As a guy who grew up with two parents working in healthcare, and eventually ended up working in the same sector for quite some time before switching jobs, this list spoke to me on a emotional level.
And awesome for giving credits to Psychiatrists, I went to one to help me with my social anxiety and without their help, I wouldn't be the person I am today.
On that note? Surprised Raz wasn't included, if low because he's just starting out at this and is only just starting to get past his "making mistakes" phase over the course of Psychonauts 2. The Psychonauts are, basically, Thera-Spies, after all.
The second I saw Mipha as number one...I cried with joy,She deserves the top spot.
Kinda wished Ness was here, i mean he's the main hero and healer of Earthbound with some really good healing
If not, with Ness having not much characterisation or expressions, than Lucas
Only Josh could understand pyro
Really wish Celica A Mercury was on here considering she's a healer in a fighting game!
You should make a top ten fire bosses video please
I'm calling it right now, The Medic is #1. Josh f#$king loves that megalomaniac.
*Edit:* WOW, couldn't even make it to top 10. I was sure he would have at least got top 5.
I've seen him #1 on another list, but can't remember what. It be funny if Silver Quill or Key Frame make an appearance.
Considering his role in the TF2 Analysis group, I wouldn't be surprised
Not even close.
Medic made number 1 on a similar list Quarter Guy made a few years.
I’m already gonna like this when you started off with parody of “Friends on the Other Side.”
For me, my favorite Healer is Vi from Bug Fables, once you unlock her “Sharing Stash” ability, from a very touching scene where she reconciles with her sister, it not only heals a good amount, but it cures poison and gives a heal-over-time Effect.
I love Vi! Not as a healer, but more of a rogue glass cannon who does insane damage
@@ianleather5699 no complaints, especially when you equip the right Medals, *she can be essential for continuous damage.*
@@alvaroperez2349 I pick Vi for damage later, Leif for Freeze and Kabbu as the guy who wears a big bullseye on his back.
@@alvaroperez2349 The shadow man was inspired by Baron Samedi.
@@orangeslash1667 you mean Dr.Faciler?
Honorable Mentions:
*Morgana - Persona 5
-Granted, Makoto also does have healing moves as well, but this kitty is your first healer and you get him as early as the first palace!
*Sharla - Xenoblade Chronicles
-She heals... with a freaking sniper rifle!
*Vestal - Darkest Dungeon
-She's by far the best healer unit in the game.
*Dr. Zed - Borderlands Series
-He's been kicking as long as Marcus and is the one operating the medic vendors.
To add to the Xenoblade characters:
-Nia. I would say more, but the majority of it is spoilers, so I can’t go into detail as to why she’s awesome. I will say this, though: nobody should be pitying her, especially in her greatest moment of triumph
Billy from Xenogears is a 100x better than Sharla. Both in effectiveness in combat and story.
@@aionicthunder Nia _deserves_ to be on a list of top healers. Many of the reasons are sadly spoilers, but her personality is completely backwards from most healers. She heals less out of compassion and more out of a stubborn refusal to watch people die. Her Welsh accent is also absolutely _majestic._
@@aionicthunder I was expecting Nia to be on the list as well, for all the spoiler reasons, the gameplay reasons, and the fact that she's just generally an awesome character.
Another thing about Dr. Zed: He actually helps heal. Unlike, say…a certain Doc Mercy in BL2 who only is good for farming for an Infinity Pistol.
21:29
Actually, fire is just as important in nature, as it can destroy invasive plants and restore natural habitats to a certain degree.
(for example; returning important nutrients back to the soil and get rid of any toxic waste to the plants).
Anyway, I think my fav healer is Cotton Cookie from Cookie Kingdom (who just got recently added to the game and technically a support character.)
Her skill 'A Warm Light' allows her to periodically restore her allies' HP (including her own) and increase the summoned creatures' ATK.
She also summons sheep which charges at the enemies, dealing an area damage and stunning them.
Her story is also bittersweet as it's a re-telling of the Snow Queen story.
Dym 22:00?
Damn should I check out Cookie Run or Cookie Run Kingdom?
@@personalover249 I suggest Cookie Run Kingdom. Mainly because I don't know Cookie Run Ovenbeak very well.
@@Chellythefox OK, I'll check it out and get back to you when I can.
