We got the guys one of the 20ds each for Iraq. Easy to hide and they’ve got some punch in .40 sw. We mostly bought them because we had money to waste and they looked great fun.
I do love the Chiappa. I have the 200DS which is similar. But yeah, "Rhino Thumb" is a thing. It's unfortunate they didn't think up something to mitigate it for those used to traditional revolvers and how to hold them. But when you can fire full house .357 magnum with no meaningful recoil it's something easy enough to work around.
People that are used to shooting semi autos. I have a Rhino and if I take it to the range with my other range toys I occasionally forget and get a singed thumb. Doesn't happen very often and I've learned that when i do take it I try to shoot that first so I don't fall back into semi auto grip.
Mike R true, but it does happen. I’ve shot some hot .357 rounds from that little pistol and been singed a few times. Thankfully not too bad and didn’t leave anything other than a little extra soot on the time. I’d hate to have a firmer grip where the gasses really get toasty and thumb a little warmer. All in all a nice piece though.
Kahlil Pfaff I have been shooting for over 30 years and absolutely feel the Rhino is the easiest .357 to shoot and that’s why it’s my EDC. I was skeptical at first but once I owned it I love it.
Mike R I love my 20Ds, have my eyes on 4” at some point. One of my unicorn guns if I have the cash one day is the 6 unica. On my 20 I replaced the rubber grips with the Chiappa olive wood. I don’t think the wood really makes that much of a difference in felt recoil and as far as appearance the wood looks great on the matte black. .38 spl is almost like .22 plinking.

Yup, 2 thumbs forward on a revolver is not the way to go.
Yeah...Unless you want Powder Burns

I'd give you 2 thumbs up, but my chiappa incapacitated my left one.
It's look cute, but it's firing sound is impressive
.357 out a 2" barrel. It's sub-flamethrower hahah
Who shoots a revolver with their thumbs forward anyway??

used by Annie Walker in the Covert Afairs series
Gotta watch those thumbs on a revolver champ, lol.
Has anyone noticed the reduced recoil with the discharge coming from the 'bottom' of the cylinder versus the standard, topmost?
Gets burned, still doesnt modify grip, lol..
Why you holdin your revolver like that!?
Hey is your rhino cut for moon clips? I'm planning to buy one soon and I want moon clips
