@@BoldBrandFlakes Infiniti doesn't generate all that much money anymore, so they can't really afford to slash that price. We had an 06 FX45 V8 and the center screen is the exact same in that car as it is in the new Infinitis. Hilarious.

Idk why anyone would buy this honestly. That dashboard does look pretty outdated for anybody who's used to driving even a semi-modern premium or luxury car, and not offering a panoramic sunroof on a sporty-ish car like this could be a deal-breaker for some buyers, not to mention the CVT transmission. At nearly or above $50k even for "mildly" equipped models I'd say this seems like a dud.
Even poorly made American brands are slightly better than the Infiniti of today. As a Japanese brand enthusiast, come on, give us something to be craving for Infiniti!!!
I've owned 3 Infiniti's, G37 IPL, QX50, and a Q50 Red Sport which I did like a lot. I waited for the QX55 and couldn't be more disappointed, wanted a powerful engine, no CVT, and major interior/tech upgrades. So I cross shopped the German's, all fine vehicles, but bought a Genesis GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, everything the QX55 should have been and more. Sorry Infiniti, you're just putting Band-Aids on aging technology and CVT's nobody wants.
@@greg.anywhere the Japanese tend to focus more on luxury and reliability than performance (maybe except Acura, and they're not so good at it). Genesis is clearly going after the Germans for their performance.
Solid review, love it! If Nissan updates the interior and gets rid of the CVT, I'd certainly consider this over most of its competition. They got rid of the CVT in the Pathfinder, why not this one?! They could at the very least offer the transmission as an option between a ZF-9 or the mess they got in this one.😬
I just don’t know why Nissan keeps using CVTs. Usually they do good CVTs, but is it that hard to produce a conventional automatic transmission with gears??
Vowed to myself never to buy a Infiniti again. Had a major problem with the CVT while it was less than 2000 miles out of warranty and they (corporate and dealer) said there is absolutely nothing they can do for me in terms of any discount in fixing it. The model was known for its CVT problems. For a few hundred dollars they lost a customer. Now a happy Audi owner.
On one cares about what problems you had with the transmission. All cars whether it's 5, 6,7 or 10 speed equally have their share of issues. You're clearly still an INFINITI fanboy since you came here to not only view but comment on this clip.
I began reading comments about the old interior before Soyfan opened the driver’s door. I thought - how bad can it be? Boy I was wrong. And why is this Infiniti equipped with a CVT? I thought the new Pathfinder had gotten rid of it?
This looks great on the exterior but yes the FX will always be king. Better exhauste note, V6, better handling. It was basically a lifted G35/350Z. Still see many on the road.
I don't know how Infiniti screwed up the exhaust on the "Q" cars. I had a G37 and everyone loved the exhaust and when you're in a parking lot you know someone just started an infiniti because of that distinct note.
@@SaHOG I think that was more the case for the 1st Gen G35s/FX/350z…they had the very distinctive exhaust from the factory. G37s and later Infinitis lost it after the redesign and were way too quiet.
I love my FX. It’s a beast, the handling is fun, and the engine is bullet proof. I was really disappointed to see a 4 cylinder and a cvt in the QX55. I was looking forward to the idea of trading up, but that won’t be happening. I’ll find a 2016 or 2017 QX70 with relatively low miles.

I don't think Nissan/Infiniti has ever made a great sounding or feeling 4 cylinder! You're totally right and spot on. Majority of the people leaving negative comments are very inept including the redline reviewer. They can't seem to comprehend that INFINITI has said this is inspired and not a successor of the FX. The QX55 is meant to be a coupe version of the QX50 so it makes perfect sense to keep the two screen layout. The resolution on the QX55's bottom infotainment & top screen Navi is the exact same as the new 2022 QX60, but these clowns leaving negative comments don't even realize it.

Hey Sofyan, nice vid! Hey off subject everyone, how do you folks feel about ambient lighting LED strips in autos these days? Is it a deal breaker if a car doesn't have it, or can you live without it? Just curious!
We love that design/detail trend. It’s not a deal breaker for us, but it is a noticeable omission, especially if it’s a luxury brand that’s missing it.
@@theredline Thanks for the reply! One of the vehicles on the list for my next purchase, is a Toyota Highlander XSE; no ambient lighting at all. When I had my 2014 Acura TL in for repairs, they gave me a TLX A-spec to drive, and I loved the ambient lighting! But it's not a deal breaker for me either.
