    The 79-89 Toyota 4x4 has been slowly creeping up over the years with clean unmolested 85/86 models just now tipping the 15k mark. The problem is finding one that hasn't been hammered to death or rusted out. They were dirt cheap at one point and got used/abused and parted out.

      Yes, in our area rust is the biggest problem. The Toyota’s are far better mechanically than the Land Rovers. The reason I mentioned discoveries is that they are at that tipping point where they are worth next to nothing or 15k. Thanks for watching and for your insight here. Cheers!

    I also agree about the values on the 996. People need to pull the trigger now before they spike further

      Yes indeed. Turbos and low mile Carreras are already bringing 30% more than a year ago. It’s coming. Thanks for watching and for your comment

    What do you think about the the 1983 944?

    • @TimsEnthusiastGarage
      @TimsEnthusiastGarage  4 роки тому

      Vincenzo Landino love them. Can’t say enough good about the transaxle Porsches. The 85.5 with the newer dash has a lot of little refinements but for the money you can’t beat a 944. The 944 s2 is a brilliant car with a bit more performance and will eventually be very very valuable. The 951 (944 turbo) is also amazing but a completely different car than either the 944, 944s or S2. If you own a 944, consider yourself lucky and enjoy it. They will only go up in value from here.

    Where is the quattroporte in your list 💔💔💔💔

      They are great buys right now for sure. That car is still depreciating here in the states and will likely stay low for the next few years hence it isn’t on the list. They are mega value right now and great collector cars to be sure

    Couldn't agree with you more on the Aston call, have loved those since they came out and STILL a timelessly sexy car. And the sound they can make... ugh!

      Lucore Auto and LucoreRacing I could totally see you or Rich rocking one of these. At somewhere between 27-32 I would say it is completely in the realm of possibility

      @@TimsEnthusiastGarage In the Austin Garage there will be one of those some day, it's a great mix of Euro Classy and American muscle.

    Agree on the 348! It’s clearly NOT a facelift which the 355 very much is, and you can see it. I’m sure the 355 is better but I like the 348 design

    • @TimsEnthusiastGarage
      @TimsEnthusiastGarage  4 роки тому +2

      yes, I completely agree with you. The 348 is a total original. I find it beautiful. From a design stand point I like that the 348 is a true clean slate design. Cheers and thanks so much for watching and for your comment.

    Great review Tim. My investment on my Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 has doubled in value. I personally love the look of the 88 -89 Dodge Conquest TSI...since my teenage driving years is that of the late 80s. I have my Porsche 928S4...but prices have not increased; however, I'm seeing an increase for the later 944 turbo and S'....which are sexy. Keep rolling this good footage.

      Conquest TSi another great call! Problem for those of who like to modify cars, would be really REALLY hard to keep your hands off!

      Edwin Thomas 944 are on the rampage right now. The 928 (perhaps due to complexity) is still keeping people away. The GTS has been strong for a long time. It’s somewhat ironic that I do not consider those to be the best to drive. FJ60 will only go up and you have toyota reliability to enjoy there. The conquest and starion have always been beautiful and somewhat underrated cars. I still see them available very affordably. Soon all cars from that era will creep into the realm of “real money”. Thanks for watching and for your insightful comment! Cheers!

    I wouldn’t take another discovery if it was given to me for free! I had a used 97, and bought a new leftover 04. Garbage trucks. The motors have a fatal flaw, that will happen regardless. 🤮

      Sarah Dell we have owned discoveries for the last 15 years or so. I’m actually looking at a 2003 tomorrow. The 4.6 is rubbish but I have a guy that has a pretty amazing fix for them. With them going up in value it makes sense to keep a nice one around. If you had a bad experience (like I did with bmw m6) there is nothing that can ever cover that. You will always be gun shy and rightfully so. Keep in mind too I am suggesting these as cars that get a thousand miles a year, not a reliable transport lol. Cheers and thanks so much for your thoughts!

    Great Video! Does the Vantage drive as nice as the Gransport? thx Adam

      The diff isn’t as locked as the GS. The gearing is more muted in the Aston as well. I think the interior and exterior styling of the Aston is more timeless and iconic.

      Cristiano Costa we were just talking about that. I have driven TTs as winter cars for 12 or 13 years. Kinda crazy I haven’t done one . Thanks for watching

    I think I would prefer an automatic transmission for off-roading because I have limited experience and it's one less thing to worry about.
    Weekend road car should be manual though.

    • @TimsEnthusiastGarage

      I totally agree with you on this. I had a manual one and it was a pig off road and really hard to creep like you can in an auto
