I saw the PRESTO tour in Largo Md ( Capital Center) and they had 2 giant Rabbits 1 on each side of the stage .... ROLL THE BONES PRESTO COUNTERPARTS were actually. my 3 favorite s . Unfortunately they tore the Capital Center do own not long after the COUNTERPARTS tour which would be my laSt time seeing the BOYYZ live .The memories and the library of music they have given us .I'm 60 and I've been a fan since I was 16. I remember waiting for tickets to go on sale and camping out all night to get them . And not being able to sleep the night before the show .It was like waiting for my brother to come visit .... T Chow Yep.... I pawned my guitar and drove 11 hours one way to see them. As soon as the concert was over I drove 11 hours back and went straight in to work that morning. No joke.... three of us did exactly that.
By this time RUSH was living the dream and loving every second. The back screen, animated lighting and better sound equipment gave them a whole new freedom.. Satisfaction secured..
I never saw a show of theirs (granted, only managed to get to 8 of them) where they DIDN'T "lay it down". Then pick it back up and stick it to the wall. And lay it down again. If there was ever a bad Rush concert, I've never heard of it.
@@felsinferguson1125 Well said.. I swat them several times.. The last time was on my 50 birthday in Calgary at their last tour. Inspiring band and the huge part of my the soundtrack of my life.
The last tour that Neil did w/ double kicks. I also loved how the drumheads were basically plain with a small rock, paper, scissors graphic across the front.
I have followed Rush for 38 years , always listening to them, never tire of this blasting into my eardrums, hearing the bass, guitar, drums, synths, every beat! Its great when music of this quality is made and Rush will live on forever.
This was my very first Rush show it took place in FL the Presto tour. I was about 18 and got second row front center was my seat the closest I would have ever got to see Rush I loved it when the two rabbits inflated on stage and one rabbit shot the other great concert. Rush is always a class act!!!
For all of those that put the clips online I thank you. This is musical history and to capture any of it no matter what the condition is worthy of saving. And with RUSH it is all great no matter the condition! RIP Professor
Just about every single song they play is an amazing air drum session. Thank you Neil Peart for all the many years of your brilliance behind the kits you played. Will love and continue to listen what you left behind for us and miss you dearly. R.I.P. The Professor.
You know when you’re watching something that makes you so happy and so sad at the same time ; you can’t stop watching & sobbing... and laughing and weeping then smiling... 😢😀🥺😭... Man I love those guys. RIP Professor.
So in awe..every concert I went to. Just stood there and gawked. Always loved the rabbits on Tom Sawyer. Best band ever. Miss them. R.I.P Neil. Just brilliant.
I'll never understand why they never played Superconductor live very much after this tour. It was such a good, upbeat song. It would have been cool to hear that one brought back on a later tour.
Neil was a man you fully admired _while_ he was alive (we didn't have to wait for his death to fully appreciate him). Thanks to UA-cam and the internet, we can all continue to enjoy him in all of his glory. I don't play the drums, but his words and his books and mostly his determination to get past truly painful life experiences have really inspired me to be the best I can be. I continuously work every day at being 100% loving and appreciating every hour of every day. 19:14 *"all of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer by the stars"* Thank you Professor. You won't be forgotten sir.
Yes he could have been and was admired as a man, not just possibly the best progressive rock drummer of all time. In death though it seems who the person was is amplified many times over - resonation. Then you can fully feel the impact that someone had or has. Surely you are punched in the face when you heard the news. Double whammy when Eddie Van Halen passed too. These guys are innovators, artists and in their own right, geniuses. Love how it's the arts that truly inspire us more than something AI. The reason is that we have hearts, we are mortal and AI just doesn't care.
This exact show was my first ever concert, I was 15 at the time and had to lie to my parents about where I was going to be able to go to the next state with older kids. Learned a lot that day. I did get caught but not in too much trouble. My mother passed away in 2014 of brain cancer at 66. I just learned that Neil passed at 67 from brain cancer as well. Rest in peace legend.
@@kingsethos5108 Shared this space in time, sight and sound unaware of each others existence until a random moment on a thing called the "internet" some 30 years later. Too cool man.
As I remember that it’s been nearly a year since Neil’s passing it’s hard to keep a dry eye. Neil, we weren’t family. We’re just fans. But we sure love and respect you. Let’s hope the next generation never forgets your contributions.
My wife and I saw them on this tour in my hometown of Greenville, SC. Our first Rush concert and their first gig on this tour. What a show! Talk about a tight performance! And now that Neil is gone it's such a bittersweet memory. What's worse is my wife passed from colon cancer three years later in 1993. If there is an afterlife, I hope somehow she has crossed paths with Neil and both can remember that show as a pleasant memory.
