missed
Mindy will always be Krista but Kim matured Mindy no Lewis fire but liked and Ann short thank god but Barbara liked she put the fire back into Mindy and Lewis temper
Yes Barbara’s Mindy brought back that wild side that Krista exhibited. Kimberley made the role more sophisticated but she also exhibited the Mindy neurosis, only in a gentler way. The character was always fretting about something or another.
