Cal, love watching your videos. I have a challenge for you. I bought a few Savage Gear Pencils in 90, 125 & 150 sizes for this years season. Would be great to see you using them as i have high expectations with these lures, but dont see many anglers using them.
Hello mate, I’ve tried and tested them lures. Both the 13g and 19g. Absolute deadly in any setting. Really good action and can be worked in both shallow and deep waters. Actually caught my PB on the 13g Sandeel pattern
Hello CAL, thanks for your videos. Can you plz make a video explain Fishing Strategy; eg. Someone walks into a beach and having only soft plastics. The questions are: 1. How far need to cast the lure? 2. How deep to let it sink? 3. How to retrieve it, fast or slow, with jerks or without? 4. When do you decide to change color? after you try all above combinations? 5. When do you consider this is spot and you decide to make a move? after 10 casts, after 1 hour, etc 6. On a beach is best to stay on same spot or walk it up and down? etc...
Bonjour Cal. Bravo encore.
Hello mate. Thanks a lot for watching the videos. The reason for not using the Samson rod recently is only because the weather has been fairly settled whenever I’ve had a chance to go out so I’ve not really needed the extra length or strength of that rod. The Samson shads I use regularly, I just haven’t managed to catch any fish with them recently. They’ll be a lot more videos to come when I’ll be using the Samson gear. It’s a great bit of kit!
Nice work mate, wonder what they were feeding on? Savage lures are such a good lure. Was hoping you’d bag a keeper for some more catch and cook action! 😋
Your guess is as good as mine mate. I couldn’t see any baitfish activity in the water so I’m not too sure what they’d have been feeding on. A SG Sandeel will rarely fail to catch ‘em if they’re there though. Cheers.
Great session Cal. Very enjoyable viewing.

Those stunning blue fins on winter bass are beautiful!
Yeah the colours on the bass this time of year are beautiful! Cheers mate.
So pleased to see you start catching the Bass Cal. Makes it worthwhile doesn’t it. Keep up the good luck with them.
Thanks Yvonne. I was glad to have found a few.
Liked and shared.
Thanks David 👍🏼
Well done Cal you found the bass with a different lure and they liked it. Take care & tight lines 😊
Thanks 👍
That reef was alive with pollock back in the 80’s and 90’s
Another great video Cal
Everywhere was alive with pollock back then. Sadly it’s a different story these days! Thanks mate 👍🏼

Nice one mate
Nice vid … what reel is that x
It’s a Shimano Twin Power 5000XG 👍🏼
Hi Cal i dont often see you using pliers to disgorge fish, is there a reason or have you just a good technique for unhooking your fish?
There’s no special technique no. 95% of the time I’ll use pliers if I’m using trebles but with singles it’s relatively easy to unhook them
@@FISHINGWITHCAL thanks Cal yes i’m looking at which pliers to get, the nice titanium ones are not cheap!
