I still can't believe it... It is impossible... My drum and lyrics guru is dead😥😥😥I cry and I'm in mourning😪😪😪Condolence for the family, friends and all fans of Rush😓😓😓R.I.P Neil... My Brother🧡🧡🧡
It is so very hard to believe
I'm right there with you my friend. Thank you.
Sad day but their music will live on! God speed,Neil. 🎶🔥🤘🥁
Snowdog sorry , it really sucks he was absolutely the best drummer ever !!!!!!
IKR !! What a shock, fly high brother Neil
Only Rush can play every genre of rock music within the first 10 minutes of their show. Most influential band ever.
Only Rush could play an intro instrumental medley of work that most bands would die for. RIP the professor, gone but never forgotten.
Most talented power trio ever to exist
Best Power Trio to ever grace a stage. Nothing more to be said.
You are so right. Pure power and raw talent!
The Hendrix experience
ZZ top are up there aswell.
Thales Suzuki no way in hell
Cream
Rest in peace Neil , gone at 67 , he will never be forgotten ! Canada and the world has lost someone special !!
Who else than Geddy Lee can play bass, keyboards AND do laundry at the same time ?
jajajajajajajaj
my grandmother! 😂
Tony Levin would also have a broom duct taped to his elbow to sweep up the stage! :)
I seen that, great ? Right there
Well, He did learn the lyrics to "Take Off" really fast, so he is a professional!!!😅😅😅
I am 61 years old and STILL want to see them before I kick the bucket.
Amazing how they blended ALL the songs! Such talent!!!
Something Ben Stiller can be proud of...
Not only can he say his father Jerry Stiller is a comic legend he can now also say...
"My Dad introduced Rush!"
"Beat that!"
One of very few bands that can pull off a 10 minute starting instrumental without the crowd being annoyed :-)
One of my favorite bands. Neil Peart was the best percussionist of all time! Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are also top notch musicians. Was blessed to see them live several times in Milwaukee. R.I.P. PROFESSOR.....
From Caracas Venezuela, que tremenda banda, la disfrute desde que tenia 16 años y tengo 49
I miss these guys so much. I was blessed to see them as many times as I did.
How many times did you see Rush live?!
Me too!! 62❤😀
Well, really blessed you are, man... It's a privilege
I didn’t get to see them, you’re lucky!
I'm with you and saw them live since 1974 and lost count how many times but have over 70 ticket stubs and I know I lost a couple during the early times, really buzzed... Best live band ever!
ok this is the first time i have ever listened to rush and wow it wont be the last
The only way I will excuse that is if you are 7 yrs old and grew up in a Mennonite village in the middle of no where!..Oh well...Welcome; we all discovered them once ourselves :) for me ….it was 1977 Hemispheres. La Via Strangiato! What a song!
Caress of Steel, 2112, Moving Pictures, and Rush in Rio live.
@@GSDjrbites I started on the next Album at 14... Well after my friends intro'd them to me after school with All the Worlds a Stage..
I've seen RUSH four times live. They were simply amazing!
I saw the boys live almost 500 times
I was there. I've seen them roughly 100 times. This show was something like high 80's to mid 90's for me. As far as s i know, this was the first time they played Radio City since the Signals tour.
For the past 2 or 3 weeks, i've been trying to watch this on my train commute to work, but i can't make it more than about 1 minute without breaking into tears, and having to cut it off. It's sunday night now, and its time to relive the moment.
Thank you so much for posting this.
Walter B
I don't have to prove shit to a dickhole troll like you. I can't post a pic to the coments, and i can't find my ticket stub (ask your gran'pa what that is), but i can send you pics of the tour program...
S G ignore the trolling buddy
100 times is damn impressive, total respect for that - this R30 tour was my favourite as I truly loved the concert I was at in the UK (although every tour was awesome, R30 was super awesome)
It’s hard listening to Rush at the moment without feeling unutterably sad about Neil - we all feel your pain
Goddamn he was amazing though - and we’ll always have the music and memories
R.I.P Professor
Nice comment
@@paulelliott3220 well said bro
I was a Rush fan the day a classmate brought in All The World's A Stage to music class long ago in a galaxy far away. I hope they put on concerts in heaven when I get my turn to go!!!