@@personalover249 Alright ^^
Working on the Baron Samedi song was so worth it.
Also, I was starving to see how people would react to Medic's placement. Was not disappointed lol
As a rank 10 Baron myself, I loved it. :)
What a masterpiece of embarrassment.
@@88cgdan Did you reply twice because you want a reaction? Well there you go. A reaction.
@@CountShaman No, I just wanted to word my comment differently
@@CountShaman Princess and the Frog needs more love.
She heals Link from beyond the grave with the strength of her feelings... Acting in his best interest thereby actively keeping them apart. That is just beautiful T_T
0:57 this reminds me of when I read a post online about Healers.
Healer: I’m the one who decides if you live or die.
I’ve never disrespected a healer ever since.
Ngl I was expecting for the FE character it would be Linhardt. Since he’s the best healer in the game on an objective level. Plus on a personality level he hates seeing violence hence why he heals as much as he does. He’s got such a strong hatred of blood he’s really good about following the hypocratic oath unless he’s attacked. And on the advice level he gives a lot of very wise advice, you know when he’s not sleeping
I would have thought that title would go to Mercedes. She has healed, physic, and fortify
@@Mr.EintheMorning Well not really for a couple of major reasons. Firstly her utility spell pool is nowhere near as good because not only does he also have heal, physic and restore, Linhardt has access to warp which is so much better than fortify. Especially since 3H introduces a lot of more than viable low health strategies and having a spell that heals everyone in a certain vicinity when running those strats is kind of a major issue. In fact objective play recommends those strats hence why Bernadetta with vengeance is so good. Then there’s her offensive spell pool which isn’t very good because she gets no super effective coverage and only gets the fire spells which are ok. Meanwhile Linhardt gets the wind spells which have higher crit rates for one and are a lower weight which means less of a speed drop. Not to mention his access to Excalibur which helps with the obnoxious flying enemies who are pretty strong in 3H. Even when looking at personal skills, live to serve is so situational. It’s only useful if Mercedes has taken damage which she shouldn’t be and she only regains hp when healing, basically making the personal skill redundant when she gets renewal. While Linhardt because he’s male can have access to life taker which heals him after attack. Then his personal skill cat nap stacks with renewal, so Linhardt unintentionally took a severe beating last phase and there’s no one in the vicinity to heal. Next turn he regains health thanks to renewal and either waits and gains more health or attacks something and gets more health. Only direct advantage Mercedes has over Linhardt is access to gremory but even then Marianne, Dorothea, and Hapi are all better choices due to better utility or general offense. So Linhardt is 100% better, and while Mercedes is not a bad unit as this is 3H even the bad units can be made good. She’s just kind of standard better than flayn and Manuela if your going for healers. But best medic in the game not even by a mile
I prefer Elsie from Fates because she’ll help you wether your a wounded ally, a starving refugee, or even a captured enemy
@@Aeromancer-Draco-Lord I don't really use objective strats because I kinda play casual mode or phoenix mode if it's Fates (I know, I'm a filthy casual who's ruining Fire Emblem for the "real" fans and shouldn't play Fire Emblem at all).
The one thing I can say is that when I went through the Blue Lions path, she was a really solid archer who I tended to use more than Ashe and she stayed as a tour de force of a healer.
@@richardwilliams7263 I mean you say that and Elise was objectively the best medic in conquest. Rev is a different story
Can't wait for the Top 10 Penultimate Bosses. Whether it be just a list of the 10 best Penultimate Bosses, or a list of the 10 Penultimate Bosses that're Better than the Final Boss, I'll still be satisfied.
@@josephheiskell3493 I can think of other candidates for both lists;
N (Pokemon Black and White)
Lewis Legend (Lollipop Chainsaw)
Alice Twilight (No More Heroes 2 Desperate Struggle)
Thomas Mutton (Catherine- Full Body)
Masayoshi Saido (Persona 5) (I'm pretty sure I misspelt his name)
Poison Ivy (Batman Arkham Asylum)
Zant (Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess)
Father Balder (Bayonetta)
Vergil, Dante's Fight (Devil May Cry 5)
And a few others that escape me.....
I hope Lorain and Lothric are on the list.
@@TheGimbishGlob Who and who?
If it's least penultimate bosses, I'd probably go with the earth dragon from Sonic and the black knight. God I hated it.
