I met a guy in 2003 who was a logistics supervisor at a high end hotel, he told me that most employees scramble to put in PTO requests every time Jennifer Lopez was going to stay at that hotel.

I was honestly surprised the college bribe thing became such a big scandal because I was just like 'yeah, duh' when it came out that rich celebrities paid for their kids to get into good schools. like do people honestly think all rich kids are THAT smart that they all can go to prestigious schools? that their entire families for generations were all smart enough to go to the ivy leagues? I thought it was pretty common knowledge that most rich people buy their way to the top
Right? They're all behaving like this kind of behaviour is unheard of when it's even a plot point in so many movies and shows...
It's not that way, it's that they've gone to schools leading up to those good schools that make them competent.
Well it was the way it was done. I have worked with a lot of rich families before and seen how they operate. Most of the time its public donations and being friends with the dean or professors and sort of asking for a favor but its not a 100 percent guarantee. Its still like 95 percent for sure but not a 100. For this was an instance of direct payments to specific people to guarantee spots rather then pulling strings to get them favors. Both wrong only one is actually illegal.
To be fair, there are some rich kids who really do study, and are gifted. But sadly many are not.
Yet no one talks about how Trump bought his high school diploma and college degrees .
Felicity Huffman saying that bribing someone was the only way to give her daughter a future is the most ridiculous thing I've heard this year. Lady, you're probably worth $25-$50 million. She already has a future if she is in your will.
It also is humiliating for her daughter. Huffman is basically saying, that her daughter is useless without her money. She can't get into college without a bribe.

I meant that by saying bribing someone was the only way to give her daughter a future implied that Huffman thinks her daughter is too dumb to get into a college on her own. It sounded like she undermined her daughter's abilities. Also, it is great what you are doing for your future. Wish you luck and great success!
Her daughter didn’t even want to put in any effort. They took a spot for a sports athlete that actually did the work to earn it. That’s why many were outraged.

You can get an excellent education at any accredited college or university, but saying you went to Harvard or Yale is hella more impressive than saying your local community college..people that attended an Ivy League school wear it like a badge for decades after graduation.. No one cares I received a Master's from Brooklyn College..
@@jerbsherb4391my son is going to one of the top engineering colleges in the US(not MIT)for all the opportunities they give that my engineer husband didn’t have in the cheap college he went to. There is a program in our state that covers all tuition as long as you keep your GPA up. For very determined young adults it is really worth it but not for actress’s kids that are only going to have fun I go with nope. Due to the name of his college he was able to get a not just a ton of interviews but also a fancy internship for the summer of his freshman year that his friends it less prestigious colleges didn’t get

The kids probably could have gotten into lower ranked colleges. But they wanted them to go to top schools that they weren't qualified for. And Lori's kid didn't even want to go to university. She bragged about not going to class on social media and how she was only into the party scene. They just took spots from qualified students. And Huffman actually paid to change her kid's SAT scores. That's an insult to everyone who busts their ass to get good scores.

I think she had a knack for captivating people with flashiness and glamour, which brought her career success. But now that all of that is fading, I think audiences are seeing what was always there but they were distracted from seeing before: her flaws.
That all said, I think she's achieved a lot with what talents she has, and she's done more than some who are even more talented than her.

There are many pop stars who would be best considered "entertainers" rather than "vocalists" or "singers". JLo is one of them. A true singer is someone like Barbra Streisand, Whitney Houston or Céline Dion. Entertainers are those like Madonna or Janet Jackson, who heavily rely on dancing and visuals (rather than just vocal ability) to help augment their presentation.
Katherine Hiegel has had multiple folks say she is actually nice in person. And her calling out sexism is A GOOD THING

I can confirm two celebrity stories. The first one was with James Corden at one of his very last tapings of his show. He couldn’t have been nicer to the audience and came all the way to the back where my friend and I had our seats and he offered to have a picture taken with my friend and was so gracious and nice. The second story come straight from my friend who for many years worked in the entertainment industry. He and a coworker were working an award show and J Lo walked by the friend said good morning to her. She whispered something to an assistant, and the next thing the guy knew he was fired when he asked why he was told because, he said something to that wretched woman. The sense of entitlement is beyond belief and it well known she treats staff like crap.

The most despicable celebrity on this video is Jennifer Lopez. She is such an elitist that she has to relay messages through her assistant to lay people trying to wait on her and help her. A flight attendant told the story of her asking Jennifer Lopez if she wanted something from the bar, so she turned to her assistant and told the assistant to tell the flight attendant what she wanted. People like that need a good humbling.

And Huffman's bribe was something like 15k to change her kid's SAT score. Loughlin bribed for direct admission and saying her daughters were athletes. She admitted to paying $500,000.

I don't know how Felicity Huffman and Lori Lachlan ever thought their kids could even do college-level work if they had to pay to get them in.
As I recall, they both wanted their kids to get accepted as student athletes (even though the kids were never involved in those sports). They probably figured that athletes can just sail through, taking "mick" courses and don't have to worry about academics. I don't think any of their kids were interested in studying - I seem to remember that they wanted to be stylists or influencers or something else that didn't require any scholastic achievement. I'm glad all the parents that participated in this scam (most weren't celebs, just rich) got caught. It's very competitive to get accepted into decent schools, and all the spots available should go to kids who worked hard to earn them.

JLo is pretty awful to be around. A friend of mine had the displeasure of waiting on her recently at a privet party. Let’s just say she is waaaay worse than she previously was.
No matter how big you become, never treat those "lower" than you with anything other than utmost respect. People may not discover that side of you immediately, but they will, and they won't look fondly on you once it's revealed.
Plus, you never know what the future will be. That "lower" one may end up in a better position than you are...

She said that if they come up on you and hit you like a man they better be ready to receive what comes after. She said we teach our children to avoid certain things for their protection and that is one thing females also need to learn as adults. I feel so sorry for Felicity Huffman. I'm a big fan of 'Desperate housewives' and always felt she was the greatest actress within the cast. That explains how, in the following years, she was able to secure certain roles as in 'Transamerica' and 'American crime', while the rest of the ladies fell somehow in the background. I was so shocked when I heard about her involvement in the whole scandal... Fortunately, she seems to have learned a lot from it and seems honestly sorrowful. I wish her luck. I wouldn't like for her to stop appearing in films because of that. She never came across as a diva or mean, as, for instance, J. Lo does.
I can't speak for non-melanated people, but Black people still love Will Smith and will happily take him over Chris Rock any day.
I was wondering why I wasn’t seeing John Rhys-Davies in any films - I thought he was an excellent, mesmerizing actor. Maybe, he just needed some time to figure things out…. I would still love to see him in a film again.

Totally agree!!! She wasn't blindly badmouthing anyone; she had every right to speak up. But Hollywood wanted to silence her. Also she wasn't "uneasy" to work with; she was just raising a valid point about the changes in her character and the show's story line!