I made the comment to someone, my idea of heaven is there will be a hallway of infinite rooms that you can walk into, and each room is any concert you could imagine to be at, especially Rush!
What an AWESOME band. ..been a fan since my teenage years in upstate new York with my Walkman headphones on plowin the fields and rocking to rush(moving pictures )...r.i.p Neill peart...that said. ..we should not forget Getty and Alex whose lives will be forever changed by his passing...we love all of you guys...RUSH...rocks on forever.
My first concert....Rush signals tour in 1983 Radio City Music Hall. Miss you Neil the pain will never go away
"I can't pretend like a stranger is a long awaited friend..." I know you weren't comfortable with it, but you had many friends Neil. RIP

Subdivisions is a profoundly touching song
My favorite Rush tune.
The thing that Rush can do that so few bands can is touch you on a mental, physical, and spiritual level like no other. The prof's lyrics always give their songs that extra amazing boost beyond ordinary rock. LOVE these guys.
Amen to that!!!! going to see RUSH perform was my first rock concert ever. Their subject matter when it comes to their lyrics are second to none. They are in a class all their own. I have so many favorites from RUSH but I agree that SUBDIVISIONS is such a profound and important subject to write about. It hits me on so many different levels! I was at Radio City Music Hall at that Concert back in 83'. I can't say enough of RUSH....
My first tattoo I ever get will be the lyrics "Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone." I just haven't figured out where I want it.
Arnt they all
These guys are sick talented omg
Were
Neil Peart is a drumming beast! And he wrote the songs! And the other two are also phenomenal guitarists. An era is over, with them in retirement now.
just neil
Neil wrote the lyrics to about 98% of all Rush songs, but he didn’t write all of the songs. Most of Rush’s music is credited to Lee and Lifeson. They made a great team though with Geddy and Lifeson writing all of those complex musical pieces, Neil’s unique lyrical style was just the cherry on top. The earlier Rush tunes, where Geddy or Alex wrote lyrics were not at all in Neil’s league. The subject matter was far more shallow and the rhythmic structure not as poetic. Lee and Lifeson said they were not really interested in writing lyrics, so they gladly turned that job over to Neil.
They are so incredibly tight as a band. Wow.
37:31 This fucking song; When I was a kid coming up. My grandparents had a cabin in Northern Michigan that I used to spend the summers at. I can remember blasting this song thru my headphones while ripping down the road on my dirt bikes. It was GREAT!!! And every time I hear this song, it brings me right back to the time.
Red Barchetta
Its just amazing all the sounds that come out of this 3 piece band. Id almost swear its 2 drummers sometimes. Neil is just an animal on the drum kit and Geddy and Alex are just as good on their instruments.
I have always thought Alex was the best on his instrument of the 3, and grossly under rated ..........BECAUSE the others are tops as well !!!
I once read an article that described the size of Neil :Peart's touring drum kits through history as ranging from "gargantuan to merely very large".
If you watch the while hour I can tell tell you nothing as you came as I did , a fan . God bless Neil's good memory , and long life to Alec an Geddy.......In my opinion the greatest band of my lifetime . Thank you !
I can'[t stop smiling, and am on the verge of tears of both sadness and of joy.
frickin masters of their instraments and on time with each other all the time, perfect what a pleasure to see
professor on the drums, on time is what he does.
I've seen them in concert twice. Two of the best shows I've ever seen.
Ryan Griffith Me too! Sadly I only got to see them twice but they played their hearts out both shows and I couldn’t be happier to be part of music history. Never again will there be a band as musically proficient and talented as Rush.
Bravado is such a beautiful and powerful song - " and if the music stops there's only the sound of the rain,
all the hope and glory,
all the sacrifice in vain,
and if the love remains,
though everything is lost,
we will pay the price,
but we will not count the cost."
how does alex to play everything so perfect no errors no false notes just like in the albums
Because this is rush 👍🇨🇦🍁😂
Mathias Mercado Because Lerxst plays A LOT and RUSH, being the uber nerds about rehearsals, Reherse the whole show for weeks before hitting the road.
