I went back there once on a Keys to the Kingdom tour. Amazing how it just looks like any other warehouse area. Disney really goes the extra mile on immersiveness inside the parks.
This reminds of marching in the Disney World Parade with my high school marching band in the 90s. We started near splash mountain and ended up going through this same walk back to the dressing area. The dressing area was right by where the floats are worked on.
Pretty much unchanged from when I worked there almost 20 years ago. I used to enjoy sitting at that console across from Old Bill and watching the boats go by. Funny that they added a TINY roof above the door to onstage for reasons??

Heh, I think I was there when this happened. January 15th of this year. Just boarded the 2nd boat, didn't even get to leave the station. We spent 20 minutes waiting for them to tell us to get off. :") Probably bc they evacuate exit-to-load, right?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised, it's Disney, but having those people at the end giving them lightning lane passes is a very easy way to compensate anyone for this sort of inconvenience. Very cool to see, thanks for the video!
I had this happen a few years back on the same ride. Some lady on one of the boats way up in front of us decided to blaze up on the ride lighting a joint.
I was in DisneyLAND on the same day - lifelong Disney parksgoer and it was the worst visit I've ever had! Haunted Mansion broke down. Rise of the Resistance broke down at least twice. Big Thunder Mountain went down in the evening and didn't open back up. Most animatronics not working I've ever seen. Lightning Lane added 20-40 minutes to the wait times for us regular guests. And since L.A. is still suffering from the lockdowns all the locals went to Disneyland that night since so much other stuff closed down so it was packed at the end of the night when normally the park empties out. We're going to Universal Orlando next year instead, give Disney a couple years to get their sh!t together.

I got stuck on the descent back to earth on Spaceship Earth once and that was an awkward position too! You have no idea just how steep that incline is until you are stopped there for a length of time, lol.
It's a little crazy that they evacuate all the way around west, south and east side of Pirates, rather than just going up the access Road just north of pirates - shown at 10:24. Probably adds almost a mile of extra walking. I know that parades prep up that access road, but most times, there aren't parades. So they're making guests walk an extra 15 minutes for pretty much no good reason.
Oh I've figured out why they do it with the huge amount of extra walking. There's a level crossing for the Magic Kingdom railway on that access road. Fine if you're well chaperoned, but evacuees may not all be well chaperoned. Of course, I believe train has been out of operation for years ...

I wonder if different guests were brought out through different building exits, and a single guest-recovery team is easier. Also more logical to the guest to bring them close to where they started. And the evac is likely an extended procedure, so you run the risk of running into a parade or character cavalcade. Better to route the guests away from potential traffic.
Makes one wonder the lack of investment in maintenance. It’s seems like breakdowns are a daily occurrence. Think Walt Disney would be appalled at the state of disrepair