For the first, Miracle Matter, for the second, Dark Daroach
If I don't see The Medic from Team Fortress 2 someone is getting their bones sawed through.
I figured Estelle may make this list. Love that she did 😊
Sees #1: OKAY I AGREE 100%! LINK X MIPHA FL!!!!!
I preferred Link x Cia since it tried fighting destiny.
@@ArcCaravan well so does Miphlink
@@thomastakesatollforthedark2231 Nah, someone cheated fate to instead of fighting it.
@@ArcCaravan Cia isn't even a canon character. Hyrule Warriors was stated by Aonuma to be non-canon

DUDE! I adore that you know Trauma Center!!! Those games were literally my childhood, no joke they're the reason I'm actually going into emergency medicine 💊 thank you for giving this series the love it deserves 💓 keep being you!
Wow, hope your studies go well! Goodness knows we need doctors now days...
So just to be clear we all know the medic from TF2 going to be in the top three right
Top 3?
Don't you think you're aiming a little low?
Delicious, aged like fine milk under a week of sunny days
Here we go again:
15: Dr. Facilier is one of the best Disney villains.
14: She's pretty cute. I want to adopt her.
13: Donald is always getting the short end of the stick. Still, I can't disagree that Tink is better.
12: A very interesting choice for this list.
11: Let's face it; NOBODY is surprised this guy is on this list.
10: I need to start playing this series.
9: I'll be honest, I'm confused she got this high from Josh's description.
8: I've never managed to get into Fire Emblem, but Three Houses has somewhat piqued my interest. I'll play it someday.
7: Everyone loves the grandma character.
6: Fire & nature don't go hand in hand? Then why do fires need to be set by forest rangers when the trees get too crowded? Still, I get what you mean.
5: I expected Lucio for this list initially, but Zenyatta is also a great choice.
4: I need to check out that one Netflix series about this game, though I can never get into the game.
3: Let's hope they go with the RPG representation of Peach when they make the movie.
2: Okay, I won't disagree with how psychology is an important field, I can't say that Athena be on this list as a healer. She is an amazing character, though, so I'm not too upset.
Honorable Mentions: All of them made me very, very happy to see them there. Moving on.
1: This is just one of the reasons why Breath of the Wild is one of, if not THE best Zelda game ever made. At least until the sequel comes out.
I want to adopt Cinnamon too
I wish you could have gone to Pixie Hollows from Tinker Belle’s spin-off series in KH 3 and got her as an actual ally
Agreed on Yuna and Athena Cykes. With the former it feels like it's because she's got the standard FF white mage moveset and character while Rikku is a different archetype. The latter could work if you don't count gameplay directly, since her healing story-wise feels more metaphorical and not gameplay intention. Could still work as an obligatory Final Fantasy entry and an unique archetype respectively.
It's videos like these that truly heal my soul. Just watching Josh struggle to not scream at the puns his editors place into his script is so fulfilling!
Edit: I LOVE HIS SINGING!
2nd Edit: The River Lethe is the River of Forgetfulness. The River Styx is possibly the one Josh meant.
He probably just chose it so that it can rhyme with death.
Aww, I wanted Alfyn from octopath traveler to be on here. His healer story questions whether it is right or not to heal criminals which made for one of the more interesting stories.
Totally agree, though I also agree with Ophelia being the rep in the honorable mentions instead. The reason for that is the Hippocratic Oath rule: while I’m sure Alfyn would follow it, half the usefulness of the Apothecary job (mixing aside) is that it’s a decent combat class.
Yeah, Alfyn's story and character are more healing focused while Ophelia is about faith and being a cleric. Honestly feels like you can't go wrong with either.
he may be a healer, but he also has immediate access to the strongest attacks in the game. that's probably what knocked him off the list.
Love the list! My own personal pick would be Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Edit: Oh yeah, and if you are taking suggestions: Top 10/15 Protagonist Bosses, boss fights against a main character that was either playable earlier in the game, or in a previous game in the series. Examples include the Demi-Fiend in SMT Digital Devil Saga and now SMTV, Red in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal/HeartGold/SoulSilver, and (a top contender for the #1 spot) Roxas and Lingering Will in Kingdom Hearts 2
Definitely red and demi-fiend
There is only one boss I can think of that would Absolutely be on there, but it's like, insanely spoilers.