Al just makes it look effortless, because he's that good!
I have seen all of them fuck up at one point or an other, but they do it with style and grace, and recover seamlessly.
@@jackmehoff2312 I read once that Alex prepared by practicing 7 hours a day 5 days a week for 8 weeks - to prepare for rehearsals!!! It shows.
perfectly
Saw this tour at PNC Bank...best show ever. Period.
Geddy Lee's smile while jamming out in the opening song says it all. Classic.
Came here just to praise him ! Rest In Peace my brother !
The best band ever!!
I was there !!!! FRONT ROW !!
Very cool 😎 👍I have seen them many times 👌👍🇨🇦🍁
Saw this tour. As many others was blown away. Best band ever
Had seen them once in 1986, a friend of mine was a monster rush fan, never missed them if they played anywhere near here, sadly and coincidentally passed away from brain cancer in November. RIP Ian and Neil.
Legend band. RIP to the legend Percussionist and lyricist, Neil.
Tears of joy every song takes me on a journey of my life. WOW is all I can say for this band. There's still hope they will return.....
Jerry hatfield they shouldn't
Jerry hatfield omg! I pray for one more tour! I have never seen them live!!
Saw them play Radio City for the 'Signals' tour, when Marillion opened. What a show.... what a band!
I didn't know this video existed until today. What a band. Man, I don't remember Neil sounding so fierce. Rush forever!
I was at this concert!! Luv RUSH since 1974. Rip Neil best drummer, percussionist and lyricist that ever lived!!!
we are so lucky to have videos like this to keep Neil alive in our souls !!
RIP To Neil Peart The Greatest Drummer Of All Time In Rock And Roll History.
Such a bittersweet feeling I have now 😪..Neil you will always be the greatest and Rush was such a lining up if the planets so incredibly talented
Yet you know i've had the feeling, standing w my senses reeling.
This is the place to grow old till I reach my final days.
RIP Neil You three blind mice are my MP3 playtoy.
Yeah...these guys can play, write good tunes, and sound great live! Bravo!
They are still the BEST!!!
Goosebumps! Love me some Rush!
best three piece band in the world. Incredible live performance. Thanks for sharing.
The police # 2
Primus #3
Ahh, excuse me guys, but he said "best" not good!
sting in The Police
Triumph another Canadian 3 piece band
These guys are beyond great. The opening melody was incredible and had to be very difficult. The #1 band I regret not seeing LIVE.
Best opening medley ever! Best opening ever!
Of Integrity, yeah! With such an opening of a concert, it's not possible to show more integrity. The best band in the world.
They BLEW the ROOF off with that opening medley, once everyone started figuring out they were going in the order of their first 7 albums. This is still simply the greatest opening of a concert I have EVER witnessed.
Awesome medley!! Love it.
jack london yes i saw it five times- they should have played for rock n roll hall of fame induction ceremony
I am good friends with Geddy. I just found this video and Garry ( Geddy ) sees this he won't be happy. This is copyright infringement. Last time I saw Garry we were talking about how any bands trying to make music a career is going to have a hard time making it because of those who download the music freely shows disrespect in that the bands are losing their cut from music sales. Only way to make money is by touring but by the time they pay stage hands, their their flight and their manager it's difficult to make a living.
Btw, it would be great to know the RUSH boys. My impression is they're great guys.
Ok everybody quit watching this because Claude Belanger is good friends with "Garry" and he would be mad if he knew we were watching this.
I saw this show in Darien Lake that year and I really think this was my favorite tour by them....They were so tight. Second best was the Time Machine tour.
I saw both tours and I agree with you
Time Machine Tour at the New York State Fair was phenomenal!!!
RIP Mr Neil Peart I'm jamming to Rush this whole weekend man.
Jimbo Coonass oh so am I! UA-cam live videos, my Apple Music and my live DVD's and great memories of the '84 Grace under pressure tour.
And I'm not tiring of one minute, especially since I haven't played Rush in a while.
Even more I'm watching every angle when the camera is on Neil- seeing things I just took for granted because he was so incredible- but even more, how his drumming had so many intricate layers, it just became an entire different instrument. Combined with his songwriting.
