I love everything about this. How far away they are. The weird "Shining-esque" carpet, the shitty table they're sitting at, some random guy laughing in the background, the answer. This feels like a surreal dream I'd have visiting an expo and Yoko Taro and I've done none of those things.
I love how so many of these Japanese developers can come off as looking super professional, but then when they start talking about their work they say the craziest things.

Hell, Hironobu Sakaguchi was the big cheese in Squarsoft, but because of his mistake with the Final Fantasy movie he got forced to quit after Squaresoft went bankrupt and had to be sold to Enix.
So far, the NieR raids and storyline haven't disappointed in FFXIV. Personally, l'd say only the last boss of The Bunker was a bit underwhelming, but the story itself has been developing as you'd expect from Yoko Taro... Bastard even wanted us to die to one-shot mechanics as if it was savage difficulty.

I was hyped for Platinum to make the combat a lot better, but the combat is still not really good in the end, compared to a real character action game like DmC, Bayo, MGRR etc.

For example, he thinks incest is despicable, so he made it so the one character whose main characteristic was "is in love with their sibling" be also the one character who always does horribly no matter what (Furiae....)
Classic case of creator self-loathing. A lot of creators don't really see the value in what they've made, even if everyone else around them tells them it's great. He's also just kind of a whacky guy.
Nier and Drakengard in particular are made with very dark, grim, and hopeless senses, and he actually added many things to them that are both physically painful and hates. So I imagine when he says garbage or shitty, it's our take on like grim or gritty.
I think he claimed it as shit because of only 2 and a half year development time. And yeah ... it's bugged as hell and you got frame drops all the time and the stroy is tooooo short. I bet, if he had 5 years it'd be 'the' master of masterpieces!
tbh its actually garbage for me, the game seems pretty empty and unfinished.. it looks like its made in rush, but the soundtrack n lewdness is what makes up all of it.
