This is a tutorial of how to create a liquid logo animation using the app Procreate on the iPad. I show my complete process and breakdown a few helpful cel animation techniques. 0:45 for those just starting and following along, you can access the frames bar at the bottom by going to the gear symbol > canvas > animation assist
For me it doesnt change the white box from the apple logo into black it is white even if i make the background black

Oh this is so great. my first trial at procreate animation and it's looking so dope.
Tip though: instead of making the logo layer 90% opaque for visibility, you can just make the background colour something else apart from black or white(greys/purple/green,etc) . That way, you get to see both guide and the logo and it's easy to correct later as opposed to switching all the opacities back.

I animated the Apple logo in reverse using the eraser tool, then applied the drips too in reverse. No clipping mask, no grouped layers. Thanks for the inspiration. Liked and subbed…👍🏻

Thank you! Ya know, I’m not 100% sure because I don’t use procreate on iPhone but I’m pretty sure that procreate pocket does not have animation capabilities.

Tipp: You don’t need to connect the line to fill only inside the apple logo; tap the logo layer and select the Layer as „reference“ then continue to fill with color. Great Tutorial !

How did you do this with only 250 layers, I can‘t finish because I can‘t duplicate anymore
Sorry if I’m late but here is how you fix it:
If it says it has reached the max amount of layers then you go to the settings and select the amount of layers you need and you can duplicate it!

Whenever I insert a photo there's a white box around and I dont know how to fix it. And when I insert a png it does the same. What do I do
Try a different PNG. Png is just the file format that supports transparent backgrounds. But not ALL png images will have a transparent background if they weren’t exported properly.
If you click on an image in Google images and a checkered background appears you should be good.
I just search up an image with no background and copy and paste it.
Such as “Apple Logo with no background “

If you weren’t filming this for a tutorial, how long would it take you to do this animation?
Good question! This one probably would take me an hour. I could do it faster but only because I’ve done the same one a couple times now. If I’m doing something brand new it at least takes an hour or two to think through. I’d say 5+ hours if it’s a lot more complicated.

When i play the animation the logo gets darker. How do i fix that?
Not exactly sure. Probably the onions skins are making it look lighter to begin with. Make sure you don’t judge color with onions skins turned on.

When i try to upload a photo with a transparent background in procreate, the "transparent background" still is shown.
Any help?
Click on the link of the png you want to download. On the page should be a download button. Click that and it should be fine. (I cant remember If it saves in photos or in datas but just add it then)
