It's in f minor which is why he can't do it bc it's a major to minor series not minor to major although I'd love it if he started doing minor to major vids as well. But being a musician myself I know it's harder to transpose a piece from minor to major. I mean, it would be amazing if he could do a normal cover of it though too..

I wasn’t really a fan of Post Malone until hearing this song and I was like “damn that’s actually pretty good, idk if it could get any better though, kinda hope it can” and then boom, you crushed it

Okay, maybe I'm "out of touch" with current pop music, but I'm not familiar with Post Malone or this song. I was tempted to listen to the original first, but on a whim decided to listen to this minor-key version without any prior knowledge of the original. I liked it a lot and was interested to hear the original, expecting to like it even more. Wow, what a surprise. The original? It's nice, and technically easier on the ears than Chase's interpretation, but it is ultimately rather forgettable. My wife called it "elevator pop music" and I have to agree. By contrast, this minor version is a compelling melody which I found more distinctive, more memorable, and overall I felt it fit the theme of the lyrics better too. The struggle of the singer simply doesn't ring true in the happy, boppy Post Malone version, while the Holfeder version grips you as you listen to it. Lastly, I preferred the slightly glitchy, almost techno sound style of this version over the synth-folk-pop style of the original. A tiny bit harsher sounding, but again, this made for a much better fit with both the melody and the lyrical message and theme. I can see myself choosing to listen to this version again and again, while I don't care if I hear the original again - it's so neutral and bland that it seamlessly blends into all the other over-crafted background pop. Post Malone's version sounds like it was composed with the aide of an AI algorithm of "what charts best", while Chase Holfelder's version sounds like someone actually put creative interpretation and characteristic effort into it. Far superior to the original. I wish I could "Like" it several times.
I have never heard of most of the songs he does this with, not am I familiar with the artist. I'm pretty sure all I knew were the patriotic songs, fortunate son, and my way.
Not a fan of Post Malone, I find him so boring ;^^ Chase really brought this song to a whole other level!

The quality of these remakes is just out of this world. You could always go the easy route and just change the key and sing it, but you DON'T. You make it something of your own. Amazing as always.
