Today we're flying on JSX from Dallas, Texas (DAL) to Houston, Texas (HOU)! JSX advertises their flights as a "hassle-free, hop-on, semi-private jet experience, with no crowds, private terminals, 30-seat jets with business class legroom, free snacks and drinks, two free checked bags, and contact-less check-in." Those are some high marks to hit for basically the same price as a Southwest flight from DAL-HOU. As I just mentioned, JSX competes directly with Southwest on this route, so they have to set themselves apart. Well, did JSX live up to the hype? Did they delivery on their bold claims? I say yes, but I'll let you decide for yourself. In today's upload, which is still a full flight, I go into extra detail to make sure i cover the whole experience from start to finish. After all, that is what JSX is using to set themselves apart. I had a GREAT experience on JSX, and I'm already looking forward to flying them again. What do you think though? Are you impressed with JSX? Would you choose them over another major airline? Do you think this flight showcased here fulfills their lofty promises?
@@sla31 I am actually in a full house now! We got meeted by a kind stranger who got us a house to rent! So everything is good, also gave us food and clothes and he said we could stay however long we need!, he also gave us money for whatever we need so now we have enough money to get a flight to Austin texas!, and I will record my experience and share it with you! I will be traveling at the end of August, can't wait to tell me your reaction! I'm flying on southwest!
I did JSX from DAL to AUS last week for the first time and I actually liked it! Even though the Embraer 145 is tiny, it’s a very fun Jet. It’s like a little flying sports car!
Felicia certainly has a SWA-type enthusiasm--guessing you took a morning flight, during cruise, thought I could see the orange sun glare from an open shade on the opposite side, good thing you chose not to sit there! I could almost smell the interior, probably has that new car with leather seats fragrance! Impressive take off roll, clearly a light load. Its rare to see an E-145 landing video with reverse thrust, liked it! I assume you overnighted in Dallas to catch the flight? How did you get home? Maybe throw some cash at the pilot to fly you HOU-JLN! Wouldn't that be a treat! Does JSX offer a shuttle to get you to the other side of HOU so as to fly home? Certainly no TSA to worry about but once on the other side.....ugh! Mingling with the hoi polloi yet once again......sigh! What are JSX's destinations? Great sound of the engines winding down, odd place to park the plane, guessing the ground crew will tug it around to a different spot for later on
Yes, this was indeed a morning flight. 8:00am departure. And yes, I had to overnight in Dallas to catch it. I flew Southwest down from TUL, and then flew Southwest home again from HOU. Had to uber from the private terminal to the main terminal. In the Dallas and Houston area they serve those two and then Las Vegas and Destin. They also have a larger presence around California and Las Vegas. That's where they originally started.
Definitely with the 30 seat 1-1 layout haha. Don't get me wrong. I love Southwest's 737 Max's. I think they're the most comfortable Max in the US, but you can't take that over a semi-private jet. Thanks for watching!
5:16 "It's going to be our pleasure to take you to Dallas." What? From DAL to DAL? I think Felicia made a mistake. LOL Also, Sam Chui did a video on this airline recently, explaining why the second seat had been removed - at the time to help with 6 foot distancing due to covid. Thanks for the video.
A very other worldly, but beautiful cloudscape on approach to Hobby, although I was a little surprised at the apparent lack of turbulence lol! Well done my friend and kind regards from the UK :-)
Yes we're good thanks, have just purchased a 36ft cruiser style boat for the inland waterways of Norfolk Broads here in the UK. The boat was made in 2001 and is a Dutch made steel Boarncruiser New Line 365, which we collected last Monday. Have been onboard all week giving her a good exterior clean, inside is immaculate. We are at home now for a couple of days to sort a few things, but going back onboard on Sunday, probably for the rest of August at least! We'll still have WiFi, so will be able to keep up to date with your YT channel. Take care for now and regards Paul :-)
There were like 10 people on the plane. It definitely helped the "semi-private jet" feel, but I'd imagine they need higher loads than that to make a profit.
The company is taking off like crazy…. Almost every flight is full. Adding to the fleet and more routes. Just need to hire more people, everything is done in house by JSX personnel to make sure you get a great experience.
@@DiamondbackAviation They are still growing! I submitted an application to be a first officer out of DAL with them and should hear something by March.
Driving is about 3 to 4 hours from Dallas to Houston on a good day. The shortest flight I know of in Texas is from Dallas to waco. Approximately 35-45 mins and driving is around 1 hour and 30 mins but yes it’s huge state!!
I liked the whole video in flight, didn't see much turbulence and that was good! The take off and landing was awesome and the flight attendant did seem a bit overly happy but she did a good job. I didn't like the rubbing sound or grinding sound when they turned to the gate to exit the plane and I noticed their wasn't anymore planes like it. " Long story short I would fly this airlines and I don't like Small aircrafts".😊
I try to keep my content as diverse as possible. It'd get a bit boring if I was always flying the same airlines to the same places. Some of it is unavoidable. I mean, I have to fly out of my home airports and fly back to them on every trip, but I try to space those flights out enough that you're not constantly seeing the same thing over and over. Thanks for watching!
Great fly! Have you seen a story where 13 year-old boy was duct-taped on American Airlines flight from Maui to Los Angeles? That was because the boy was kicking the windows and became physical with his mother. The boy was taken in custody in Honolulu after this happens.
I did see that. Haven't heard anything more about it, but there were early reports that the boy suffered from autism. That doesn't excuse the behavior, but it certainly can explain some of it.
I mean, when I bought this ticket it was $99. That seems to be what you can get a ticket for on any day in advance. On that same day, Southwest was charging $79 for a one way ticket between DAL-HOU. So, is it worth $20? I'd say yes.
I paid $99 for the one-way ticket. On the day that I booked this ticket, Southwest was charging $79 for their lowest one-way flight from Dallas Love to Houston Hobby. And, after watching this flight on flightaware for quite a while. It seems to be very reliable service. I only saw one canceled flight, and it was a day that Houston had really bad thunderstorms. Obviously, on a good day, you’d be able to get a Southwest ticket for around $50. But, even at double the price. It’s still not a bad value for what you get.
If JSX had a larger route network, I think A LOT more people would ditch the majors to fly JSX instead. Sadly, they really only serve a few markets in the US.

Wonderful video. That Southwest 737 MAX in the intro was looking good but the Embraer was lookin better :)

Thanks my friend! I wish they had a larger network around here. Either way, I’ll definitely be trying to fit them in to my travels more often now.
Never seen a Beautiful wonderful video
Also, great quality sound of the engine too.
Man I love those regional Jets!!!
Nice flight
Those jets look so dope, unique & futuristic dog. yessir! 💯👌

Wow. I love how it is completely comfortable. Just love it.
It was very comfortable, and to show up 15 minutes before your flight, no TSA screening, and walk right out to the plane, was pretty awesome.
A very nice flight. Rather unusual being semi-privately owned.
it would be cool to get some new privates trip reports
That would be cool. When I start making enough money to legitimately fly private flight, I’ll be sure to do that haha.

Never seen paint on the actual wing before

Why do i keep missing out on new airlines?

I have to admit that I hate the 145s but this makes me look at it differently
It's hard not to like 1-1 all business class seating, isn't it?
In my opinion the 145s are much better than the CRJ 200 but 1-1 though that would be worth trying
Uhhhh whaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt 😱
I think I’d pass. They can’t taxi out to the runway if the fares are comparable to LUV.
