    Thank you brother! I may not be lucky enough to land my first client in Upwork yet, but I have a strong feeling that this tips you mentioned will help me a lot! I had immediately optimized my profile while watching! 😄 I'll keep in mind those other things you mentioned especially about the proposal. I really appreciate what you taught here bro, thank you brother!

    @freelanceFamilyman thank you for your great advice. I already updated my profile and cover letter to make it stand out. I noticed you said at 10:16 that without actual work performed on Upwork one cannot have a portfolio. It's not entirely correct. One can create a portfolio regardless of being new to the platform. Admittedly it's easier when the freelancer offers visual services such as videos or graphics. Although, Nancy P in your example could have uploaded recommendation letters for her SEO work to create a portfolio.

    • @FreelanceFamilyMan
      @FreelanceFamilyMan  Рік тому

      I don't believe I said it like that, if so it was a mistake or I wasn't clear. I usually say to beginners that they do not need actual work on upwork to have a portfolio, they can pull from any experience they've had outside upwork to create an initial portfolio.

      I logged into my client account, and yeah, proposals that don't meet the criteria are put in another tab. My personal stance now is that if I see a job posting with a red exclamation point (meaning I don't meet the preferred qualifications), I don't bother.@@itsmogamal

I have just recently moved from the rising talent badge to a 100% JSS and still have yet to be “invited” to a job. What do you think is going on? Hey man, I am a Top-Rated freelancer on Upwork. A few days back, I added a new portfolio to my profile, changed a title name (Just added a single keyword), and also updated my profile description. Later on, I saw my Top-Rated badge got disappeared for probably 4 days. I just want to confirm if I change/update my profile description, is there a chance of my badge getting disappeared again? or does it ever happen to you as well?

    • @FreelanceFamilyMan
      @FreelanceFamilyMan  Рік тому +1

      That would have been a glitch, updating your profile and description should never cause your top rated badge to go away, I would talk to upwork support about that if it happens again because probably some error on their end.

    Freelancers in the community section say that something changed at Upwork this 2023 where proposals are not even being seen by clients, what is true about that from your perspective as client?

    • @FreelanceFamilyMan
      @FreelanceFamilyMan  Рік тому

      All proposals sent by a freelancer will go to the client's proposal tab but that doesn't mean they'll open it and read it. If they have 50 proposals, they may just scan through, look at your profile and the summary of your stats and then decide whether to read your proposal or not. So in that case, your proposal might not be ready if your main stats or first sentence of the profile description is not impressive enough but your proposal isn't being sent to their feed.

  • @SammyLame
    @SammyLame Рік тому

    It dosnt even matter how my proposal look like, i can be nice i can be polite, i can show them portfolio or do the task they ask as a proof of my quality work. I can even make them see the jesus. But they dont even click my proposal because there is no upwork experiences. It is so sad how upwork push up experienced freelancers and push down no experienced guys. It should be the otherway because the small guys need help not the big one.

    • @FreelanceFamilyMan
      @FreelanceFamilyMan  Рік тому

      Since I've also hired freelancers on upwork, I can tell you that Upwork actually does push profiles to the top that are brand new freelancers if everything is optimized well
