Nice video. The thing with these gig jobs is that you get different kinds of incentives for hitting certain targets. For example, Swiggy/Zomato have daily incentives for hitting order or amount targets. Like if you make Rs.1000 from order earnings then you will get additional bonus of Rs.200 or if you deliver more than 20 orders then you will get additional Rs.200. But the catch is that these incentives are not easy to achieve unless you put in full effort and work almost 12-14 hours a day for full time and 4-6 hours for part-time. The journalist didn't aim for any target based incentives hence the earnings were low. On a good day you can make up-to Rs.1000 within 6-8 hours. Good day = Rains (more earning per order) + Weekend (more orders) + Less Traffic(quick deliveries).
One day I made 450₹ for working almost 12 hours. They don't value our time. Atleast they should pay hourly 30₹ for the time we spend. +need to increase the delivery charges.
And customers should pay 150 for items that cost 50. The delivery diver gets 30 for time and 10pkm(5km). Hotel charges 10 rupees as platform fees and Zomato/Swiggy gets 10. Why should they make money for sitting in AC rooms? They are not doing any job. Even a school kid can do their job.

The one sir mentioned before it was 40rs then 30rs and then 20rs and now it's 5rs per km. And I am sorry to mention 1 thing from my side that is about petrol. Before login delivery boys need to put petrol first for the next 12 to13hrs riding a bike. And so many points are there to discuss about less benefits and more losses in this field. And thanks to our KARNATAKA GOVERNMENT and other government parties also. Now they are getting into this for delivery boys'safes and benefits. And even thanks to you too bro

This is why investors think twice before investing in India. The term itself is called gig. Just do your job and take your money. This habit is asking for benefits as if it's a govt job needs to go. The government will take advantage of this try to collect cess which will obviously not be used for the benefit of the workers. The consequence of all this is higher product cost for end user which will eventually lead to lower demand. We as a country are shooting ourselves in the foot with such policies. If there is exploitation the workers will leave eventually. There should be laws but not that stiffle businesses. I wonder when will India come out of this mentality.
