Mark, I'm 66 and everything you say about those times is spot on. Three discos in our town and we would flit between them to the soundtrack of 70s music - ELO, BeeGees, ABBA and many, many more - magical times, thanks for bringing it to mind again. More please.
I have fond memories of listening to this tune once, waiting for the last train to london after a fantastic weekend with someone I loved. A great tune.
One of the best ELOs. And the music is great, the lyrics without vulgarities that compared to many today, is poetry. And if you haven't heard it yet, you need to hear "Turn to Stone".
You clearly havent heard much (or any) modern music as practically NONE of it has "vulgarities". You don't get your songs played on radio (at least here in the UK otherwise). I'm a huge fan of ELO. I'm also a huge fan of many current groups/singers. Open yuor ears and listen toi music non matter when it was written/performed.
@@redcardinalistmodern music for me is irrelevant, so many times it's not even music and I'm satisfied with the past. I understand the current challenge, but I leave it up to you.
Another superb reaction Mark, when I first heard this back in 79 I also thought the high chorus sounded like the BeeGees. Jeff Lynne couldn’t do anything wrong at this time. You’ve got to do All Over the World - I guarantee you’ll love it
One of my favorite ELO songs . This was a great club song. Lol I can just picture taking over the dance floor at the infamous Studio 54 lol. Great Reaction Hector ❤️ much love.
Without a doubt, a top 10 ELO song for me, maybe top 5. It's so hard to even pick a top 10 with so many good ones to choose from. I know I am in the minority, but for me, Discovery is my favorite album. I was 14 when it came out. Out of the Blue comes in at #2, though it is very close.
Hi. Yes, it is mainly Jeff Lynne singing (and he does multi-layer on some songs) but also Kelly Groucutt does backing vocals. Jeff Lynne is the only song-writer, he is main vocals and guitar, and this also he produced the albums. He is not a producer - who has worked with The Beatles, Travelling Wilburys (he is one of the band - honestly, try "Handle With Care" or "End of the Line"), George Harrison, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, Roy Orbison - the list goes on. Jeff really is an under appreciated GENIUS.
I love watching you, you bring back songs I have forgotten about. Here is a like and comment to help your channel grow and get you the recognition you deserve.
Having been a lifelong fan of ELO ,myself and my daughter had front row seats in Liverpool on their recent visit and yes …we feel exactly the same as you !!!!
Jeff Lynne the musical chameleon hits you with that funky bass, disco beat and strings. Genius music by the boss. A wonderful reaction Hector to this dance floor masterclass. 🙏😊👍❤️
Tell you what, if I walked into a club and this was playing, I would forego the bar and head right to the dance floor. Whenever you restart this on the third, fourth, fifth+ time... you make me LOL and my cat looks at me like "What???" Another great ELO tune is "So Fine" or "Boy Blue." But any ELO you pick will be great!
I was in my teens when ELO were in their prime. Grown up with them, loved them ever since I heard Turn To Stone on the radio for the 1st time back in those days. Bought all their albums. Jeff Lynne is the main man behind them, songwriter, lead singer, guitarist, producer. I really dig your saying "every song the same, but different". Sometimes even very different if you listen to their early albums: ELO2, On The 3rd Day, Eldorado. I recall a quote from a bandmember of the 90's group Terrorvision who said if a song of ELO starts playing you fucking know it's them. Great to see how much you enjoy ELO! Cheers from Germany.
One of the best Disco dancing songs ever!!!!!!!!!!! Just like Bee Gees but clearly the ELO and its own style. Just imagine those years! I was a very little kid, but I went with my parents to their dance classes. Just imagine the kind of music I heard there: ELO, Bee Gees, ABBA, Village People, KC & the Sunshine Band, Earth Wind & Fire, etc...Pure Magic! Regards from Chile! 🙂
When this album came out I couldn't understand why no one else felt what I felt. You make my day as you express the joy I felt at the time that no one else seemed to get, I watch this reaction over and over as you express my feelings perfectly.
As usual mark a great reaction! These are one of my favourite bands,no matter what Jeff Lynne produced it gives you a feeling of happiness.Look forward to more elo reactions.
ALL ELO songs are the best ELO song. Do "TIME - Prologue and Twilight" You will NEVER hea a more perfect piece of music. It will scramble your noodles.
The two main vocalists in ELO were Jeff Lynne (Usually lead) and Kelly Grocutt (backing) though not related their vocals complemented each other perfectly. Bev Bevan, the drummer also provided occasional back up vocals, mainly doing the deeper vocals, that is him singing the "slow down" lyrics on Sweet Talking Woman.
As someone who was there during those times,, If I could bring you back to that time,, the only problem would be is that I wouldn't be able to get you to came back to now.
Welcome to the 70's my dear 😂 I grew up with the album "Time". Each time I hear one of their songs, I must crank the volume to the top and sing the hell out 😅
Abrazos y Paz
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, and it makes me sad I’ll never experience it for the first time again. But I absolutely love your reaction, it makes my heart so happy other people enjoy it so much. Hell yeah!
Another classic from ELO, they never fail to get the mood on the up. A couple more for you to think about having listen to, Turn to Stone and Stange Mahic they are both very different and so very good
Jeff writes any kind of music, prog rock, classic rock, pop, rock and roll, electronic. Don't know anyone else who writes such a diverse range of music 🤷
As usual, I adore you my good man! ❤ ELO, along with Pink Floyd and several others tend to be impeccable in quality of both recorded and live performances. This is top shelf, IMHO. 🎉
Oh man, you are the best utuber. I love the way you discover and comment the music 😂. Your enthusiasm is great. The Electric Light Orchestra is my absolute favourite band. There is so much to discover at this band. Keep on the good work 🤟
Absolutely brilliant reaction to one of the best groups around. I saw ELO in concert 1978 at Wembley arena. Fantastic then . Fantastic now. Absolutely enjoyed your video .
Yes! ELO Rules! I knew you'd love this one, Hector! Next from ELO, I suggest their 1976 classic, *"Rockaria".* You'll love it! (Studio version, of course.)
I know I’m showing my age however, you are correct about the dance floors were pumping and packed. Within the first 60 seconds produced the same energy you are showing on your channel every time 🔥🔥🔥
Jeff Lynne is the main singer song writer but there was 7 in the original group bev bevan ( drums ) Kelly broucutt ( bass ) Richard Tandy ( keyboards ) mik kaminski ( violin) Hugh mcdowell ( cello ) Melvyn Gale ( cello )
Hey Hector great seat on bum twister is a song called " POKER " By E.L.O.... love your out there joy and craziness you bring a smile and a lot of joy thank you.........
ELO now is just Jeff Lynne with touring musicians. But in the 70s & 80s it was a band with Lynne as the creative force, composer, producer, & lead vocals. But for its first few years it was TWO creative forces with Roy Wood as Lynne’s partner. But they ended up wanting to go in different musical directions, so with no acrimony, Wood left and formed Wizard.
omg, I haven't heard this song in decades! When it first came out it was "too disco-y" for me, but it is ELO and sounds great. Thanks, Mark, for reminding me of this one.
ELO was 50 years ahead of everyone. Jeff is a Pure Genius !!!!
What's difference between Jeff Lynne and God? God wishes he was Jeff Lynne. Jeff Lynne just knows.
Estas loco hermano 😂😂
You always seem to pick the best tunes and you never disappoint with the energy you bring..... always fun hanging out
Your ELO reactions are just so good. Fantastic