All I'll say is this:
*Intense Violin Noises*
#6 Mipha BOTW.
Edit: Mipha was much higher on the list than expected :D
I became a Mipha main the moment I started playing as her. She became my go to character through out the entire campaign. Back to some some honorable mentions. Most Persona 5 players would say Morgana is the best healer in the game, but Makoto was the best healer for me. Her defense buffs were useful as hell during the final battle.
Small correction, the Norse goddess Hel also functions as a healer, so Baron isn't the only underworld healer in SMITE.
while i love using the Legend of Dragoon for the countdown how did you not include Miranda/Shana in the list at the very least honorable mention? at the end of the game you get her best weapon exploding arrow that attacks all enemies and does massive damage. her dragon magic once you get her to lv 5 does 100 light magic to all enemies and 100% heals the whole team
YES! I love being the healer, and they needed this kind of respect! And as for that beginning bit...I mean I can technically disagree because I don't typically directly talk to my teammates, but INTERNALLY...yeaaaaaah. Great list as always though!
Have to admit, with the octopath music in the background I thought at least one of the 2 healers in the game would make the list. Ophilia as an honorable mention is nice and all, But Alfyn is really underrated. As an Apothecary he creates medicines with a variety of effects. And his story arc thoroughly explores trials and tribulations of the medical field. He searches high and low risking his life to find the the right ingredients for his medicines. He stands up against other doctors committing malpractice for their own benefits. His conviction to save every life he can is questioned when one of his patients turns out to be a violent criminal and he's forced to wonder if someone like that is worth saving. And he even saves someone who wants to die and restores their will to live.
Yes! Justice for my boy, Alfyn! Concoct is hilariously OP, Last Stand + Golden Axe easily cheeses the early game, and Dohter’s Charity can be a lifesaver in the final battle. To say nothing of the difficult moral questions that come up in the latter half of his story. And I would be remiss to not mention the Slumberthorn tidbit. Beware the nice ones, indeed.
@@eroraf8637 If you like Alfyn, check out the Octopath Machinabridged. He's effectively the main character.
This is exactly why Mipha was one of the characters I played as in the final battle in Age of Calamity.
Being a Healer is like being a Tank, you'll never get thanks for it
One small bit I wanna add to the obligatory KH rep at 13, since we're specifically bringing up KH 1, I wanna give a shout out to Goofy and his Evolution skill. With how quickly Goofy can rack up MP bars, despite his low amount, he can essentially become an infinite use Mega Potion, healing the entire party with great efficiency. Unequip his other skills, and he becomes an amazing option for healing. But at the same time, considering how tempting it is to have Tornado equipped, sup-up his Strength, and absolutely hyuck-up enemy and boss alike, it's a hard to decide what to go with, but regardless, Goof is definitely one of the best party members in the series. Also, mad respect putting Derek and Athena on the list. Yeah, they're just regular people, but that doesn't make them any less of healers, just like many of our real life surgeons, psychiatrists, and therapists.
If any Final Fantasy character I’m counting on to make the cut, it isn’t FFVII’s Aerith, but FFVI’s Celes - from the same game Josh’s all time favorite character/mascot of his channel comes from. (In other words, his favorite Final Fantasy character who ISN’T Kefka)
EDIT: I’m surprised it was Yuna instead. 😮 And as a die hard Mario fan, I’m absolutely surprised yet STUNNED Peach made the Top THREE!! 😳🤩
I'm curious. What makes Celes a healer in your eyes? Sure she learns Cure, but that's about it until you get espers, and then everyone can.
BJGvideos Well, people HAVE favored characters from VI & VII more than other entries in the franchise…
Mercedes is literally perfect. Out of all the Three Houses characters, she’s the only one I’d love to meet in real life. She’s beautiful, is a super-duper sweetheart, is apparently a fantastic cook, will listen to all of your problems, will heal all of your wounds and defend you with her life, and does it all cheerfully. Not to mention her voice and smile will make anyone’s heart of ice melt.
Some of my Honorable Mentions:
-Daisoujou (Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne) It’s Prayer ability can heal everyone tremendously and added with Meditation (which heals both HP and MP for Daisoujou), it’s incredibly broken.
