Maybe this could be a new series for you. Classics or oldies but goodies😂🤣 love it.
I would love that!!
Great idea!
I'd love to make vintage projects too!
Great idea! I have crocheted for years and some of those old patterns are great
My granny always said nostalgia isn't what it used to be. 😂
Love this pattern. Thanks for sharing
Hey Crystal, I think I watched this before, but it’s still neat!! Don’t have to make two different sides!! N I love the big loop. The two tone…
Add a matching towel or two, a wash cloth n you gave a nice gift set. Even do one if your quick scrubbies!! I give these sets as gifts all the time to both women and to men!! They love them too!! My son asks for new sets all the time!! Plus I do holiday sets fir ppl. With matching towels. I find nice towels at the dollar stores or Walmart has nice ones for 88 cents. When they r washed, they fluff up real nice.
Just some ideas for all if you. Plus you can sell gift sets at your craft shows!! Big hits!!! Very little cost!! I sometimes add all crochet towel holders too. Very easy to make. Those pretty much complete the sets. They don’t even require buttons on most designs.
Then I usually only buy a gift card fir a place I know the person enjoys shopping, add all to a gift bag I decorate real nice with dollar store ornaments or stuff, ribbons, etc n I’m done shopping!!!! But some ppl get bigger projects also, in addition to the potholder/towel sets. Depends how much time I have.
Mostly shield or hats n scarves sets. Maybe a lap blanket.
Always inspired by Crystal’s tutorials!!
I’ve cricked since I was about 12, watched my Mom do basic stitches, then self taught myself harder Ives thru the yrs. I’m 67 now! N still learning new things!!
Oh my god I'm so happy I found this tutorial!! One of my relatives/family friend made my mom this style pot holders many years ago, and obviously they have been used and loved so much to where they're dirty and falling apart, and I'm planning on making these to surprise my mom!!
My aunt made these.
I love this pattern. I cannot remember it. I am forever grateful.
The yellow potholder reminds looks like a poncho for dolls! LOL!
I love this potholder. I’ve done a similar one with single crochet but this is a much faster pattern to finish and nicer to put together 28:26 I think. Thank You for sharing it
I really like these. I see me making these for gifts.
🎉i like them both. But the yellow & brown i love
Very nice I was looking for a different pattern for pot holders thank you God bless
Awesome potholders
What a wonderful idea thank you . Take care of yourself.
I love your tutorials. All of them . THANK YOU SOOO MUCH .
I followed your pattern and made these a year ago and came back today to make some more! I gave some as gifts but kept a set for myself and want everyone to know that they work safely even without lining them inside. Thanks Crystal, another "go to pattern " for sure ❤😊.
TY, TY, TY many times over! This too reminds me of my grandmothers potholders. I’m so very thankful for you. And your channel. Your channel was the first I found when just beginning UA-cam at the age of 60. You have inspired my creativity beyond measure. ❤️😎🌹😍
I like it with the brown also. thank you.
I remember my grandma using like these when I young. Thank you for bringing back the memories ❤️
Wow what timing. Creative Grandma just showed some crochet item finds and one was a potholder just like this!!
I just had a very enjoyable time, watching your tutorial, Crystal, and catching your enthusiasm. I love the vintage look, too. I have some 24/7 cotton, Hobbi Lobby’s cotton, Premier Home Cotton, Peaches and Cream and Sugar and Cream cottons, so I guess I have my choice! 😂. I will watch again with pen and paper in hand. I think I’ll make two, using the same same two colors in opposite areas. For Christmas, I can picture green w/white and red w/white. Your golden yellow and brown one looks like sunflower colors to me. 🌻 Thank you so very much!
My mom use to make these, thanks Crystal ❤️
Oh great idea I love 💕😘 new kitchen stuff for Christmas 🎄
Just found this pattern. Love the old fashion pot holder. Thanks❤
I haven't seen these in years. I'm so excited to make some! Thank you for sharing ☺️
And who doesn't need potholders? Yay! Thanks, Crystal! 💕💕💕
O-M-Gosh!!! I thought that was a purse Crystal. I'm going to make two of those and sew them together but use wooden handles. Yes!!!
NICE GOING CRYSTAL!!!
I watched this while I was at work. I thought I heard someone coming into my shop. Then I wondered what little dog was barking before I realized it was George. I love the pot holder and now that I won’t be confused, I’ll be able to make it. LOL
Oh I love vintage!!!
I love that you know all the old patterns
I really love this potholder! I love the older classic designs too, thanks much Love and blessings
Love these they are so adorable
Thank you for the potholder tutorial! Love this !!!! We want more tutorials of simple things .
I make double thick pot-holders, all the time. They are one of my best sellers. They do not burn your hands, up to 450°. However, I do use the 2sc in each st, across. I will make one of these and try them without padding, inside and let you know, if they burn your hands or not. I always use, 100% cotton, WW yarn or a #4. I actually add cotton batting, when I make them for trivets or hot-pads (for hot pots, only). I do not like batting for pot-holders…my opinion, only.
Hi Susie, why don't you like cotton batting for pot-holders? Does it make it too thick or too stiff to grip the pot securely?
@@Me_Ewe_and_Yarn_Cheryl yes, in my opinion, that’s why I like to use them for hot pots, only. I have very small hands. When I use a pot holder, I want it to grip tightly around the handle of the pan or on the pan, itself. Like a baking sheet. I have yet to be burnt from my double thick potholders.
@@susiesdarnyarn4155 I have small hands to and often find commercially made potholders to be too thick for me to feel like I've got a secure grip. I've made a thermal stitch one and it's also a bit too stiff for my liking. I'm going to try your 2sc in each stitch. Thanks so much for sharing and replying. Have a great day!
@@Me_Ewe_and_Yarn_Cheryl awesome sauce. I have made my potholders this way for years and years. I make two complete washcloths, with trim. Then sew them tog and add a hanging loop, too. That way, no burning your hands. I use 26 across. Skipping every other stitch. And I do 26 rows…of the 2sc in every other st. They are awesome…wish I could show you a pic…
I just wanted to tell you ilove this pattern and the way you show how to make it, I can't wait to try this
I have made lots of crochet pot holders and they insulate very well - I will say I use a size smaller hook to make my fabric tight to prevent heat transfer
This is exactly the potholder pattern I've been looking for! As always crystal, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are amazing.
I’m going to make some of these. I’ve made the round and square fold on to its self making it double thickness. Very good instructions and slow enough for me to follow along without having to stop the video and do the rows.
These are real nice, might just have to make me some. Thank you for the tutorial
Thank you! So many people have tried to explain this pattern to a friend and it only confused them.
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PATTERN... I am currently working on my kitchen and making my apartment feel like home. So I have been looking for crochet pieces to bring a vintage and decorative touch. Between runners, placements and now these potholders, I give God all the glory and extend much thanks for sharing your childhood memories with us all. I feel like my favorite crocheters and the community are with me. Love you all, keep creating, and can't wait to make these also for gifts.
Love this pattern.
Love this pattern , Crystal . Great for Christmas gifts . Love and Hugs .
My grandma used to make potholders with acrylic and they always had hard burned spots 😂. Use cotton 👍
OMGosh, Crystal, my Nan used to make these! TY, TY, TY for sharing this. I have not been able to find these anywhere! You are the best!
My aunt makes loads of these to gift. She uses three and sometimes even four double yarn to really get the thickness up and make them stiffer.
Thank you for the tutorial 🌹🌹
I made a pair, but I used a wooden ring and crochet around that to hang the potholders. 😊
CRYSTAL! THESES ARE THE BEST OF STYLE VIDEOS! 💧 RAINING HERE! RAINDROP ON THE SPOT QUICK VIDEOS! 💘 THIS ALWAYS BLESSINGS AND LOVE TO THE WHOLE CROCHET FAMILY 💘 HAZEL HAVE FUN! CROCHET AWAY!🤭