My first of many Rush concerts, drove up from Columbia. The Old Municipal Auditorium was a very cramped venue, stood on the floor in general admission. Sorry about your wife. Cancer sucks.
@@PatrickUTubeify Thanks Patrick. Hope you and yours are doing well during this Coronavirus pandemic. Dang. Never thought I'd ever have to wish someone well through something as apocalyptic as a pandemic.
I'm not a hardcore fan of Rush per se but my ex-wife was and in the late 80's she dragged me to see Rush in Anaheim, CA and that night I became a hardcore fan of Rush live. I had never seen anything like that before, not from Van Halen, Boston, Aerosmith or any other show I had attended prior. Rush shows are very efficient, for lack of a better word, everything was so well organized the show went on without a glitch, which is rare. The band delivered the goods swiftly, from the opening with Tom Sawyer and the end with excerpts from 2112. Sound quality was stellar for an arena, I had seen Van Halen at that same venue some years before and the sound had been horrible. Rush sound engineers had planned this well in advance (I assume) with large acoustic panels strategically positioned to kill resonance and echo. I can still feel my bones vibrating as we were pounded with generous bass and kick-drum thumps. Speaking of drums I had never seen such a huge kit before, nor had I ever heard a better drummer, still haven't to this day. He really used all of his equipment both acoustic and electronic to effect. Best live performance I have ever attended, and by far.
Kaveman Karl Cool that your wife is a hardcore fan of Rush! Rare bird. My wife would never listen to their music, nor attend one of their shows. I guess I shoulda asked that before proposing? LOL. I’ve always found the sound mix to be good at a Rush show. I believe Presto was the tour where they lowered the “mosquito netting” screens on all sides of the stage and flashed or projected lights onto the screens. I found that to be more odd than effective.
Love Scars! Very underrated song from Rush. The standout track on Presto in my opinion. I saw this show at Irvine Meadows in July 1990. Killer! RIP Neil.
OMG !!! My heart is very heavy 😢. I lost my hero on 01/07/20. Near the saddest day of my life . Love Rush as a whole and will never let Neil out of my heart ! Thanks for all and God bless all of you !
Neal you will be missed by all. R.I.P. Of all the times I have seen these guys my first time seeing them is still my most memorable. I was 17 Driving from my home in southern Michigan to Toronto in 1977 for "A Farewell to Kings". What a great show... Thanks guys for a lifetime of outstanding music..
I remember seeing them just a few years later on the Roll The Bones tour in Dallas, TX, and I remember thinking "yeah, they're new stuff is alright I guess," haha! Now it's classic rock in and of itself! Getting old is strange.
Hope they release some concerts as live albums, like they did with AFTK, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, even though those were 40th anniversary, you get my point 😂
How 3 Men made an Orchestra and cover so many styles and impossible techniques, rhythms and make it a RUSH of adrenaline is something I will take to my grave. Rich, lush, complex songs performed live. Twenty years into their careers, these hard working musicians delivered a masterful show for their adoring fans. Presto! Beautiful sounds and sights, from before the internet, on the internet. Giant bunnies too.
I was at this show. My first concert. I still have the ticket, a mint conditioned program and a T-shirt. I have seen so many concerts since then and this one will always be my favorite. Thank you for posting this as I now get to relive the moment...brings tears to my eyes. RIP Neil, thank you for the joy you gave me over the years.

This was my first ever Rush tour; saw them in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. I didn’t know Presto that will but was excited to see them perform their “classics” I knew very well at the time. We had decent seats and was locked on Neil the legend most of the time.
My first Rush show was during this tour Presto was such a good album looking back. Great songs great lyrics by The Professor. The Pass was one of the best songs they ever did.
The first CD I ever listened to on my very first CD player back in 1989 was Presto, every time I hear that song I get transported back in time! Thanks boys for the memories!
30 years ago today! Long Live Rush 🤘 Would go on to see them many times in this venue while they were still touring. RIP Neil, thank you for the gifts you gave the world with your music and talents.
My mind is blown this is on here. My first concert. I was 15 at the time and made up a story of what I was doing to my parents so I could go unsupervised with some older, and quite honestly asshole friends. Huge memories.....so glad this exists. I know it was a 2 day show, I believe it was the second night I went to but not positive.