-Mercy (Overwatch) Really easy to use, can heal teammates fast, can revive anyone (for a price of a long slowdown), and her Ultimate can be pretty useful in tough situations
-Rabbid Peach (Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle) The only character with a healing ability, she can definitely be a lifesaver at times when things are dire.
Great Facilier song tribute! A similar character, Voodoo Priest Dazzle in DOTA2, is actually my best character, or at least the only one I've ever gotten any legit praise for. I like how his healing steals HP from enemies and gives it to my allies. Like they'll care where I got all this extra blood from so long as I'm giving it to them. Shallow Grave can and has made the difference between victory and defeat.
Calling it on who I think might be on this list.:
Rosa- Final Fantasy IV
The Medic- Team Fortress 2
Blissey- Pokémon
Celes- Final Fantasy VI
Aerith- Final Fantasy VII (Technically, her Limit Breaks)
Killmaster- Brutal Legend
Mordin Solas- Mass Effect Trilogy
And if I’m wrong, I’m wrong!
Arceus is the Llama Fence God, while Blissey ... is the Goddess of HP 😅😅😅
Personally I'd go with Tapu Fini over Blissey from pokemon. I've used it in VGC as a healer and supporter and it is by far the best since it sets misty terrain which prevents status automatically. Then I just spam swagger and heal pulse on whatever is next to it, usually Stakataka or Primal Groudon.
Well, I got one right at least, though I feel like an idiot for forgetting Yuna and Mipha!
LeneaQ Gaming I honestly feel like Yuna was more use because of her Aeons than her White Magic 😅😅😅
After playing breath of the wild I agree with Mipha being number. She’s so sweet and caring and I literally just completed the mission to get her power. I can’t wait to test it out. Plus she’s gosh darn adorable.
Everyone: I bet medic from team fortress 2 will top the list.
*when they see his actual placement* 😮
Some of my favorite healers:
Chasun - Summoners War
I don't know how the meta has changed since I haven't played since 2017, but she was at the time ridiculous. Her Fallen Blossoms skill was completely busted for the longest time since she could equalize any straggling unit with her own health and restore them to full health if she was full.
Milt - Food Fantasy
In terms of HP, she can heal the entire party for ten seconds when linked with Caviar, she doesn't remove status effects but I don't believe in objectivity so yeah personal bias is in her favor.
Aeris - Final Fantasy VII
Again, personal bias but she is a strong healer and an endearing personality. It's not a stretch to say that a lot of VII's longevity can be attributed solely to her. Yeah, all of the characters in that particular entry have been Flanderized over the ensuing decades, but going back to the original game you remember how playful and teasing, a far cry from the enigmatic Mary Sue she'd eventually become.
Really happy to see Estelle on here…but your description of how she takes on so much of the healing duty is giving me serious PTSD of the Schwann fight, coming at a time where not only Estelle, but Raven, the game’s sad excuse for a secondary healer, are gone. Thank Luna for DE giving you Flynn to pick up the slack.
Technically. I've heard that in ng+ Karol is actually the best healer due to some skills he can get and the fact that his healing abilities are more 'leveled'. Haven't tried it myself tho
When it comes to Tales healers, usually Estelle wouldn't be the first on my list, though Josh may disagree on healer quality. I'd give it to the OG Tales heroine: Mint Adnade. So very focused on healing that she pretty much sacrifices ALL her offensive options (except a few Pow Hammers). Characterization might be a little basic and archaic because that was when Tales was just starting out, but Mint IS the OG heroine and OG healer of Tales.
@@ChrisX_212
I personally like her because her offensive options means she not only has more versatility but also is a good example of "dont fuck with the white mage"
Number 1 warmed my heart so much, as she is easily my new favorite character in the Zelda franchise, and I wish she could continue on to rest of the franchise. I love her character, ability, just…everything. So good.
Anime healer: Sempi sugoi qauaii OwO
Realistic healer: *drinks deeply from their whiskey* all right ya crazy careless bastards, who’s the looser in need of healing? *tired Of your shit*
Just gonna say it now...
"Nobody F**KS with the white mage."
Ah yes. The hardest job when healing with the worst of players
As a tf2 medic main, I can said bad players are pain in the butt.
Peach is definitely a great healer, better than Mallow but seriously lacks DPS compared to Mallow unless she has her BIS weapon.