I love this pattern!
I love vintage! 💜 Please do more if possible.
I remember seeing this plus a dress potholder too. I'm not sure who got them when she died. They weren't used just hung up. I'll have to ask my aunt since we were the only crocheters in the immediate family. I hope that you will do more vintage patterns. Thanks so much🤗😇

Those would look so cute hanging above the kitchen sink or above the stove! Love it!
Hi Krystal! This is exactly what I needed. My friend asked me to make her pot holders 2 years ago. I'm making these! 😀
These remind me of a great-aunt kitchen. She had these on the wall as decorations that were useful!!! I loved going to her home. She always had great foods and fun items in her kitchen. Thank you.
Very cute! As usual you explain things very well 😊I really love your channel

It could be a doll poncho. 😁 I have never seen this type of potholder. My grant Cook had the ones made by weaving the loops together.
BLESSINGS AND LOVE TO THE WHOLE CROCHET FAMILY 💘 HAZEL HAVE FUN! THANK YOU CRYSTAL! CROCHET AWAY FUN RAINY DAY!🤭🙂🎃
I went down to the local pharmacy. I showed them this pot holder and they ordered 5 sets.
I'm so happy. I'm selling them for 20 dollars a set.
Hi Crystal. I remember these! I will have to make a whole bunch for all of my kids for Christmas and some for me too. Thank you for bringing back a happy memory
I was just browsing through the thousands of photos on the BOD Facebook page and thinking how all these pictures must make you feel so great knowing how happy you have made people in helping to create something so beautiful 😍. Your the best.❤
I love these!
Love em!
It was fun for me too. These will make great gifts. Thank you Crystal 🧶💚
So cute, I rememer those from my Grandma. Brought back so good memories
Cool
Adorable😘
Hi Crystal! I'm making thses today!
Love this!
I will definitely be making these. Could you please do a tutorial for a tea towel topper for us beginners?
These pot holders are beautiful. Cant wait to start.
Love it, have alot of cotton yarn to get rid of. Trying to down size my yarn. Thank you
Like the pattern! I changed the dc to an interlocking dc since you reccommended putting a cloth inside. Closed the gaps up well n i dont have to worry about poss burns. I also discovered by happy experiment changing the sc, + ch 1 to interlock dc i could put a mini shell simply by inserting 3 times in the cross shell n then followed thru with dc. Turned out pretty to my notion. Thankyou so much for inspiration❣
It looks like a doll poncho after 2 or 3 rows 😀
So cute!!! Thanks for sharing!!! Have a great evening!!!
My Avó made so many of those back in the day. Thank you for the memory 🥰
Thank you im doing all crochet gifts for kitchen for my girls and my sister inlaw I want to do this and hot pads and towel holders I have thermal felt to put in between them hot pads as well
Crystal love this pattern, I used two strands of cotton yarn and nine rows, it’s very thick. Thank you for sharing.
this is so cute. i am going to make one for my cabbage patch doll as a poncho. I made a dress from one of your video's for the doll, so now I will use this pattern to make the poncho. My husband gave me this doll 40 years ago and I love it.
Nice potholder friend ! Thanks for sharing ❤️
These are quick and fun - I love this potholder, I've made several already. 💜