This review is totally the opposite of most other reviews I’ve seen. Other reviews say it’s quiet (except for the engine), very good handling, good steering, with a great ride quality, but that was for the AWD.
Currently window shopping and I always take a look at the Infiniti because of the exterior design but then I remind myself it lacks tech, and for what the competitors offer it’s just not worth it.
The QX50 & QX55 needs a complete refresh, especially with the dated infotainment center and gauge cluster. They need to get rid of that troublesome Jatco CVT transmission and not worth $50,000. And the sound of the CVT Transmission during acceleration is horrible!
I don't think your opinion of QX50 or 55 matters. Plenty of Nissan and INFINITIs with the CVTs driving fine with no issues. It's still an automatic transmission, regardless of how many gears there are. It won't stop INFINITI from selling cars, neither will the opinions of you or Soyfan matter.
Infiniti (and Nissan) wont go any where in the current market with these ancient interiors, just compare them with Genesis and it's clear they are far behind interior design/tech/quality.
Can someone explain why would you like to have ambient light in a car? For me, that is only a gimmick, just to add something that is not needed and that can be damaged at some point, just to overcomplicate things inside a car.
Yeah it’s a gimmick. It started in luxury aircraft and high end vehicles. Now , with cars hitting the 50k+ range, it’s almost expected. I’d say it ads a touch of personality . I liked it in the BMW and I now enjoy it in my new 2022 MDX Aspec.
That is true since Genesis is the new startup like INFINITI was in 2003. It's also rear-biased, and one of the faster SUVs out there, just like the 2003 FX-series was.
I mean Infiniti really having a bad time selling cars due to things like this! Infiniti had to close tons of Infiniti dealerships and combine with Nissan dealerships. Infiniti sucks when it comes to competing to other brands!
I feel they should keep the 2.0 VC turbo in this car...unless they want to make a red sport version of every car they make, in which case the 3.0TT V6 from the Q50 red sport (same engine used in the "new" Nissan Z) would be a great choice, if it was designed for a transverse layout as well (I highly doubt that). The CVT needs to go though, no competitor in its segment uses a CVT except the hybrids.
Out of the Japanese competition, I’d happily take the Acura RDX no question. I am a fan of Honda/Acura products, and it just feels a lot more premium and it’s more fun to drive. I mean who puts a CVT in a luxury SUV and also it literally just looks like a more fancy Nissan interior. Infiniti just doesn’t differentiate itself enough from Nissan.
this is the funniest car review video on UA-cam, I liked how he liked the exterior and trashing the interior, that's exactly my reaction when I saw the car, the exterior looks so good but the interior is so bad if I had to buy an qx55 or Lexus RX I'd rather get the rx cause the interior looks way better than the qx55, Infiniti is like I'm suicidal I will die soon why would I change.
GORGEOUS Exterior.. Wish they would have give it, better/sportier seats. The interior overall is sad and outdated. But CVT.. Again, Stop making vehicles, "SPORTY" looking and then sticking with a CVT... An oxymoron for sure. Just like Subaru pairing a Turbo(Non STI) with a CVT.

Stopped caring till the word was spoken "CVT"
Hi Redline Reviews, what if Infiniti gets everything right all the time?
Then they might be a respected brand once again
In-person, especially the red looks so good but then you get inside and all of sudden you are back into the early 2000s.
Definitely need panoramic roof. Like the exterior look
So sad. I remember infinity was all the rage in Highschool. I’m talking about 03-07. I miss the g-35s as well as the FX-35s
I hear you! Back then they were viewed(in my eyes at least) as high class. I wouldn't even consider purchasing one of these, nothing special that stands out and the engine is junk.
@@ChazR25 they can still revamp themselves. A little effort, maybe bring back the m/t in some models.
The QX60 is much better. No CVT and interior has nice updates.
It's a mystery why they didn't put the new transmission in this.
@@DM-fp8uw cost cutting
@@zsamps Seems like cost cutting on a transmission that lasts on a $50k car that already has an odd engine is not such a great idea.
The inside looks good to me, I see simplicity, which equals longevity
6:33 G35 Gauges were backlit orange and looked completely different
New Mazda CX--50 with AWD and 2.5T just PUNKED the QX55 ;-)
Who in the heck would pay mid 50s to low 60s for this with only 2.0T and a CVT (UUGH)???
This QX55 looks fantastic but the PRICE and DRIVETRAIN are out in left field when you go see a new CX55 Turbo Premium Plus for $43k LOADED!
This was the last vehicle developed in the Carlos era the 2022 qx60 represents the future
The best looking small size luxury SUV 🚙, very cute and elegant.