As long as medic is better then mercy than I am happy
Medic:11th place
Mercy:Nowhere
Not gonna lie I’m a bit disappointed that Nia from Xenoblade chronicles 2 wasn’t on this list
When the baron samedi part happened,I expected to hear THAT LAUGH from live and let die
I wonder if we'll see Blissey from Pokémon make the list.
Some Special Mentions from other games:
for some info ahead.
Rena Lanford, Star Ocean II - is one of the selectable protagonists, is actually good in combat, and has some nasty offensive spells on top of being the better of only *two* possible Healers in the game.
Nia & Dromarch, Xenoblade Chronicles II - sassy catgirl and her pet *tiger* are your main healer - until Nia reveals herself to be a Goddess-tier Blade herself, making Rex all but unkillable gameplay-wise. And she does a ton of damage for a Healer-type Blade.
Frog, Ayla, and Robo from Chrono Trigger - the shapeshifted Knight, the strong-as-an-ox Cavewoman, and the futuristic (literal) Killing Machine are not the people you'd think would carry healing powers. Yet, they have some great single and party-healing powers, and can combo with other characters to have some of the best party-heals in the game.
The Baby Metroid, Metroid: Samus Returns and Super Metroid - it only has two apperances, yes. It's not much of a "character" outside of those two appearances, yes. But it *does* heal Samus during fights against two of her most dangerous adversaries, while dealing severe damage to both in return.
The Chrono Trigger pick makes me smile because I heard they outclass Marle.
@@ArcCaravan Marle has her uses - some of which involve being the main one to combo wit those three for even more ridiculous healing - but she is very much a conventional Squishy White Mage Love Interest.
Ngl, I like Mipha, cause she reminds me of my older sister, my sister is less... compassionate compared to Mipha, but it's tough love. Even when I felt down, she still cares a lot for me and my family.
Two of my favourite healers are Princess Garnet in FF9 as she perfectly represents the classic job class in the game and her in-game model is wearing the literal White Mage robe when she first meets Zidane.
And second is Rena Lanford from Star Ocean Second Story/Second Evolution, having the whole second half of the game revolve around her and her character is so intriguing but as the primary healer she has single targets and aoe spells as well as buff and weaken spells too so when she is not in the party during certain areas of the plot; it hurts.
At least someone remembers Rena!
@@LeoSmashRoyale If I make a list, Rena would definitely be one of the Top 10. But I guess it's based on how one grows up. I, for one, was fortunate to discover Star Ocean 2 during the heydays of PS1, therefore leading to... well, that.
2 H.M's for you guys:
1. Finka (Rainbow Six Siege) A healing effect that can restore health, revive allies from long range, reduce recoil, allow fast reloads, fast stun recovery, increased speed in barbed wire AND A SELF REVIVAL MOVE? Hell yeah. Also, 6P41 LMG rocks.
2. Doc (Back 4 Blood) Has better healing skills among the cleaners and grants TRAUMA RESISTANCE. Trauma is basically Rad Damage from Fallout, so yeah, always have a Doc on your team. Not to mention, funny personality.
The Healer is one of my favorite classes in any RPGs; D&D clerics can do some really cool stuff, and considering I'd get my ass handed to me in an IRL fight, it's probably the role I'd want to play if my friends and I ever found ourselves in a tight situation. My dad's a doctor, so maybe it's just personal.
P.S. I wholeheartedly approve of that #2 pick!
was gonna be mad that Medic was at #11 but then you mentioned that he was more of a mad scientist and you're totally right
Actually some trees need fire to grow again
White Mage, Cleric, MEDIC, Many names for the people who keep the team from being dead. Get your I'm a Healer but memes ready.
15: The Voodoo he do makes for a crazy party.
14: One Part Cleric, one part Equipment maker, all Adorable.
13: Fae Magic, interesting pick.
12: Our First Doctor on this list with Stile.
11: Ah the Crazy German Medical Merc
10: I was hoping we'd get a Tales of Healer on the list.
9: Better Summoner than Healer but hey that's FFX for you.
8: Big Sis Mercy is here to keep you safe and that story twist.
7: Granny Wynne is keep you safe and keep you on the moral track.
6: Fire of Life from the Queen of Dragons
5: Robot Gandhi is here to kick ass and give life advice.
4: Goat Healer from the salt factory.
