Hi, I've got a quick Upwork freelancing question. I run an existing business, and just want to do some freelance writing on the side to get extra money that I can invest back into the main business. I'd like to make an extra $1k to $2k per month from freelancing jobs. My question is, do you have any tips for how I can get enough work to earn that amount. but not so much work that I end up over scheduled and unable to meet my obligations for my primary business? Thanks.
I have completed 85% of my profile settings. As I am a newbie here, hence could not give anything in 'work history', 'portfolio', 'employment history', or 'other experiences' sections. But I have a good knowledge and off line experience in the fields of works with typing and data entry jobs. I am unable to showcase my offline experiences in portfolio in Upwork. I am trying to obtain a job for three months, but not getting still. Please advice me that how I can get my first job in Upwork.
Hi! I just completed my job on Upwork, how to see whether the client gives me 5stars or not? In which feature menu? Because I am a beginner on Upwork, looking forward to your reply
Great question. To see the individual feedback of each Upwork project or client, try this: 1. Go to My Jobs › All Contracts 2. Check the Include closed contracts box (this is important to see previous projects) 3. Click the title of the contract to get to the details page 4. Click Terms & Settings to view the feedback (it's kindof hidden, but should be there!)
@@milloteam My profile is 100% completed. I sent 15 proposals on which client visited less than hour ago. I have Masters degree in Economics. Qualified in State and National level competitive exams. Showcased my excel, content writing and research paper writing skills. Still Zero response. Wasted more than 60 connects. Forget getting an offer, nobody even declined even one proposal.. Am I wrong in somewhere?? It looks all fraud to me. UpWork just wants us to buy connects. Nothing else. Please reply.
I do nothing but small jobs on my connects but nothing. you only get an invite if you already have a client. so what you're saying is actually easier said than done.
Hi! Was just noticing in your blog post related to this video you say the Upwork fee is 20% until the client spends $10k. But it’s actually 20% on the first $500, then 10% til you hit $10k. It then drops to 5% You might want to fix that. Great quality video btw! From your article: “Upwork takes a 20% fee until the client has spent over $10,000 with you, where the fee then decreases to 10%.”
Thanks so much for the help. We’ll definitely take a look and fix any discrepancies in the article. Thanks for reading too! How long have you been Upwork-ing?
Wow. That's incredible! Looks like you're trying to grow your UA-cam... maybe we should collab. We've only been on YT since March but learning a TON. :) millo.co/contact
"How to Get Jobs on Upwork in 7 Days", what a BS title! Your success on Upwork depends on your reviews and to get reviews you need to do jobs! Meaning it won't happen in seven days. Once you get your first job things can change but for sure it won't happen in 7 days. You will be very lucky if you get ONE job. It can take a while for you to land your first job at Upwork!
Thanks for sharing your experience! It can definitely take time, but we’ve worked with freelancers who were able to land jobs within 7 days. What we’ve seen is it varies widely by industry too. I’m curious why you say you can’t get your first job in 7 days… How long should it take and why? Thanks for the honesty!
Hi Bro. What do you think if the client with no payment verification method, new user, and with no review? Is it good to accept the offer? I worry about that kind of a scam
Im new on freelancing and in upwork, Is it normal to be asked by the employer to pay first for the "insurance deposit"? They say its for the assurance that you'll finish the job and will be refunded when you finished the job before the deadline. Or its just a scheme to get money from people. Please tell me your thoughts about this sir.
It’s definitely a scam!! Don’t do it. And keep all communication on the Upwork platform. If they make this request via Upwork, report them. More details here: community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/Insurance-Deposit/m-p/1019652/highlight/true

That can definitely be frustrating. Some industries have higher response rates. In our experience it’s a matter of testing and refining your pitch and profile. It takes time and a small investment.
@@milloteam Okays! I would definitely feel it's a loss in the part of those clients who failed to browse for good Freelancers like me. Because I know how dedicated I am with my work and talent-wise, I got through those exams in which 999 others got failed. I do Freelancing domestically. Will never priorities money over my clients' satisfaction.
Hi ! How exactly do we get the small jobs on upwork? Getting any job on upwork is a major challenge
Great tips! I'll definitely start with lower-paying projects to start building my reputation. Cheers!

How many job postings do you respond to each day? For most new freelancers, it's a numbers game. Which means you have to respond to a LOT of jobs.

The only way we know of to apply for a job without "connects" is to be requested by the client. Sorry!
so which things you do so the client give you the response?

This is like everyone saying to keep your profile optimized. But how? show an example so people can understand you better.

Yes, definitely. But keep in mind that a client's time is valuable. So they don't have tons of time to search. you have to make yourself stand out.
i am totally new to this so what should i write about my experience and skills i have almost completed my profile
Hi I have a jss of 65% and I haven't gotten a job or messages for 3 months now , what should I do
Have you been sending pitches? Or just waiting for invites? What’s your offering?
