What’s one thing you’d change to improve the Hulu Live interface?
I NEED to be able to arrange the favorite channels in the order I choose for LIVE TV viewing. It's painful to have to scroll through screens at a time to get to NBC, for instance. I know you can access in Recents, or whatever, but it's just an easy fix (it would seem) to solve a critical issue.
@@paulc8752 It's not that difficult to scroll through FAVORITES- you probably don't remember getting up every time to switch the channel!
I feel like they need to assign channel numbers so you can type in the number and go straight there. Also, I would like to be able to select one channel on the guide and have it open as a list and be able to quickly scroll through future shows on the guide instead of having to tab over one by one.
@@beetleblooming Well that's what FAVORITE Channels is for- you set only your favorites
there. Then you scroll CHANNELS for the rest.
But maybe I want to watch something that isn’t my favorites and I don’t want to scroll through all the channels! It would still be way more efficient to assign numbers to channels.
The feature I miss most in streaming versus cable is having each channel assigned a number and then be able to get to a channel by pressing one or more digits on the remote. Along with this, I miss ability to go back to the previous channel by just pressing a button on the remote.
A couple of months ago, I paused my UA-cam tv subscription and tried Hulu with live tv for a month just to see if it had improved enough to interest me again as a regular subscriber.
As far as pricing, they are within a couple of dollars of each other if I were to subscribe to the Hulu bundle in addition to UA-cam tv.
The advantage I found was the integration of ESPN Plus into the channel guide with Hulu.
Also, Hulu has since added the Weather Channel to their lineup, which was a major issue with me since I live in Florida.
I still much prefer the UA-cam tv UI over Hulu, and I found the constant buffering, which was STILL happening at the beginning of live shows on Hulu to be very aggravating, although not a deal killer.
Both are good services, but the UA-cam tv UI, IMO is much better, and the easily customized channel guide is a real plus.
The bottom line for me is that even though they are much improved, I STILL prefer the UA-cam tv experience when it comes to live tv viewing.
I think that whichever service someone may choose, they will have a very good experience.
Lastly, I would like to see Hulu with live tv make their channel guide fully customizable like the UA-cam tv guide.
All solid insights. 🙂 We've been with Hulu Live since the beginning of CFB season since they were running their deal making them pretty much equal to what we'd need with Sling.
The buffering is a real issue. We've not seen anything like it in other services. And, like you're seeing vs. YT TV, their UI could use some improvements...especially for the cost.
They need to upgrade that & stop it with the goofy price increases to make them someone we're more comfortable recommending.
That said, it does *some* decent value with the inclusion of the Disney bundle and the recent addition of TWC & Hallmark makes the lineup a bit more compelling.
@@FrugalRules ONE thing I forgot to mention is the CFB Extra that Hulu has.
It gives access to quite a few more games that you might not otherwise be able to watch.

How do you set up to record aa series?
Hulu Live finally added unlimited dvr. Now if they can allow fast forward while watching on dvr and add a third screen instead of two then they will be on par with my favorite UA-cam TV
That is a gripe of ours as well, especially if the show you're recording is still running. And, yes, they need to add that third screen. 🙂
I have it on 3 screens and I can fast forward.
@@robinhanscom1882 Do you have the unlimited screens add-on? That's the only way to get more than two simultaneous screens with Hulu Live.

Is there a way to quickly navigate to a network without having to scroll All the way down the list? For example wanting to get to TV Land but the guide starts at A&E

I actually like Hulu Live better than any other streaming service. I like that I get ESPN+ and I really like the Hulu Streaming library, I'm not into Disney+ personally but it's a nice bonus. The fast forward and rewind are not as good as other streaming services, it's a hit and miss type of situation and why can't you rewind through ads you've already watched?? That makes no sense. I'm currently watching live tv with Directv Stream, I like the interface and how when you click the button to go to Directv Stream it automatically goes live to the last channel you were watching. With that being said, I miss Hulu streaming library and ESPN+ for free so much I want to go back to Hulu. Hulu is my top choice for streaming live tv but there is improvements that need to be made.
Yes, there are definitely some improvements they could do to make them even more competitive. The bundle really is a solid selling feature, we just wish they'd invest in to some UI upgrades.

Not sure why i don’t have the “best available” on my Hulu. I bought an expensive tv to watch 4k sports and it’s like I’m watching it on a tv i had 9 years ago. Any suggestions?

I would LOVE to be able to rearrange the way my channels appear. I don't want them arranged alphabetically. i prefer to klump them together based on type or which ones I watch most. Also, why are my local channels not all at the top of the guide?
All fair points. Sadly, Hulu Live is behind the game in terms of handling/improving its tech, in our opinion. That said, the only real to customize the live guide is to favorite channels. That'll allow you to go to that to access just the channels you want. It's not perfect, by any means, but solves *some* of the problem.
Like to know how to record a Series show on live TV
so if we record shows or add shows to our library for recording on hulu live tv can we fast forward those shows? like they do on youtube tv?
Yep, you can. The one catch is that Hulu Live won't allow you to fast-forward through commercials if the show is still airing live. Once it's done airing live though you can fast-forward.

I just got Hulu. The Ole Miss game Saturday went 15min over. Somehow it added the extra time on it's own.

That's a known issue with Hulu Live unfortunately. They're also not putting any resources to fix it, so you'll have to manually set it to record each week.

All other Apps are fine.
They have a number of known bugs with their platform and they're not investing the resources necessary to fix them unfortunately.

No, you can't rearrange on Hulu Live like YT TV does. But, you can favorite channels which you can then access on the favorites tab.
I can't fix my time zone on my hulu live. I can't watch fox 9 news.

I don’t like being forced to pay for Disney+ and ESPN+. It’s not my fault your streaming service is performing poorly and no one is subscribing. Stop forcing people to pay for crap they don’t want. Hulu also raised my bill AGAIN last week and the reasoning behind it was for “dynamics”. I asked WTH is dynamics and they couldn’t give me an answer. If I choose not to pay my bill that’s a problem but they can just raise my bill price for any reason they want? No thanks.
Yes, they can. You aren't under contract with them buddy. That's why you can cancel at any time. By the way, every streaming service sucks at something. They all go up in price. It's simply that Hulu offers the MOST. They have an on demand service with live TV and you can even get that ''on demand service'' without ads. UA-cam doesn't have that. Sling doesn't have that. Hulu is definitely not perfect and I hate being forced to pay for ESPN but I do like Disney+. If you get regular cable like Comcast or Fio like Verizon and you want everything from them, it's about the same price if not more AND you're under contract. They ALL suck.