3: RPG Peach is Best Peach.
2: Give it up to the Ball of Emotional from Wright and Co.
1: Best Zora is Best Healer, I can vibe with that.
My pick is Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, because she's a damn good healer, has a very sassy personality where she comes off as cold at first, but quickly accepts Rex over her past with Torna, has a pretty tragic backstory, and... Unless we're factoring in a potential of a harem, she kind of got done dirty by Rex when it came to his focus on Pyra and Mythra, just like how Melia got ignored by Shulk when Fiora returned (eventhough I prefer Fiora more).
And I guess I'll give an honorable mention to Sharla from the first game, since she can actually heal with a gun, and is far from timid since early in the game, she develops a huge hatred for the Mechon, not to mention her way to talk sense into Reyn.
Honestly, I was expecting her to make it. Plus, I don't think many on this list have used their healing to give their enemy CANCER.
@@smashster1787 I assume he just hasn't played Xenoblade. I could understand giving Sharla a pass but Nia not even getting a HM? If personality is what he was looking for she's got it in spades.
When you beat the game, there is the chance of a rare title screen, which gives a little hope in the romance aspect.
@@karlhnedkovsky5214 That's why I said what I said.
I don't pity her not getting to be Rex's girlfriend. He was never obligated to love her romantically and had to live for his actual choice.
There is something you're wrong about Mercedes. She isn't the big sister, she's the Mom of the Blue Lions.
Even agewise, she's the oldest Student in the Game. By the Start she is 23
Fire-Healing is definitly my forte. I have a albino Lizardfolk-Druid in one of my DnD-Campaings who is a Wildfire-Druid,
basically exactly what you described Alextrasa to be. With the tangent of him being a bit of pyromaniac, rather cranky since he's like two years before dying from old age
and kinda primitive. An example? Since he is our group's cook, they had to tell him multiple times that no, rat-sandwich and worm-soup isn't a normal meal.
Ehh... a bit of a disapppoingment with Mipha. Oh she is not bad, don't get me wrong. That said, in my eyes, she is "just" the archetypical healer.
As such, I throw in the Doctor from Vampyr, Johnathan Reid. While the game had problems with it's execution, the Idea of a Vampire-Doctor that fought in the first World War and returned to London, only to be turned himself and having to combat a Plague that links together with his turning is one of the best i've read in a long, loooong time. And while he ultimately is the way you play him to be, one of the reasons I put him above many of the others is for him not only healing, but doing what he can to prevent people to get sick.
Dammit, Josh, you tease me with Shana and Legend of Dragoon throughout the WHOLE LIST... and don't even give her (Or Meru) even an honourable mention?! Rood, dude. Relegating my favorite game of all time to the background. Still nice to at least see LoD still being noticed at all though, so thanks. Great list, great vid.
Started the countdown, if the medic from TF2 is not on this list, I'm going to start Ragnarok.
Edit: I am very pleased.
Edit 2: As a Zenyatta main, I am very, VERY pleased.
Atoli from .Hack//G.U. Standard compassion as per most healers but gains more confidence (albeit slowly) through the course of the trilogy, and good *lord* is her backstory fucked up, especially considering how she met and was subsequently manipulated by another character in the games.
16:55 Yeah, as much as I love Lorenz, his support with Mercedes is straight-up hilarious with just how savage she is when calling out his insecurities. 😂
Any support that roasts Sylvain or Lorenz is a good support. Mercedes is straight-up SAVAGE.
Wait.... The video end has a character possibly screwing with a snake and Josh is a DnD nerd...! Is the next list Top Ten Bards/Musicians‽
If Yuna is so crappy at healing, why did you put her a number 9?
I am depressed! How could I fix?
29:29
Hey Josh, his girlfriend turned into a bunny some time ago. She's not a snake anymore. Your joke is irrelevant. (but funny)
35:40
I can't believe you made a reference to Redo of Healer in in the start of video.
Bold move Mr Scorcher, very Bold move…………
But, you have more Respect from me showing your choice of doing so
OMG!! I totally freaked out when Derek Stiles was on this list!! He's been my favorite characters for a very long time and I'm happy to see him here
Favourite healers are Elise & Sakura in Fire Emblem and Nia in Xenoblade.
You're not slick Josh, I caught that Bill Burr reference at the end.
