The reasons for going abroad aren't hard to work out; better job opportunities, higher pay, better quality of life, better quality of housing, better infrastructure, rule of law, ordered societies, lack of endemic and all-pervasive corruption, safer for women, no caste system, cleaner towns and cities without the pollution levels of India!
Rule of law, rule of law, rule of law. I can buy real estate in Netherlands without knowing ABCD of real estate but in India I cannot buy plot/house on outskirts of hyderabad for investment purpose because any goon with political backing can do double registration and occupy it as I cannot see real estate ownership details online
@@firstpostcommenter8078 Rule of law is part of proper functioning society, without you have chaos. You make my points for me with your real estate comparisons. As a foreigner I can't even buy property in India because of the silly protectionist and paranoid policies!
@@SenorSol Even if it is allowed, whats the point. Foreigner buys real estate. Indian goon will do double registration. Foreigner goes to court. Court drags case for decades. In Netherlands, I can buy real estate online and arrive at Notary for registration and I will not face any issues w.r.t ownership safety. For 5 years experience here the avg pay is 6-12LPA and it would take you 15 years or more to save enough to pay a home loan. But you can earn the same in less than 3 years to payoff loan if you work abroad.
What abt the cost of living in Western countries ? Real Estate & Healthcare is high cost. Middle East countries are a different story . The thing that makes me scratch my head as a non-Indian but who travels there often is how a country with such a high GDP and capable population can’t get their act together, clean up their country, administer it better and invest in infrastructure. You have the human talent but no one seems to focus on actually improving India. Been travelling there over 2 decades and it’s getting worse - more polluted, same decaying infrastructure and same level of poverty for the lower classes. Maybe India needs communism.
Its not just pay gap or lack of footpaths to walk on or pothole filled roads or pollution or bad laws. Its also about what to do with that money that you already earned. A person in Western country can convert EUR to INR for no reason (yes for no reason) if he wants. He can invest in real estate because he can view the real estate ownership details online. But in India, even people who have money are afraid to buy plots on outskirts of hyderabad because any goon with political backing can do double registration or outright occupy it and court cases take decades instead of minutes (yes I said minutes because why would you need more time if land records are properly maintained for every inch of land of India). So pay gap is one part of equation while what you can do with that money is that other side of the (economic) coin. INR is a waste currency as it is not fully convertible. Investing in real estate is not freely possible because anyone can occupy your plot/house

There are many gaps not just pay gap. most people are naive they don't (cannot) compute real wages ... real_wage = wage/price .. price data easily available ... just use a calculator on your smartphone
*Yes. It may take about 20 years to actually start having more and more high paying jobs. But remember that unless we focus on bringing a Rural revolution along with urbanisation , we will not have a good and sustainable economy where Economy serves the people. If we increase the income of the farmers by 3-4 times then we literally will have a great economy where the country will not have the burden of running the economy.
