40:49 Funny thing is that's the whole reason why he started rapping on his own beats. Every time he tried giving beats to other people they'd be like "tf is this shit"
Nah ngl I knew he would tbh, tho if you could go back to even Black Ben Carson, Veteran, The Ghost Pop Tape, All my heroes are cornballs ect I think you’ll have a great listening experience overall like myself Deli 🔥💚⚡️
@@ItsTeeAyy AMHAC is probably my favorite of his, veteran second or third. All of them are worth listening to at some point, but it's a lot to process in a short amount of time.
@@jm6406 I can understand what you mean… I mean to be fair, AMHAC is probably the most palatable project so it doesn’t surprise that it’s a lot of peoples favourite project. It’s hard for me to say which one is my favourite as I really do enjoy them all. But you do need to take time to process each project, that’s just a given with Peggy tbh.
I know we're all focused on Peggy but, Danny Brown is a legend of rap you should 100% check out his music, from xxx to atrocity exhibitoon and the ones later he is truly one of the greatest to ever do it
Cornballs is my favorite, LP! is most people's favorite, and veteran is the favorite of the OG fans. EP and EP2 are also what I considered his Best, at least until the new one came out.
What the guy above me said. Black Ben Carson also has some of his most insane and creative production and under the name Devon Hendryx Peggy made plenty of other projects. The ghost pop tapes being my favorite one because of the subject matter it tackles and the vibe it captures being so unique to that album. It’s a must listen.
@@trydodis690I know it’s like the typical normie pick when figuring out what his best Devon Hendryx project is, but I agree with u and think it’s GPT. He really leveled up his production and actually created what felt like a coherent somber roller coaster of emotions that he was going through. All his other tapes besides Dreamcast Summer felt conceptually lacking to me. Idk it’s perfect album for me, he even made some of the bonus songs some of the best on the album
Danny browns voice is so interesting, it takes a little to get used too. I'd recommend listening to Atrocity Exhibition if you want to hear more from him.
You listened to me broooo letssss gooooo this album is my 2023 aoty also you should react to the dlc version of this it comes with 4 more songs and one of them is genuinely one of the best songs I’ve ever heard (hermanos)
You’re right. I’ve seen many with the same sentiment and I also believe that. It’s a throwback album from far into the future. And he only made it on one machine
u a real one for opening your mind to new music and a new audience. Ngl bro the best way to grow your channel is to react to the classics from like kdot, ye, tyler, etc. Idk how tapped in you are to the classic old albums but those reactions would get you the most views. Good shit gng
You def need to do the SCARING THE HOES: DLC PACK, it's got some laid back shit with some crazy bangers, also the video for the album is crazy, you need to see that for sure
this is genuinely my favorite album of all time, there has not been a single album that i would go from wtf is this shit to listening to this shit all the time and not getting bored at all
I will say the thing about experimental music is that your enjoyment may depend on you willing to give it multiple listens and see if it grows on you. I had to learn that and it really pays off. First JPEGMAFIA album I listened to was All my heroes are cornballs when it came out. I only liked a handful of songs at first. And I just kept listening and listening. Next thing you know the whole album was the soundtrack to my freshman year of college.
Danny is one of those guys who really grows on you over time. also 90% of this album was primarily produced using the Roland SP-404SX really oldschool production methods ect
@23:14 he does this on purpose to because the production of the beat is equally, if not more important than the lyrics in some cases. As you said in the previous album session, you have to listen to it all as a complete piece, the vocals are another instrument in the song as opposed to what the song is made around like a lot of rap music
not just dumbed down but he sucks away its creativity and replaces it with homogeny. not only drake is guilty of that but he's the biggest, guiltiest, most prominent example
I think HOE actually combines two different time signatures and that's why it sounds "offbeat." It's 100% intentional but it's some crazy experimental shit that you're not even supposed to be able to rap over
pleeease also react to Scaring the Hoes DLC pack - 4 extra tracks and theyre clean af - mix a lot more polished. just remember jpeg is KNOWN for weird beats, absolutely everything is intentional. theres literally endless generic beats everywhere so just know he would never try make his beat more 'normal' lol! but this is why we love dude. I def think youll like Offline! cuz its smoother -- the whole album is in a single video on jpeg's youtube channel which has my favourite version of Rebound!
I just found your channel, but I am so excited for you to go through his peggy's discog -- I love watching people getting converted. Going backwards is gonna show you that this niggas BEEN polished and dirty with the production and raps from the jump. Enjoy the music bro
Danny Browns voice does come off as grating at first but I think it’s great in the context of his own music since he is known to have some of the most outlandish and funny bars in his songs. A lot of his songs cover the subject of drugs and sex so his voice being the way it does perfectly captures the addicted and crude life he lived the majority of his life. Atrocity exhibition perfectly captures his journey through substance abuse by creating an uncomfortable but introspective vibe around the subject. XXX which is an older album the album most filled with his funny one liners and verses and really puts on display his talent to rap on some of the most unhinged beats.
listening for the first time in a while heaven on earth is such a crazy song, didnt like dannys part at first but now i love them weird pockets he was flowing in
The mix is intentional. It’s okay if you don’t like it but I think they were going for a 90s vintage type feel with the vocal mix. Like it’s a throwback from the future. Also this the first time he had someone else mix the album with him in the credits. He also produced the whole album on one machine and I think that’s also a part of it.
Ik people saying his new album is cinematic cause of the strings etc but honestly this one is more cinematic to me in a way where I wouldn’t play most of these songs in the car but I can def see this album working perfect as the backdrop to some crazy blaxpoitation movie
If you keep listening to more stuff from Danny you’ll probably end up enjoying his voice. It just takes some time to acclimate, and once that happens you’ll start to notice how skilled he is as a rapper.
You are going to enjoy LP OFFLINE more than this. I think you would also enjoy Danny browns solo works. This album is made for a very specific kind of person (like me) and I totally understand why you don’t get it yet 😭😭💯
i absolutely get this first reaction, i didnt like this album too the first time around and that dannys voice was wack as hell, but this album is the pinnacle of "grower not a shower". dont worry deli this will be your top 10 at least in a few months
Both Prggy and Danny Brown are amazing artists. I would really recommend you check out Dannys "Atrocity Exhebition" or JPEGs "LP! Offline" which are both 10/10s
saying you'd think danny brown was a producer on a peggy album is pretty crazy, but i respect it since you dont know him. You should def check him out!
also if you’ve seen danny browns name before it was likely on a posse cut. he has a song on atrocity exhibition w kendrick, earl, and ab soul, and then he’s on an asap rocky album posse cut also with kendrick and hella other ppl
Honestly based off your 2 Peggy album reactions, I think LP! Offline will probably be your favorite of his, Def his easiest album to get into, It's creative but nothing off the wall crazy like this album, Most people consider LP! Offline his best work and for me personally i feel the same way, Whole album is full of creative bangers left and right. Def worth a listen since you already seem to be heading back in his catalog.
