Cool video man! I appreciate it 🙏! It is awesome to work with another UA-camr! Keep the good work coming. I also have a few astro van videos coming.
WooHoo....! Exciting... Really looking forward to that box getting here - I hope it does, recently sent a package to Canada that looks like it got lost along the way.
A couple things:
- Go back and snatch them seats and that headliner for your van (unless you plan to do your own ceiling)
- That paint-job reflected both the Arctic and antarctic - polar bears are in the arctic and penguins are in the antarctic :)
I really need to get to a junk yard - Thank YOU!
I could not figure out where exactly it was, but it sounds like one side of the van was the artic and the other was the antartic! I am definitely leaning towards grabbing the seats..
It was awesome seeing Mike Z un boxing the parts you sent !! It was really cool , you sending them !! God Bless !!
I am glad I was able to find the perfect part for him! Thank you for stopping by Rob!
That you for all your informative videos !! They are a big help !!
Very thoughtful of you to move the sliding door so the next guy can get in easier! Mike
🙏 immediate thought was exactly that when I was going for the hinge.
Oh wow....I've got the same issue on my 2005 Astro....the Grab handle has been broken, cracked....this was an awesome how to on getting a newish one....thanks for sharing..!!
They are definitely a bit rare. I’ve probably been through 8 vans in the junkyard and this was the only one that wasn’t broken. There is a chip on it, however. But not a big deal
Good score on that handle and trim pieces I think I'm going to make my handle out of wood keep the van videos coming been watching since you started
Hey, loving the build! I have found that for the handle bar the best thing to reinforce the interior where they break is to use JB weld, sand the inside a bit to have the JB weld hook onto something and let dry for a few days. I use that for anything that has to do with plastic pieces and it hardens as a rock. I’ve used it on sun visor clips and haven’t had an issue. Hope it helps. Keep up the great work!!
Hey, thanks for stopping by. I actually did that two videos ago! But, thank you for the suggestion. A lot more work to do with this van
@@ImChrisDeDecker oh snap you did?? Which video is that? I must have missed it.
@@mauricioallende7171 that’s alright! This one:

@@ImChrisDeDecker aahhhh for some reason I missed that video. Thanks!! BTW, I also have a van (not an Astro van, someday) but I had some rust spots and bought some rust remover( in liquid form) and it removed the rust and then I sprayed it with STEEL-It….. rust gone! Also steel it is an awesome product, check it out for your projects. Again keep up the good work!!
I have a 98 Astro van and it has skulls all over it it's pretty cool I learn a lot from your videos and go Gators
Dude, that’s awesome. I enjoy seeing peoples personality on their work
Can’t wait until they start playing again!
Did I detect a hint of Ed Bassmaster going on with that door? LOl
Maybe you did.. Surprised no one else caught that
Another thought.... Why not grab a new dash?
I am actually pretty happy with my dash! It would be cool to have the blue dash, though
My door locks open on my 97 until I grab the handle to shut it. I can make a short to show you if you're interested?
How do you get access to a junkyard❔
It’s a local yard that you pay an admission fee for. They are all over the US
great video, i just did not understand one thing, on my 1993 Astro i have to pull the handle on the sliding door forward to close it. Is it different on youre van?
I might be missing something, but the door handle doesn’t do anything when I push it forward. I don’t think there is a lever that would be do anything when pushing the handle forward. 🤔
@@ImChrisDeDecker hm weird on my van a cable goes down from the handle to the sliding door arm and unlocks the hold function of the door
@@maxeffenberger280 huh… I don’t feel like taking the door panel off at the moment, but I’ll get around to checking and seeing if I have that cable soon. Thank you for letting me know!
👍when I'm on my astro tomorrow I can send you a picture of it
Mike Z sent me
Get them seats and the base.. You will regret it if you plan on keeping the van... As they are highly sought after item in good condition...
I did end up going back for them. The recliner level is broken, but I am confident I can fix it. My current seats are in amazing condition, better than these ones. Hoping I can swap the hardware over. I have yet to look too far into it, though.
How is no rear ac a good thing!?!?!
More room in the rear of the van as a camper setup. If you don’t have seats or passengers in the back, you really only need front AC.
In my Tahoe it has rear AC and heat. I never use the rear as or heat.
@@ImChrisDeDecker I guess that makes sense execpt for running only front will be less powerful & direct but I can definitely see how it could be done without
Try JB WELD to reinforce the grab handle fasteners.😁
Mike Z actually mentioned JB weld aswell. Ill probably work on that after I build out some of the interior. Thank you for the suggestion 🙏
what editing program do you use love the videos
Premiere pro, and I appreciate that!
