Yo, I actually took it as: As he get's older the "Adult" aspect is becoming more as just "HIM:" as opposed to a man living in the body of a child. He stated this before in regards to acting, by saying that as a child he was a "Prodigy" but as he got older, he's just like any other actor of that age as he is not any more skilled than the average actor of that age. So the line between the old him and the current him is now blurred as the age gap lessens. I could be wrong.
TLDR: He's catching up to his previous life's "mental" age/maturity.
@@joewillsart I think he meant that the "Aquamarine" wasn't really affecting "Gorou" because babies+small children can't form memories (infantile amnesia is the reason you don't remember your birth). As "Aquamarine" is getting older, and being influenced by his environment, it's having more influence on "Gorou" in general. He even noticed as he went through puberty, he's started to notice girls and romantic/physical attraction. I'm guessing he never dealt with childhood crushes since he was still "Gorou". Now the line is being blurred between "Gorou" and "Aquamarine", he's starting to exist as a mixture of the two, which I will call "Aqua".
I don't think it's technically the age affecting "Gorou", but the experiences/the length of time he's lived in "Aquamarine" that are affecting "Gorou". Once he passes the age of his past life, he'll still be "Aqua" but more "Aquamarine" than "Gorou".
How high is Akane's IQ to be able to deduct that Ai has a secret child and wtf, the accuracy of her protrayal without ever meeting her is insane🤯 She should become a detective
She's probably the smartest character in the series so far, but her specialty is more deduction rather than schemes.

Aqua × Therapy is the best ship. Honestly, he's not good with anyone until he gets himself sorted out. As it stands with his current path, he'll likely only drag those too close to him down with him.

6:04 Given that he has been living as Aqua for 17 years it makes sense he would forget about who he used to be. Especially with Infantile Amnesia taking many of the old memories.
Plus also, his memories would have more influence on his young baby life anyways since it had less to compete with.

I'm glad Aqua at least made it clear that their "relationship" was strictly business. I got concerned that he'd let her think he had genuine feelings all to attain his ultimate goal. Lol he's still gonna milk her as a resource so it's mild Aqua vs Dark Aqua(Darqua)
It's consistent to what Akane is capable, and she's not just some dumb girl being swayed over the manipulation because of the attraction. All I can say in the future is whatever she does is of her own accord. And I think this episode is meant for us viewers to see just how much imperfect Aqua is despite his analytical skills, you know like all the other characters are since they're human.

You know I love how this show sets up the reasoning for characters actions BEFORE they commit them. Everytime Aqua does something out of pocket, I don't aprove but I know how he got there. I don't need a flashback explaining to me why he did that.
I basically experienced him walking right to that point.
It's so refreshing from having characters motivation explained to me after what ever they do
What's more amazing is that Akane didn't even "figure out" that Ai has secret child, she simply "guessed" it

I like how Aqua always participates in the law of equivalent exchange. Save Akane one week, exploit her crush on him to forward his agenda the next.
I mean there wasnt any hidden agenda when he was saving her. Its purely on good conscience & principle. Its only after Akane 'serves' her usefulness on the plate, on her own at that, that Aqua starts to make use of the situation. It feels awful how things turn out but I respect that Aqua kept being honest & straight up told her how he feels. So even though he manipulated the situation, atleast Akane was aware of it, and even has options to decide to stay or to back out.

I knew Akane would be the wild card in regards to figuring out Ai had a child. However, I was wrong about her being a potential B Komachi member. MEM wasn’t even a consideration for me until she mentioned she wanted to be an Idol. Her success at UA-cam could definitely raise the group’s popularity faster.
Yeah, one of the many things I love about Oshi No Ko is the way they seamlessly subvert expectations and theories ❤
There was never a chance of Akane becoming part of B-Komachi. They already addressed it way earlier when they recruited Kana that they can't invite someone who already belongs to an Agency, and Akane already belongs to an Agency, while MEM isn't since she's a UA-camr.

