I love your video! I use the scapes for a pesto, so I'll stick with cutting off roots and tops. Thank you for all your knowledge sharing. Way easier than it was in my head.

I apologize. This was several years and very much a "homegrown" type production :0)

So do you think the garlic and lavender sprays would work to keep ear mites away from rabbits, too?

How do you store it so it doesn't dry out?

You can braid the scapes and hang it in a cool, dark place. Or just cut off the tops and roots and store it in your pantry or dry cool spot. I have a wicker basket in my pantry where I store my onions and garlic.

I've heard that if you feed onions or garlic to ducks or chickens that their eggs will have that taste. I've heard this from a number of people. What everyone else know about this?

      @FreshEggsDaily  8 років тому +1

+James Heasley Not true. I add garlic powder to my chickens and ducks daily feed and also give them fresh garlic on occasion. I've never had garlic-tasting eggs. That's one of those old wives tales that get repeated over and over until people believe it. Or it's in people's heads.

I aways have enjoyed your videos. Thanks for responding personally :)
I would like to plant some garlic hear in North Central Indiana this October, but I'm not sure where I can hang out to dry. I have very limited space in our shed and if I squeezed room into our partially heated garage I would be concerned about the odor. What do you think?

+James Heasley drying garlic shouldn't smell. I dry it right in the house.

OK, just makes me nervous never drying it. Thanks for the info.

    Hi Lisa. Great info. Thanks!
There's an interesting situation regarding a playlist I published just yesterday. All of its videos (just 3 for now but there will be a total of 9, hopefully in the not _too_ distant future) are currently ranking in the top spots in UA-cam search for the keyword (or "key phrase", if you will) *farm fresh eggs daily*, as can be seen from the following screenshot of my TubeBuddy (www.tubebuddy.com/) Tag Explorer results: i.imgur.com/sqFC6Ow.png and also at ua-cam.com/users/results?search_query=farm+fresh+eggs+daily (You'll also notice that your channel owns 6 of the first 20 results, which is pretty awesome!) But the funny thing is, I'm not trying to rank for that term! If you were to check the tags for all of those videos (use www.betterwaytoweb.com/tag-generator-for-youtube) you'll see that none of them is *farm fresh eggs daily*. Moreover, none of the video descriptions mentions that keyword. The only place it appears is in the titles of the videos. My mentioning that keyword within the first and last 10 seconds of each video may also have something to do with it. (The following video explains why I did that: ua-cam.com/video/aMxO-_5wpfQ/v-deo.html).
The keyword I _really_ want to rank for is *diy chicken coop plans* but there's more competition for that one. One of the reasons I settled on naming my channel *DIY Chicken Coop Plans for Farm Fresh Eggs Daily* after many iterations of name changes (one of which can be seen in the TubeBuddy Tag Explorer screenshot) is that there's already a channel named *DIY Chicken Coop Plans*. Plus, knowing that the main goal of most chicken coop owners is to get fresh, chemical free eggs daily, I added *for Farm Fresh Eggs Daily*. (There are also SEO benefits to be derived from having a channel's name match the titles of its videos and/or playlists.)
Anyway, I figure that since my videos are currently ranking for "farm fresh eggs daily" and that keyword is more congruent with your channel's videos than mine, I'll point users who reach my playlist via that search query, to your channel, so they would still feel like they found what they were looking for. After all, the main concern of Google (UA-cam's owner) is that users find the most relevant content for which they're searching.
P.S. Even if the eggs tasted like garlic, that wouldn't be such a bad thing. I, for one, often sprinkle powdered garlic on my fried eggs anyway! lol

Hi there. Interesting and I get what you're saying, but I really need to ask that you change the name of your channel. I have trademarked "Fresh Eggs Daily" and your channel names seems to violate that trademark, since my fans could very easily be confused thinking that your channel is affiliated with me in some way. Thank you!

No problem, Lisa. I'll do that sometime later today.

Lisa, I've removed "Daily" from my channel name and the video's titles, and also removed the text from my channel art. Is it okay if I leave my audible opening and closing narrations (intros and outros) in each video as is? (I can redo them if necessary. It's just that it would be a bit of a hassle.)
      Looking forward to your reply.