Very Nice Bro! Get Good People!
Good review as always. Quick question? Which you like more; this or Lexus NX?
Thanks for your always honest, fare and respected opinion!!!
Imo neither. I’d take a venza over both of them
@@naveenthemachine that's because you can't afford either of em.
FX successor? Not even close.🏎
I think it sounds interesting actually, doesn't sound like a typical 2 litre turbo
Sounds like a Dodge Neon engine.
Reminds me of Japanese electronic industry that faded away slowly.
Agreed seeing the interior, no need to finish this video review.
This review is totally the opposite of most other reviews I’ve seen. Other reviews say it’s quiet (except for the engine), very good handling, good steering, with a great ride quality, but that was for the AWD.
Great review as usual but I think it's time you upgraded your camera equipment.
The FX is rolling over in its grave
Infiniti dropped the ball a long time ago. I had 2011 G37 that I loved for many years.. that and the FX were truly iconic in my book.
Is the Jaguar F-Pace video coming soon?
Currently window shopping and I always take a look at the Infiniti because of the exterior design but then I remind myself it lacks tech, and for what the competitors offer it’s just not worth it.
Genesis GV70..
fx 37 was stylish beast!what is this c/mon??)
Key fob is finally updated
Wow, the Genesis GV70 makes this thing look like a dinosaur.
Bloody infinity. What a tease
Infiniti now offers a virtual key (phone) for remote start and door access.
It’s too late Infiniti. Genesis has ended the brand.
So true, once genesis has a dealership network it’s game over for Infiniti
Wow for a 2022, that is a brutal interior
@@TheLaw_11 I respect your opinion
i’ll hold onto my fx37 until infiniti can make something comparable to that
Infiniti (and Nissan) wont go any where in the current market with these ancient interiors, just compare them with Genesis and it's clear they are far behind interior design/tech/quality.
Agreed
Nissan has improved their Interior designs, not so much Infiniti, but I hope that will change.
With that interior ... It's not competitive.
The GV70 is the modern day FX if you ask me. Not this...
That is true since Genesis is the new startup like INFINITI was in 2003. It's also rear-biased, and one of the faster SUVs out there, just like the 2003 FX-series was.
It's not Japan built, rear wheel drive, V6 FX successor. It's just Mexican Altima with hatchback body.
I would prefer a fully digital gauge cluster, a single screen setup, an automatic transmission, and the new Nissan/Infiniti door/seatbelt chime.
When they refresh the QX50, Infiniti needs to look at the 2022 QX80 for ideas on how to refresh it.
is that possible, that this QX55 is maybe a premium Renault Arkana ??
The way the 13 year old FX50 makes this look...
I mean Infiniti really having a bad time selling cars due to things like this! Infiniti had to close tons of Infiniti dealerships and combine with Nissan dealerships. Infiniti sucks when it comes to competing to other brands!
Saw this car the other day and it looked really nice.
They should put the 3.0 turbo
Dang thats really huge logo
I feel they should keep the 2.0 VC turbo in this car...unless they want to make a red sport version of every car they make, in which case the 3.0TT V6 from the Q50 red sport (same engine used in the "new" Nissan Z) would be a great choice, if it was designed for a transverse layout as well (I highly doubt that). The CVT needs to go though, no competitor in its segment uses a CVT except the hybrids.
I'm still trying to figure out why is Infiniti still around? Nothing they have is desirable especially now that we have the Genesis brand.
Exactly, genesis will eventually kill Infiniti
@@joskjj3625 eventually I suspect genesis will kill Lexus. Tbh even their latest products leave a bit to be desired for a luxury category vs genesis
Speak for yourself
@@naveenthemachine that will probably never happen as Lexus still sells a lot more vehicles than genesis
@@joskjj3625 true but they are moving up quickly. And fairly soon people will see that they would rather have a bespoke platform vs a gussied up rav4
The display is really bad, that's my only problem with the car, it looks nice overall👍
yea they should make it one big screen
I feel like infinity is trying to go out of business
They will eventually
And now that genesis exists, I think that Lexus could possibly go out of business too since genesis puts them both to shame
Now they need to do the Q50
It's weird I'm not a fan of crossovers but I like the looks of this.... But we need that damn vr30 in this thing to make it something someone would want
Why are all Japanese luxury brand's cars look so good on the outside but the interior looks so disappointing 😭
Emergency refresh the infotainment and powertrain and you have a winner! People clearly want the cvt gone