This is a fantastic upload- thank you. It has some unique versions of some songs- like Neil doing "Subdivisions" on his last double-bass kit. Presto is an album that comes alive in live performance. The depth and range of the different parts on the "Presto" songs really come out- and more of the true nature of Rush at that time is revealed. (They brought back the guitars, of course, even more so for RTB). The Pass and Show Don't Tell are good examples of hard Rush was jamming at the time.
Tears in my eyes...I was 17, this my first Rush show and first show I'd been to at the palace. Odd luck and magic - 4 tickets fell into my lap for free and my girl, my buddy and his date had the absolute time of our lives. I may never have that natural a buzz again in my life - watching this and listening I was transported back to that night...that's true entertainment. Thank you to Rush for a lifetime of of smiles and experiences. For a short bit I was 17 again just now - how powerful our minds truly are.
It's been three months now, and I'm finally beginning to breathe. The PRESTO Tour is one of my favorites. The guys brought down the House here in Seattle. Where there have been tears of profound sorrow, I now shed tears of incredible joy once again...
Judith Goldfine I get home from work everyday and potter around the house, garage, backyard...where ever with earphones on and drift away in their music, shutting the world out. Being fairly new to Rush (Australia didn't play many Rush songs) and in my mid 50s, I have the luxury of listening to all their songs as if they are new, but getting them in one hit. Neil's passing hit me hard as I was getting right into them....pretty much all I listen to atm.
We all know musicianship is subjective and there is no one best player but Neil comes pretty damn close to being the one who could wear that moniker (RIP Mr. Pert). Alex isn't just an unbelievable rock guitar player, he's way beyond that, he is a guitar god and should be recognized for his greatness. His style and the stuff he plays is mind blowing. Geddy, well he's just a fantastic musician and his vocals are so unique, he just kind of brings it all full circle. What can you say, RUSH were just one of the greatest bands of all time. Ever since Neil died there has been nothing else allowed on all my playlists except RUSH.
This was my 1st RUSH concert 😳 My friends cousin worked security and moved us to Geddy’s press seats. We were just to his left and the only ones there. He kept looking at us like he knew we weren’t supposed to be there. Never thought this existed!

Wow, just another example of how freakin great these guys are. That Presto CD stayed in my pull out car CD player for months. It was an amazing show at the LA Forum that year too.
I have listened to this track numerous times. This is as great video and makes you realise how hard the 3 guys continuously. The mental energy required must be immense. All their songs change endlessly so no opportunity to coast like playing some simple pop track. As a drummer the standard set by Neil were way beyond all but a few immensely talented people. However very few drummers are such an integral and important part of any band. His lyrics tel great stories and make great social comments. Glad I saw them first in 78 and a few times after that. Sadly the last time the sound in the NEC Birmingham was very poor. Still these wonderful videos are immense to view.
They did the final demolition explosion of The Palace of Auburn Hills yesterday. It went better than the Silverdome... ;) Couldn't help but hear Rush still reverberating through the rafters before they came down... Many awesome memories of every Rush show at The Palace for me, but this was the only one I missed. Thanks for filling in the gap!!!
Shot in glorious 720p, the show captures their performance in a different perspective that most others, the audio is clean & solid. Neil is also in the best form I’ve ever seen! The encore is very well the best I’ve ever seen also. I’ve never seen Neil playing a portion of Wipeout, which made the ending very cool. Thanks a lot for posting this GEM👍.
SPECTACULAR DRESSERS!! Geddy, Alex and the man, Neil all GQ’d out…each one, a man’s man‼️ Love seeing them like this…they give us nothing but their very finest! Thanx, Rush‼️
I saw this tour in Calgary Canada back when..I didn’t really dig the Presto album at the time or so I thought. But watching this makes me long for those days and makes me realize how much it’s till ingrained in my memory. RIP Neil Peart. Thanks for the video
My dad saw Presto when they came through Dallas that year. I remember he lamented that they didn’t play the tune Presto on this tour, at least not at his show. He was like “How can they not play Presto on the Presto tour?” Years later, we went to Time Machine together, and lo and behold, Presto was one of the first tunes they played. Special moment for me and my dad.
They prepped it but never played it on the Presto tour. Very surprising. When they finally performed it on the Time Machine tour it was a spectacular moment and the best performance of the night when I saw them in LA.
Never cared for Alex's Signature guitar, but it sounds stellar in this performance. Excellent mix from the whole band. Now I'm bummed I missed this tour. R.I.P. Neil!
One of the best live bands ever!! I remember the first time I saw them in February 1980 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco then in June 1981 in Oakland ,Ca on their Moving Pictures Tour
How seriously fucking good it would've been back then; AC/DC during the FTATR era...Ozzy with Randy...and the ridiculous heights of Rush in their prime...I don't think I could've taken it. Consider yourself so lucky to have experienced that period in time.