Also, Mipha definitely deserves her spot.
Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I would go into why, but that would entail massive spoilers.
i was kinda hoping that went you mentioned Peach
you would go for Rabbid Peach from Mario + Rabbids
Weird choice but Butters from South Park stick of truth, he has a good healing ability and decent damage output and plus his ultimate(wheel of chaos) can heal you if your lucky enough
Nia not being on here is a crime.
You wanna know what we did right to end up on Tinker Bell's good side? We didn't threaten to get in the way of her relationship with Peter Pan. Intentionally, or unintentionally.
.... Zenyatta has a first name?
Darn I was hoping to see Nia on the list but hey Ralsei got an honorable mention! Even though Noelle is a better healer but hey cheers for the goat uwu
Can’t believe you forgot Skyla from Pokémon Masters smh [sarcasm]
1:19 hehe. Even with that Hippocratic Oath rule, it ain’t keeping the tf2 medic off the list
Alyfn GreenGrass from Octopath traveler is one of my favorite characters of all time
well I heard that "josh scorcher"="sprout" basically. :/
Have you played Xenoblade 2? If so, why you didn't put Nia on the list?
Where's Nia! My Welsh catgirl got robbed!
Josh is not a fan of Xenoblade. He never really felt it.
My personal healers are
Morgana from Persona 5: This sassy kitty has gotten meowt of a jam. Also, I'm a cat person, sue me. Sorry for the bad pun. One more thing, I can't like Yukiko, because Amanda Winn Lee's shown herself to be a desperate bitch. Especially, during the whole Vic Mignogna controversy. I'll put Sophia as an honorable mention.
Laphicet from Tales of Berseria: A malak whose will was sapped, now sticks to Velvet and develops a strong bond with her.
Rosa from Final Fantasy IV: The originator of the white mage who's not a mute.
Elliot Craig from Trails of Cold Steel: AOE healing through music's so badass.
Bindo from Knights of the Old Republic. A healer Jedi found in the bottom of Kashyyyk. Mace Windu, eat your heart out.
Tsubasa Oribe from Tokyo Mirage Sessions: Ambitious driven, and slightly ditzy, she will help her friends through her singing and battle capabilities with Caeda at her beck and call. She should've been the protagonist instead of Generic MC 1 million Itsuki.
Love seeing Legend of Dragoon at least as a transition. I adore that game so much
As someone who usually plays Legends of Runeterra, Soraka is definitely worthy of the list. Her playstyle is basically "Heal allies enough to enable another healing card to instantly win the game". Being one of the defining cards of a heal deck makes her stand out from the rest of the crowd.
Man I would've been mad if none of the healers of Overwatch wouldn't be mentioned.
That being said, I know these are Josh's personal lists, but I would've appreciated even a slight nod towards Disgaea-series and their cast of healers, whether the story characters or the stock ones one can create during playtroughs to bolster the ranks. Heck, even some monsters in the series can be effective healers on their own, even though in the latest iterations of the series allow you to make any character in the roster, with high enough RES-stat, a healer.
I'm a bit disapointed that Kloe from trails in sky is not here
Top 10 Snake Bosses, calling it right now.
Didn't know you played Legend of the Dragoon. XD
I always look forward to these videos, especially because of the epic intro
Trauma Center was one of the first games I had for my DS.
Just gonna give a personal mention of Shionne(Tales of Arise) Gallows(wild arms 3) and Serena (Dragon quest 11)
Honorable mention...
Keyaru goodnight everybody!🤣
The greatest healer once said:
My rod, or this rod?
Here's my honorable mentions to:
Mercy and Baptise (Overwatch)
Barbara (Genshin Impact)
Jude Mathis (Tales of Xillia)
Lifeline (Apex Legends)
Barbara is my favorite healer alongside Kokomi
Just gonna give mention to Nia from XC2 and Serena from DQ11 since I imagine they aren’t gonna be on the list.😅
Who wants to bet that was Fawful's Minion on the phone?
I like the friendly healers just as much as the next guy, but characters like Medic from Team Fortress is a breath of fresh air.
I made a written list of my fav Video Game Special moves years ago. My #1, ANY TYPE of Healing Spell! I seriously don't think one can defeat game without it, if it's available. Especially in RPGs. The Healers for me are one of the most vital party member.
what about no hit runs?
