Nice to see that nobody has stolen or vandalised these places.Maybe because nobody knows they are there. The church in Rhuddlan where my mother lived in North Wales had been broken into so many times they locked it up decades ago and put a huge automatic switch on flood light on the roof.
I am pleased I found your channel Richard. As a Cheshire lad, its places like this church we never hear anything about. Another great documentary, saying 'movie' doesn't do it justice. Loved the fine detail on the house leading up to the church. This is another such short walk where I felt I was there. many thanks for doing this.
I like the little churches . Leighton village church near Welshpool is a really nice church it's one of Pugin's the views are really nice as it's on a hill , you can see Powys castle over the valley .
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ironstone Ironstone is a term for sandstones containing a noticeable amount of iron oxides. The Weald area of Sussex used to be a major iron-working area.
Thanks Nigel - what I love is being able to get to the places the viewers suggest, like Wiggonholt. I had never heard of it before - but it is charming!
Lovely Church, Been here A Few times. There are so many little churches in the area of Pulborough, Storrington & Fittleworth. There is a Lovely church in Coates just South of Fittleworth (I Think)
Nice small church nice place to visit I enjoyed watching this Richard

Richard B. Roberts Gosh what a shame.
It's beautiful ❤️
Thank you! 😊
What a beautiful church - it amazes me that these are still places of worship (but quite heartened by this!)
Astonishing isn't it?
ALL MOSQUES NOW ALLOWED TO BUILD AS MANY AS THRY WANT IN UK WE CANNOT BUILD CHURCHES IN THEIR COUNTRY

Thanks Mark - it is lovely!
Very quaint !
My 6x Great grandparents John Merritt & Martha Bunn were married on 17 Oct 1724 at Wiggonholt.

Another gem of a church. Thank you for going to the places most of us never get around too!

Odd that the vicarage looked three or four times the size of the church!!

Wiggonholt was one of several churches in the 1700s that were known for clandestine marriages.
Oh really. Fascinating!
