I just received my Margaux 10 with the silver buckle. What a beautiful bag! I think that a zipper would take away from the aesthetic. The black is most most wonderful charcoal grey black that I have ever seen. I am hoping that I can find a bag insert to help protect the lovely light fabric interior.

Bags that have gaps in the opening or can’t be closed all the way are just not my preference. It’s so easy for someone to pick pocket and also if the bag tips over or gets knocked off a table all the things would spill out for everyone to see.
I always say that about the Margaux... if only it had a zipper. But then I realize I never actually use the zipper on my bags anyway. I even paid extra to get a tote with a zipper from a local leather goods maker, and I've not used the zipper more than a handful of times.

Have you treated the suede bag to protect the suede? Suede always worries me x
I use collonil lotion(that in a pump bottle,NOT the others from them)
Used it on my suede margaux and everything else. Except birkins fhs. They will sweat it out again. Oh well live and learn😅
