I have tonight been explaing to a writer on my local FaceBook pages after the chap was saying he found it hard to play chords due to his fingers being arthritic. I was telling him how I myself am now nearly 73 years old and only picked my 1st guitar at 70 and certainly too late to learn fancy guitar chords. I explained how I learnt about playing in " open E " using one finger for the bar chord, I recently found " open G " which is also very nice on my hearing. It's great to see your video tonight going through the same subject. Thanks for a lovely video. 🇬🇧🎸👍
You are certainly welcome. Tell your friend he can play. I plan on doing many different recordings on playing with arthritis. You will find open D also the same patterns. Of course, to change things using a capo you count down from the capo. Thanks again.
2.5 years ago had bad truck wreck. ive had 4 operations on my hands. bones removed from both. Ive pled guitar from 1960 til today as a hobby. shouldrr damage prevented play accoustics. last feb went to a gretch 5422 thin bodied hollow electric tuned to open D and have been working hard at ifinger style sense. Its great therapy. i recomend
Thank you very much. My late father had arthritis, and he was a better guitar player than I ever hope to be. I plan on making many recording like this and I'm picking up some great tips from you and other people. I thank you and I'm very grateful. Thank you again --)Rod
Dear Rod, a lovely Monday morning greetings from me. Thank you for sharing your tutorial, can see your guitar and listen to you clearly! God's blessing be with you, your family and your four puppies Delilah, Sky, Cocoa and Daisie 🙏🧡🤗
Hi Janet and thank you for the advice. I didn't know the camera could be on its side. This is much better. So far, these videos haven't caught on but if they help just one person it will be a blessing. A blessing to me for sure. I'm thankful God gives me the knowledge. The puppies are all full and have plenty of water. Of course they are all sleeping. lol God bless you and family Janet. Thank you again for the advice. --)Rod
@rodbrock4759 Dear Rod, I'm glad it works well! You just carry on with your passion in passing down the knowledge, sometimes it may takes a while before it catches one's attention. Yes Rod, we're thankful that God gives us the knowledge every day as we live. Puppies are so happy with you, pat them for me please when they're awake. I wish you a good night Rod, God's blessing be with you, your family and your four puppies always 🙏🧡😊
@@janetchungNKen Hi Janet and thank you. Yes it might take a while to catch on but like i mentioned if it only helps one person, we both will be blessed. I have several simple and easy to explain videos to make. God bless you and family --)Rod
@@rodbrock4759 Dear Rod, a lovely Monday morning to you and good evening from me, it's 10:10pm now and I'll be going to bed in 10 minutes. Yes Rod, doesn't matter, one day someone will catch it, we leave it to God to arrange. You continue to record them okay. You have a good day with the four puppies, God bless always. Good night from me 🙏🧡🤗

That is good advice to use those tunings but I also have numbness in my hands which won't allow me to play very long. Anybody have a good idea for that issue?
My late father had the same problem. I plan on making more recording. These open tuning with one finger should help. Also, if your finger hurt you can use a ballon or tape. It will sound the same once you have the balloon or tape in position. Just move both around until it sounds the same. I can still chord but I still use these methods on many songs I wrote or sing, Thank you again so very much. Keep playing!!!! --)Rod