08/11/24: OK. By fiat, you're wrong.
Unbelievable! UA-cam! This is the first Rush concert I ever went to and I am standing first row right under Alex Lifeson. Tix were $100 and worth every bit.
This was my first Rush concert too, just a kid!
I saw the PRESTO tour in Largo Md
( Capital Center) and they had 2 giant Rabbits 1 on each side of the stage ....
ROLL THE BONES
PRESTO
COUNTERPARTS were actually. my 3 favorite s .
Im Honored & proud to be a RUSH FAN ...
My first Rush concert. Traveled 15 hours in a Greyhound to get there.
I made many road trips and flew to see them too. RUSH fans are one of a kind and RUSH will never be replaced...
T Chow Yep.... I pawned my guitar and drove 11 hours one way to see them. As soon as the concert was over I drove 11 hours back and went straight in to work that morning. No joke.... three of us did exactly that.
Where in Canada??
That's awesome 👍
My first show too. Wow, man....15 hours? That's dedication!
By this time RUSH was living the dream and loving every second. The back screen, animated lighting and better sound equipment gave them a whole new freedom.. Satisfaction secured..
Peart in his prime . The man was just lethal. All three of the boys laid it down at this concert.
I'd say Neil's prime was probably around 1974-2015
@@superslayerguy Not sure when Tect for Echo came out but to me that was high point for Neil's drumming . I just love that whole album.
I love RUSH. Saw them 6 times. RIP Mr. Peart. You were my first drum teacher.
The Pass really is a beautiful piece of music
My sister took her own life when I was young. That song makes me think of her and understand her a bit more.
Subdivisions always gets to me! Masterpiece...
Every time I see and hear "Rush", they impress me, no matter the year, they always get over it. They really are incredible. Greetings from Chile.
Rush's magical musicality has been feeding my soul for more than 35 years, and counting...
Me too buddy, and I couldn't have said it better!
Rush music.....the well spring from which I've drank my entire life.
Farewell to one of the three travelers.
yes, three weary travelers
Love Presto. Very underrated. Probably because people expect it to be what its not.
So in awe..every concert I went to. Just stood there and gawked. Always loved the rabbits on Tom Sawyer. Best band ever. Miss them. R.I.P Neil. Just brilliant.
Tammi Davidson catch the spirit catch a fish! Love the Rocking Rabbits too!
My Rebuilt Life thanks for posting this. Saw them same tour in Seattle. Thy had the rabbit coming out of the hat stage prop.
😪😪😪
My Rebuilt Life So Sorry for your loss 😢 RIP NEIL and your Mom 🙏❤️
My first Rush show as well....nice to meet a fellow audience member.
How can 3 guys sound like 2 or 3 bands playing at the same time? their sound is HUGE!
By playing their balls off.
@@x00p3 using copious amounts of backing tracks including vocals didn't hurt either.
@@PatrickUTubeify She's a spirited girl that's for sure. She thought they had perfect rhythm for her dancing.
They sound so on top of their game! The good old days can't stay young forever, best Ive heard of them!
Rush in Rio is really really good too. Also includes a documentary on the band.
The professor,,, all the best maestro
Love Scars! Very underrated song from Rush. The standout track on Presto in
my opinion.
Love how much enjoyment they had playing together. Love ya Neil!! RIP!!!!
Nice to see this put on a DVD. Good Lord, I miss these guys.
Since all the Worlds a stage to their very last note, I am humbled by these gifted Men who are Family even though they don't know it 😂
RUSH FOREVER ❤
Best band ever
I am 76 years old and still listening to Rush
Rich, lush, complex songs performed live. Twenty years into their careers, these hard working musicians delivered a masterful show for their adoring fans. Presto! Beautiful sounds and sights, from before the internet, on the internet. Giant bunnies too.
I was at this concert. Top Notch!
I love listening to this Canadian band...!!!
Although the PROFESSOR has left us doesn't mean I'm gonna stop listening to Rush...RIP Neal!!!!
Does anybody else think that this is absolutely incredible and from 30 years ago...THE TALENT...MISS YOU N/P :(
I was at this show.
I was at this show. I took 2 friends who had never seen them preform. I am really hurting over the loss of Neil. I cry every time I listen to their music now.

What an amazing show. I saw this live at the convention center arena in San Antonio, Texas. It reminds me of how great Rush has been throughout my life. HOW LUCKY WE ALL ARE TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EXPERIENCE THIS GREATNESS FOR SO MANY YEARS.