I could call this a premonition, a coincidence, whatever, but Three Dog Night came to my mind while listening to an Argent tune and noticed Russ Ballard wrote a tune that 3 dog night covered, "Liar".
I remembered hearing one or more of their members died, a couple of their band members, but Cory Wells - one of the lead vocalists- one of the best harmony bands back then.
Tongue in cheek, I thought I guess they became 2 Dog Night. That was Friday 1/10/2020, the day the news broke about Neil.
I was at a networking meeting the next day, and was talking about copywriting cover letters and having the skills and talent to write.
I also did a google search on one of my PROFESSORS from art college. He was interviewed and shown on
UA-cam and discussed how he and other members of his family, like his grandfather, was an avid reader, especially rare books, some worth thousands, even old comic books.
The talent of songwriting, especially in Neil Peart's case, came from being an avid reader; it broadens your knowledge- of everything, globally, whether fiction or fact.
It certainly is clear in Neil's legacy. And everything I thought about, researched and listened to prior to hearing the sad news-- could have somehow linked together-
Writing, losing a member of a music trio- (years ago - but thinking about it days before the news) - maybe just a coincidence, but these premonitions have occurred many times to me- even thinking of a song, and minutes later - boom- it's on the radio.
Just saying- may mean nothing- but I can't explain what made me look up stuff, or discussing the craft of creative writing- and the love of reading to enhance those talents.
So to the professor of the drums and songwriting- a huge talent, one who has lived through tragedies in his life, Neil, Rest In Peace. This weekend my playlist is all Rush- even documentaries- each member with very unique stories.
Right now, everything else in the world- it's on hold.
This is about Neil Peart. Time stands still!
Neil
I hear you Mr. Larry Fulmer cool.
In retrospect we realize how great was Alex contribution to their success...seeing is believing.
Unsung hero, in a trio of giants!
He always brings beauty into all heck breaking loose.
My favorite guitarist of all time...from 1978 onward!
Still hurts....will for a long time! Master of precision.
R.I.P. NEIL... GREATEST EVER.. REUNION WITH YOUR FAMILY, MY FRIEND.. WE WILL REMEMBER YOU...😇
The Tones and Mix of this recording is nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL. Love...
The end of the most musically fluant - diverse - soul moving inspirational trio of mental musicians that ever will be! Thank you all SO MUCH for the privilege of your music! You were & are the biggest influence in my style, strive for perfection, and my desire to please and teach others to do what they thought they could never do! Including myself! And for the PROFESSOR, YOU WILL ALWAYS LIVE IN SO MANY FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL CONTRIBUTION TO MANKIND AND FOR SHOWING ALL THAT "THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS & IT IS SO GOOD!". BLESS YOU ALL. ALEX, I THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A GOAL
great opening act still the best 3 man. Band ever...
Best concert ever in radio city music hall
Red barchetta. My all time favourite 👍
Rock on RUSH fans, semper Fi..I was at this show..
Rush me mueve diferentes emociones y me hacen sentir vivo. Aún recuerdo cuando vinieron a Chile y estuve en cancha vip...aluciné. Con razón fueron nombrados Embajadores de la música en Canada, y hasta apodados DIOS DE LA MÚSICA. ;)
Rush....like a sound of millions playing, but are only 3 super guys...powerful
21.12.2018... Happy Rush Day... for everyone!!! 🍾🍻🥂
Copy that Snowdog!
This was definitely one of the top 3 concerts I ever attended. I great seats 💺 and the acoustics were phenomenal 🥁🎸🎤🎼💗💗
greatest band ever!!!!!!!!
Saw R30 in Stockholm. Best concert I will ever see. Amazing 😎
Saw this tour in Vegas, just fantastic! We will always have the music & memories 😪✌
Eventhough they are 3 piece but it sounds like many instruments they played!!! Rush is My favorite band before Dream Theater ☺☺☺
I think I gave Dream Theater an honest shot at interesting me but, meh. I just don't see the point in anything they do. It's too self indulgent for me. RUSH never forgets it's about the variety of music, the fans, the excitement and the happiness they express on stage.
