It’s an old video, but one of the best I’ve found. Very good detail mate, for someone just starting out and learning, you’ve dine a brilliant job. Well done, I’ve written down lots of you’re little tips, which will be sure to help
EXCELLENT VIDEO FOR ALL. I’m pretty good on the tools but have just bought my first hilux and this instructional video was bang on. Well done sir and thank you.
Thanks heaps for the video! Well presented and loads of great tips and advice. Loving my recently acquired 2009 SR5 and plan to service it in the next week. A tip for other viewers: If you get an aftermarket filter from Repco/Supercheap, they generally don't come with a washer. You will need to buy a small pack for around $5.
Hey mate, thanks for this video, I found it really comprehensive but without too much waffle. Keen to see more servicing videos on the Hilux in the future like other service items and checks you would do before doing a big 4x4 trip.
Thanks for sharing this great video. I’m not a mechanic, but I found your video really easy to follow step by step on how to do basic service on my hilux. God bless🙏🏽
subbed! im not confident at servicing my car yet but i feel like i will the more times i play your video and watch others! Thanks for not cutting corners and giving as much as possible.
Absolutely love this video guys! Thanks so much for explaining things so well without being like so many others. Really helpful and keep up the good work!
Mate, thanks so much for creating this video. I'm about to start doing my own services to save a bit of coin. This has given me the confidence and a lot of tips of what to look out for. Cheers!
I recently got a Hilux and came on youtube looking for service videos. This video is really well done and makes the basic servicing job a lot less 'frightening' since it's a much bigger vehicle and can be intimidating. Bless up all the way from Barbados
Brilliant 👏, has given me the confidence to try myself, appreciate you spending the time to go slow through with commentary the whole way, thanks so much
Good tips, I'm looking to buy used Hilux soon. I saw them in Kuwait and they lasted forever. I am retired now in Spain and want to procure one soon, yes they are a bit pricey even 2nd hand. Thanks your video was helpful.
Great video! Lots of minor details which are important. I've got a same model Hilux and I have being doing the service myself as couple years. I am sure it'll be much effective service next time. Thanks.
I have a 2009 hilux and even though I have a good mechanic for my services it was great to see how to change filters etc properly in case I’m out bush somewhere. Very easy to follow your video. Just subscribed. Cheers!
Very easy to follow, thanks. Wanted to change fuel filter but unshure how, should be easy now. My diff never been done in 100.000 Km maybe I better do it. Can you tell me , does the 3.0 ltr late models have a DPF filter. I did not think so, but advert I looked at for a 2016 truck said it had one. I would buy new but DPF filters are a nightmare where I live (50 kph speed limit) or less. Thanks.
Really good video and instructions. Two questions 1. Was that a light mounted on the underside of the bonnet and what was the line going into the engine just over the autometer sign? Thanks
Thanks a Lot, learned what is needed for my changing oil/Fuel Filter on Toyota Hilux D4D 3.0 here in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. How many K's before you change the rear end axle oil?
@@driftcarsjp thanks 😊…. I Jxt did my service on mine today, en I just came by the channel just to confirm if I had used the proper amount of oil cz I had just bought a whole service kit ….but keep up the good work sir 🔥🔥
Thanks for this, very useful video with some good info! I noticed that on your front suspension ball joints that you do not seem to have grease nipples, my Toyota has grease nipples on the top and bottom ball joints, do you think these are after market replacements? The other thing I was curious about is wheel bearings, a friend of mine owns an Isuzu D Max and his truck requires a wheel bearing greasing every 40,000 KM, (part of Isuzu service) I cannot find anything similar in the Toyota service specs. Do you repack the wheeel bearings with fresh grease? I assumed they were good for the life of the vehicle, sealed units, not the old fashioned tapered hubs.
I know landcruisers are every 40000k ill check on the hilux and get back to you. Always conditions determine re greasing . Those are factory toyota ball joints some have nipples and some don't. Thanks for the support.
You sir... are a champion amongst champions. Thanks for taking the time. I have a 2012 SR5 and am now confident enough to do a service.
Me too brother, love my 2012 lux 😁😁👍🏾
Very well understood the procedure thank you sir.

Really good video and instructions. Two questions 1. Was that a light mounted on the underside of the bonnet and what was the line going into the engine just over the autometer sign? Thanks
Yeah had a led light on there and the line is for a boost gauge.
Awesome video! :) thanks mate
awesome bro
Terrific video...thankyou!
Great video mate thank you !
Why do Australians use upward inflections?
Shouldn't we put a little bit of oil in our oil filters before twisting them on??
You can if you want . It doesn't really matter as they have oul pressure very quickly
Great video just did my oil change with no problems. Thank you. How often do you change the diff oil?
Every 40000ks or less depending on off road use.
@@driftcarsjp thanks
If you have your fuel light stay on, and you change the fuel filter, will the fuel light go off after the filter has been changed?
Some of the fuel sensors are faulty and require replacement. Light should go off after draining the filter.
good job
Great video mate thanks heaps 👌🏼
Thank you
Brilliant.
Thanks
What oil need to use for transfer case? Can use auto transmission oil for that or not? Or we use same oil with diff?
You need a 75w90 gear oil for the transfer case
What about front and rear diff is the same oil or front diff and transfer case same oil? Thank you
@wisamoi7165 yep you can use it in the diffs too
Thanks a Lot, learned what is needed for my changing oil/Fuel Filter on Toyota Hilux D4D 3.0 here in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. How many K's before you change the rear end axle oil?
Read axle should be done every 20000ks if hard use off road and towing, and 30000ks if light on road use.
@@driftcarsjp Thank you again. Just ordered all Oil and Parts for my project. ;-)
Great instructional video mate ...should I be using sae 5w-30 in the Uk 🇬🇧?
Just check with Toyota for the recommended oil for cooler temps.
What about the pollen filter ( Cabin filter) ?
This was only a minor service, you can change the cabin filter every 40000ks.
perfect 👍
Great vid mate 👍
Very informative!!
Thanks mate appreciate it
How many litters oil do you need......cz some say 9 some 10 then when I go on some forums it says 6.9 on the 3.0 1kd FTV
It's about 7 litres
@@driftcarsjp thanks 😊…. I Jxt did my service on mine today, en I just came by the channel just to confirm if I had used the proper amount of oil cz I had just bought a whole service kit ….but keep up the good work sir 🔥🔥