The Pass was one of the best songs they ever did.
bore
I love UA-cam. Being able to find the concert I saw thirty years ago. What a great memory.
The first CD I ever listened to on my very first CD player back in 1989 was Presto, every time I hear that song I get transported back in time! Thanks boys for the memories!
30 years ago today! Long Live Rush 🤘
Would go on to see them many times in this venue while they were still touring. RIP Neil, thank you for the gifts you gave the world with your music and talents.
Presto is a lovely album. The Pass is a fantastic song.
Ahhh, those memories... I'm "crying" and I'm happy with you. Good luck in life for you and your family!!!
Never thought this existed!
fantastic story, Geddy is so cool
Their rendition of "The Pass" is simply excellent. Actually better than the album version, I'd daresay.
This is a great version, my favorite is the 'Rush In Rio' version, give that a listen as well.
totally agree best version anywhere
My favorite drummer, my favorite lyricist and my favorite band ❤❤❤
RIP Neil Peart ❤
Love the drum kit here it's the best

Looks incredible even at 0,5 playback speed.
The power and speed + precision is incredible.
0:10 - 101:13.....HOLY SHIT NEIL !!! Its been a long ride, it was a privilege to have caught it a very early age. RIP Professor... Be with Selena and Jaqueline again
it's like a triple ending! So great!
Phenomenal
Thank you! I cant believe it! This was my first concert ever! I was 16 and I talk about this show to my kids and wife. Thank you Mikr Peshik for inviting me. Bow I get to live it all again.
So much goose bumps. Thank you thank you. This is weird. I'll never forget when Neil threw his stick like 50 ft up in the air and caught it! Wow.
Dallas Barr my first ever concert was Rush in ‘85. I was 16. Pretty good choice for your first show huh? 😀

Amazing - thanks so much for sharing. Rush were such a creative force. Lifeson, like Geordie Walker, is such a underated guitarist.
They'll only ever recognize him when he passes I fear
herrkaliyuga with rush being my fav of all time, I am a massive Killing Joke fan and I totally agree, Lifeson and Geordie are fuckin awesome!
I see a lot of similarities in how they use arpeggios to colour the sound
Thank you for the Geordie Walker reference..he and Alex are in my top 5!
They sound great here. I have seen the guys 6 times and never disappointed me.
Thank you for putting this out for every Rush fan. N.Peart looks so happy after Tom Sawyer performance. Thank you to The Professor for all the music, words, and inspiration.
I absolutely loved the songs off of Presto! This concert inspired me so much! I was a Jr. in high school when I saw this show! Proud to have been there. It really takes me back. I’ve watched this 3 times and I’ve cried every time! Life was so much simpler back then! Thank you for posting this!

Rush got me started playing guitar over 35 years ago. Saw them on their Signals tour. They still blow me away. RIP Neil - you left a legacy which will live on.
So much
Marry me.
I would give a million dollars to hear what the band said in private after every show. More importantly, I love these guys. Neil holds a special place in my heart because of his writings, Thank you. I miss you
I was there and will never forget it. Thanks for allowing me to share this my other favorite drummer, my son.
i saw them 4 times outstanding show i wish we could rewind the years so i could go back an do it all over agian
This is the Ludwig kit that sounded the best of all Rush albums. Great look and punchy sound.
I was at this show. I didn't appreciate then how awesome this band was. Glad to see it here immortalized.
This is so good! Brought back amazing memories! I’m literally listening to Manhattan Project right now while typing this. I made it this far now I balling like a little bitch! I was at this show. I was a Junior in high school. Neil had such a profound impact on me as a musician as did the whole band. I’m 46 now and can’t believe he’s gone. This amazing footage makes me happy and sad at the same time! I’m thankful for you posting this! R.I.P. Neil! And Thank you Rush for all the amazing music and memories!
I wish Rush would officially release shows from this tour. This is my favorite time period
Wow, just another example of how freakin great these guys are. That Presto CD stayed in my pull out car CD player for months. It was an amazing show at the LA Forum that year too.
I attended this concert and by far the best show I've been to!! UNFORGETTABLE TIME!!!❤❤❤❤❤🤩🤩🤩
I have listened to this track numerous times.
I was there mate, a wonderful band. One of the greatest of all time.
R.I.P. Neil!
I like it. He switched to Paul Reed Smith for the next tour.

Was that when Y&T opened for them?
Closer to the heart in this show was 🔥🔥🔥🔥 The finish to that song was unbelievable!!!!