Rest In Peace Neil Peart!💔😥
MAN...that Overture at the beginning is just the BALLS!
R.I.P. Neil. You have left us with your amazing works of drumming and lyrics and class that not too many other artists can claim. Rush is the ROLEX WATCH of rock music, precision, timing and perpetual movement. No other band with three members, that sound like 5 or 6 can replicate this. Sorry to all of you American so called rock bands that think you are great. Well, you're not great. You are all a bunch of sell-outs with no back bone and integrity . RUSH ARE THE REAL DEAL. THE TRUE ROCK MASTERS . IF YOU LISTEN YOU WILL GET IT!
Thanks for the post. This was a great tour, and they ended on a high note after Clockwork Angels. . Playing for 2 1/2 hours + till the end. The Canadians set the bar.
Of all the numerous Rush Concerts I saw in my lifetime, this was easily the best show I ever saw in person. It was a magical night. Great set list, band was tight as I ever heard them and really pumped that night, fans were LOUD for 3 hours, and RCMH has the best acoustics of any venue for a concert. That I had 2nd row seats on Alex's side didn't hurt either.
R I P Neil U R an inspiration .....from michael t wyman
Rush fan and sometimes sub drummer on LA jam nights 2013-2018 LA CA USA January 2020
God Bless these guys
I was THERE!
Truly three musical magicians. Sorely missed . . .
Missed?
*from touring. We still don't know if they're really retired from the music industry as a whole or not.
They will be back, even if it just a one time show :)
Jesus dude they are not dead!! they will be back especially here in there second favorite city Buffalo ny
Geddy and Alex will resurface somewhere, somehow, doing something (together or separately). Looks fairly certain that Neal is done for good and is happy to while away his days in California being a dad and hanging out with Stew Copeland. It's all well and good - Neal has earned his happiness, and Geddy's voice... is not good. I'm glad they decided to ride into the sunset instead of pushing things to the point of absurdity (see: Yes, and many other examples).
neil is a monster. a machine . so powerful! dude
They came to Auburn NY during the All the world’s a stage tour in 76 and rocked the city. I was 15 feet away in front of Geddy, with me being a bass player it was awesome!
I'm so proud of having seen this awesome, marvelous, wonderful, delightful band twice.
Beautiful like a perfect wine loved their music.
Sempre emocionante Rush!! show live melhor ainda! que energia maravilhosa e técnica impressionante!!! Geddy Lee o melhor multi baixista vocalista do mundo!!! que energia e felicidade como toca!! Neil Perl o melhor batera de rock!! Alex versátil e técnico pra acompanhar essa galera!!!
I have seen Rush over a dozen times throughout the years and they are always AWESOME!!!!! So much music for just 3 dudes!!! Can't wait to see them again
Mark Roberts sorry to spoil your mood but I'm pretty sure their done touring
But that won't happen again, Yes I have seen them many times myself. Just awesome. 👍🇨🇦🍁
I was here! I wish we could go back and live it all again!!!
They would play High Schools in local towns where I grew up, RUSH were our heroes growing up, local boys, love them, Love you Neil RIP..God Bless
It could be a very very very long time before another drummer comes close to niels talent. Gone to soon r.i
P.
Geddy and alex in their own world on stage together while neil creates a universe in the back.
I am already missing these guys!
I was fortunate enough to be at both shows! I remember a swell of emotion during the Overture. The songs, the photos, the passage of time. I was blown away by the lighting rig during "Between the Wheels." Last memory.... on the second night, Geddy sang like a pirate during "Temples of Syrinx," as in "Arr...we be the pirates of the Temples..." Someone at the soundboard was even waving a skull and crossbones flag. Good times!
Best (somewhat) underrated band.
What is it with UA-cam, I can't get to enjoy one music video without seeing at least one "underrated" comment. It wouldn't matter if it was Itzhak Perlman or The Dave Clark Five. Somebody without a clue has to post "underrated" like it's a job requirement.
Alex Geddy having a great time, Neil working his ass off 👍👌🍁🇨🇦 and all having a great time.
What band can play their tunes with or without the vocals and the song is still just as amazing.