Love this 🫶🏼

This is staggering ..I am 65 and spent many nights dancing to this and much more.
One of my favorite ELO songs . This was a great club song. Lol I can just picture taking over the dance floor at the infamous Studio 54 lol. Great Reaction Hector ❤️ much love.

Man love your reactions .. always so full of joy ... ELO one of my fav bands ever... and you've just scratched the surface ... Enjoy the journey
After this reaction, I think if you listened to “Shine a Little Love” you’d simply explode with excitement! Hear it at your own peril.
You are so expressive and fun to be with on these reactions.
I love watching you, you bring back songs I have forgotten about. Here is a like and comment to help your channel grow and get you the recognition you deserve.

One of my favorites Hector!!!!! Ear candy,….Jeff Lynne Brilliance…. Another wild ride Bro……. Thank you!!!
Tell you what, if I walked into a club and this was playing, I would forego the bar and head right to the dance floor. Concerto for a rainy day will take you to your promised stratosphere, in 19 minutes you would have had the rollercoaster of all emotions.
Turn to stone! Turn to stone! Turn to stone!
We had class & style in the 70’s and 80’s and our music was also classy & sexy. So glad I got to grow up with the best musicians of those era’s.
7os fore sure ! 8os not so much, IMHO 😀
❤💪

Funk is such an underrated genre of music.
🚂 🙂
Ahhh...once again you brighten a dull day! Thank you so much for bringing back such good memories.
When this album came out I couldn't understand why no one else felt what I felt. You make my day as you express the joy I felt at the time that no one else seemed to get, I watch this reaction over and over as you express my feelings perfectly.
Just shows what a genius Jeff Lynne is, can turn his hand to any genre of Music 👍🎸🥁🎹🎼!!!!!!
As usual mark a great reaction! These are one of my favourite bands,no matter what Jeff Lynne produced it gives you a feeling of happiness.Look forward to more elo reactions.

