Ugh I can relate to your entire trip. A few years ago in college we went on vacation to Amsterdam and prior to our trip, my wallet was stolen and it had everything in it, including money I had saved up for my trip. My dad died when my mother was pregnant on me and I had something in there belonging to him, the only physical thing I had of his. So I learned never to leave sentimental things in my purse. When we went to Amsterdam, my shoe broke so my friends had to go back to our hotel to get another pair. I sat down on a bench to change my shoes and put my phone down beside me. There were two guys sitting behind me. We walked off and then I realised I left my phone on the bench and when I went back to get it, it was gone. I asked the two men and they helped me search but I know they had it, it is Amsterdam after all 😂 So yeah, I can totally relate to your experience Sam. Luck was not on our side!

I’m sorry for everything that happened that’s so draining. I’m glad you had your best friend and was able to contact your family and just let it out. I know it sucks but I’m glad your well and safe. Make sure to take a break for yourself even if it means no video. Thanks for sharing your story, sometimes when it rains it pours. I went to a lake house with a group of 10 friends for the weekend by Sunday one girl had left in the middle of the night from fighting with their boyfriend and 2 other friends wrestled around the outside of a biker bar at 2am. Not to mention our boat got stranded out on the lake:) so you’re not alone LOL

I'm glad that you shared this story, this might sound very deep, but social media can lie to one sometimes, you see someone's post about their travels, thinking that they are having the time of their life, everything is good on social media, but you never know what happens behind the scenes.
We the good folks of Florida owe you a better vacation Sam. Marco Island, Aly Beach, Indian Rocks, or St.Pete beach. ANYWHERE but Miami!!! A lot of us Floridians would love nothing more than to see Miami break off and drift out into the Atlantic Ocean. The 305 is a total embarrassment to our state especially right now because a lot of folks are visiting from places like Chicago and the streets are extra lit down there. I live in Tampa by way of Ocala FL and I avoid Miami at all costs lol. Your UA-cam family is glad you made back hone safe. Big props to Jake for stepping up and handling his business like a man. Sounds like he’s earned a cameo lol.
Jeez, Sam -- you are totally right that the most important thing is that you are safe, and yes, things can be replaced, but dang, what a serious bummer on your trip. I'm so sorry that happened to you. It is pretty much my worst travel nightmare personified, other than serious injury or illness. Props for family and friends who had your back. I am traveling out of state for a big event at the end of June (first time really traveling since February 2020), and I bought a wallet case specifically for the trip b/c no bags of any kind (even small purses) are allowed in the venue, and you can bet I will be guarding it like a hawk after hearing your story. Best wishes for dose number 2. My second one knocked me out for the day following it, and then I felt better. Thank you for all you do to give us excellent content. You are my favorite ASMRtist. :-)

I was in Chicago 2 yrs ago on Memorial Day weekend, the Uber drivers legit- were foreign persons who had no idea how to get around the city. I thinks its a good PSA that we women are aware of our surroundings in Ubers.

It’s actually sad how addicted we are to our phones🥺 I am the same. If I’d lose my phone I’d freak out. Everything is on there (which is not safe)…I always check my bag for my phone& wallet whenever I get off Uber or anything really, I think it became like a habit. This was indeed an adventure. Good that you are back home& safe.
I don't know how you did that honestly and I give you props for surviving. A trip without my phone or any of my credit or debit cards, I think I would honestly commit. I am so sorry your trip didn't go as planned.

I never understood why people used those wallet cases. Disaster waiting to happen. I feel you though I’ve lost so many phones over the years it’s so awful
okay, this whole situation is sooooo horrible BUT it's happened to be so many times in vegas. 😂 couple pointers from a gal who notoriously loses things when drinking: 1) always keep a photo of your ID on your phone for flying back or make a copy of your drivers license... you can fly back home, it'll just take extra security screening, 2) set up apple pay for a card you don't travel with or use that much, just in case your wallet gets lost or stolen, that way, you have money from an account you didn't have to cancel or freeze (obviously doesn't help you if your phone was stolen) 3) just in case you find your cards again, you can always freeze them so you don't have to go through the pain of reordering all your cards. such a crappy situation and i'm so sorry!!

Jake is the real mvp here. As for me, I do remember when I was way younger on a camping trip, I left my phone in one of the bathrooms in the state park and it wasn't where I left it. We tried calling it, no avail. Next morning, I went back into that bathroom and...there was my phone. So weird. And most recently, about three years ago now, I didn't lose anything during a trip to New Orleans, but I did ruin my entire experience by getting so dehydrated that I had to be taken to emergency room. And I was all alone too. It was...not pretty. So the next time I traveled by myself, I had a water bottle practically glued to my person. I'm so sorry your trip was ruined but thankfully you had people around you for support! I saw your Insta photo and I love the swim suit!

I'm from South Africa and our uber does have the driver's personal number for either if you lost something or you want to check how far he is if he's taking too long

I went to visit my daughter in her new apartment. I live about 1 hour from LA and she moved to Hollywood. So, her apartment is not very accessible. I can’t just walk up to her door. So that being said…I forgot my phone in her apartment and I realized it when I was stuck in traffic. The terror of being without your phone is real. I turned around and the whole way I was trying to remember her # to ask the front desk to call her down. Luckily I remembered, she answered and came down. I know what you went through was far more dyer but I can relate.
Only in Miami where you can get a room with two queen beds and a see-through shower.😂
I do CAN relate to. It does take a toll emotionally and mentally when losing something personal but like you said things can be replace.

When I holiday ( I’m in the UK ). I actually leave my phone at home. My wife brings hers. But when I’m on my downtime. I don’t want to hear or talk with anyone. As for Uber, I’ve never used their services and after hearing about the lack of service on their end I won’t use them that’s for sure.