There's only one disagreement I have with Shera... as much Aqua is manipulating people to his cause... he wouldn't involve Ruby in it. Remember he had blocked all of Idol chances in the past. Now he even helped her form the group. Along with his role for revenge... I believe Aqua truly cares for his sister and won't involve her in his plans to keep her safe.

''Ok this is just complicated. So essentially MC has an Oedipus complex towards Ai where he doesn't know whether he sees her as mother or love interest, but he does know he's gonna get vengeance by killing (perhaps) his father regardless of whether he thinks of Ai as mother or love interest.
At this point, Akane's near perfect portrayal of Ai made Akane a displacement for Ai in the MC's eye. So, as a result of transference (psychology), MC started perceiving Akane as Ai. That's where things gets complicated. He had to figure out whether that transference is attractive or paternal. That is, he has to figure out whether his feeling's for Akane's portrayed identity is as a love interest or mother.
That's where it gets even more complicated, MC fears that he loves his supposedly mother as a love interest (it made him aware he has Oedipus complex thanks to Akane LMAO). But more over, he fears he's gonna start liking a girl as a substitute for his lost love interest (that's building a screwed up relationship off of an already screwed up relationship with his mother). He is so dam lost he had to turn to Kana and see if he can still love someone else because if he can, that means perhaps he is not a milf (so essentially Akane made him realize he might be a milf, and he had to prove he is not by not liking Akane LMAO).
But that's when Akane says to him she knows a lot about her mother just through researching. That triggered MC's Oedipus complex, and left him with no choice but to start a possibly-as-screwed-as-it-can-get relationship with her. And god knows what's gonna happen next LMAOOOO.'' - Chonicler of Eras
I have 2 points
1. When Aqua says "A... Akane" it's written 「ア あかね」Ai's name is written アイ so Aqua almost calls Akane "Ai" by mistake.
2, Here we see mem-cho actually becoming a character and she is the one character that if someone tells me that they prefer her over Akane I'll be like "Understandable have a nice day".

Aqua slowly becoming a completely different person rather than being like in his previous life is a very interesting topic that will reoccur in later seasons in some way or another. He obviously possesses knowledge and experience that he had in his previous life, but at the same time, his genetics will play a huge role in terms of his personality and how he treats other people. People who read the manga know what I'm talking about.

by the way, the author of Oshi No Ko is also the author of Kaguya sama: love is war. Its amazing how this author can just put out masterpiece after masterpiece like its breakfast for him. He is also starting another manga right now.

So my interpretation of him getting older and stuff, was that the more he grows and matures the more the line between himself and Aqua starts vanishing as in, he’s slowly merging both identities and his old self’s tendencies are starting to re-emerge.

It's actually the opposite his old self is fading away and being replaced by Aqua (Which is what would probably happen if you got reincarnated).

Yeah I honestly think what he means is that his old self is fading which happens, you move to a new place and adopt new values, habits and your personality changes the longer you live in a different culture, but for Aqua is more serious. He died and was reborn and is living an entirely different life, he’s losing his memories due to infantile amnesia and living as Aqua instead of his old self and so that self is fading. When he passes the age that he died at I think his past identity will be gone completely and he’ll be Aqua fully.

Akane is an actress on the up, unlike Kana who has been struggling to get work and not attached to an agency which is one of the reasons why Kana is jealous and hostile towards her even before Aqua took an interest in her. She doesn't really have the same reasons or position to join an idol group as she already has a reputation and career that's doing fine, the whole dating show point was it was out of her element so she was lost, when she's playing to her strengths which is deep diving a character and acting a role she killed it.
Mem-cho has a lot more freedom to do what she wants plus more free time since she's not bogged down in acting projects and as stated her dream was to be an idol but it never worked out for her so she's more likely to take the chance if given another one. Even without the intro spoiling it she was the most likely of characters appearing so far to end up joining up with Ruby. They kept talking about social media appeal, skills she has and her getting close to Aqua through the dating show made a lot of hints.