Another great selection, great reaction, and a great use of my time......keep rocking out and enjoying the journey!
Maybe my favorite ELO song. Please react to Funkadelic - Maggot Brain
no misses. their entire discography.
So smooth I love that you're doing all these I can't believe how many I actually do Remember and it's great to hear them again❤️🔥🧠❤️🔥🧠
Above the Clouds is my absolute favourite ELO tune. You must try it. It will take you to the clouds and back.
this was as disco as ELO could get and it was good enough..Cheers!
We need to bring back Disco 🪩 ❤
the one GREAT ELO track that i never see mentioned ( yes i know their all great) is Dont Walk Away!
From the Xanadu soundtrack. Love all their songs on that soundtrack. How the song Xanadu didn't go to #1, I will never understand.
The dance floors were crowded in the 80's, whether you could dance or not. No one cared. Everyone had fun!💃💃
You are so right about the dancefloors Hector 😂 they're like lap dancing clubs now...😂😂😂😂😂
ELO could do no wrong during this period. A fabulous group!
Really really enjoy your reactions ,you crack me up bro
I;m lucky enough to have been old enough to hit the discos from 1977 onwards. And yes, i was suited and booted. Oh how sweet the girls were.
You are awesome! ❤🎉
basicly the 70's fucking ruled music wise !!! now you gotta do Turning to stone and Mr blue sky... the biggest Elo hits.
"turn to stone"
you make me laugh so much, thank you so much. I remember waiting for ELO to release every time, 70s-80's were my era what a time to be alive
My daughter bought me tickets to see them 2 years ago. It was,a Christmas gift and I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL LOVE YOU ANGEL A DREAM COME TRUE!!!!
Been waiting for this one great song. Try baker Street one day dude when you can .
As someone who was there during those times,, If I could bring you back to that time,, the only problem would be is that I wouldn't be able to get you to came back to now.
Welcome to the 70's my dear 😂 I grew up with the album "Time". Each time I hear one of their songs, I must crank the volume to the top and sing the hell out 😅
So you want Last Train to London played at your funeral? Pretty funny!
The song that got me into ELO. Glad to see you enjoying it.
Totally disco but still it bangs.
Abrazos y Paz

Oh man, you are the best utuber. I love the way you discover and comment the music 😂. Your enthusiasm is great. The Electric Light Orchestra is my absolute favourite band. There is so much to discover at this band. Keep on the good work 🤟
Another train related song from them: Across the Border. Has a mariachi flair to it.
What if Hector reacted to Mariachi El Bronx?
Great , just great mate.
Time for concerto for a rainy day.
Clubs were fantastic. Danced my arse off.
It’s so good to see your channel growing. I can always count on your realness when listening to awesome music. Always a treat when you drop. Thanks
Absolutely brilliant reaction to one of the best groups around.
I saw ELO in concert 1978 at Wembley arena.

The album was called Discovery - but the real pronunciation is Disco-Very
There’s a whole thing known as Northern Soul Dancing. Look it up, you’ll love it!
Hi again EARLOBE 😁 Another great ELO song 👍. I would really like for you to react to 10538 Overture 😎
Hey Hector great seat on bum twister is a song called " POKER " By E.L.O.... love your out there joy and craziness you bring a smile and a lot of joy thank you.........
great vibe, ELO aways puts you into a happy place. I can just imagine you walking into a club in a white suit...
I remember the album coming out. I saw it in Elpees in Bexley Village. That was 45 years ago. 😂
I thought it was Play that funky music at first and was like wait it's ELO 😂😂😂 You gotta do that song now!!!!
White suit clubbing 💯😂🎉
White suite clubbing will now be our goal in life!!!!
ELO now is just Jeff Lynne with touring musicians.

Shine a little love and Don't bring me down, from the same album next 👍
Please react to "Concerto for a Rainy Day", it is Amazing!
The next song on this album is confusion . My favorite on Discovery.
Great reaction. ELO was seventies pop perfection
Try - Don't Bring Me Down 👍
Shine A Little Love.
Yes babs, one of my old time favourites 😍
Jenny, you from Bristol, uk by any chance? We call everyone, me babs down here 😆😆❤️
omg, I haven't heard this song in decades! When it first came out it was "too disco-y" for me, but it is ELO and sounds great. Thanks, Mark, for reminding me of this one.

Kelly Groucutt. Fantastic bass player and also a great singer. Beautiful co-lead and backing vocals on this track.
