I didnt know the rogue cut existed before this and it was awesome, definitely the best xmen movie so far
I personally think the pace is all fucked up. They also screwed up two great scenes by splicing them together, Magneto raiding the Pentagon and old Magneto and Bobby rescuing Rogue
The mangoes had me dying
Especially at 1:11:12 and onward man I was dying :D
I'm watching this now...and my abdominal section is killing me. If I EVER need a good laugh again...I know where to come back to!
"Hide the Mango's!!"
I agree with Nick. I liked Days of Future Past more than the bottom 10 MCU on their list
Also agree that Black Panther is ranked too high
For me it’s only the bottom like 3 or 4, from the lowest ranked iron Man, but it was by far the best x men so far, I’d put it under either Deadpool or Logan tho
Winter Soldier and Days of Future Past were my favorite movies that year
Me too, I don't know why they are acting like nick is crazy after they praised this movie for 2 hours
Totally agreeing with Nick here. Its a great movie.
I kind of agree with Nick, I think this movie is better than a decent amount of the bottom-list MCU movies. I really really love it.
1:10:10 eyes watering...coughing...hiccuping you guys nearly killed me
Gotta side with Nick on this, it would be a top ten mcu movie
Jeremyfilms glad you enjoy it,but I personally think most of the mcu is still on another level, I’d put everything but Thor Thor 2 and Hulk over this
I agree mate. Just behind avengers for me.
1000% better than Black Panther. That movie is absolutely ranked FAR too high. BP is trash and too political and too many stupid under tones.
@@alexlawrence6440 that is fucking NUTS. Anybody who says that this doesn't beat at least half of the MCU is incredibly biased against the XCU. Days of Future Past would be well into my top 10
@@DannyTanimoto Days of Future Past beats any MCU movie as far as I'm concerned. Shit some consider Winter Soldier as the best in the MCU and many would agree this is a better movie. Not to mention it handles time travel WAY better than Endgame
1:10:00 - 1:11:10 NO KEVIN THIS IS THE BEST KIND OF CONTENT HAHAHHAHAHHA
Please make a “hide the mango” shirt🤣
I’m with Nick. Days of Future Past is Fantastic. I would put it just below avengers. It would be my number 8.
I would honestly put ‘Days of Future Past’ so much higher on the MCU list. It’s top five for me. One of the more creative and entertaining superhero movies I’ve ever seen.
It's the greatest CBM ever made as far as I'm concerned. The Citizen Kane of the genre... so far.
You guys are ridiculously hard on these movies. This is would definitely rank top ten in the MCU movies.
If this was made by Marvel Studios, there would be no end to the love and it would be well-deserved. BUT NO. These nutcases are insanely bias about who makes these movies and why.
most of them are marvel fanboys what did you expect? disney marvel
literally the only video I look forward to every week
Thanks! - Greg
Yup. Gonna be sad again once it's over. Like I was when MCU was over. Lol
They hold the marvel movies waaay too high, and shit on the X-Men movies too much. Nick is 100% right. Definitely better than a lot of those marvel movies.
THE BEST CBM ever made IMO. Even the scene in Quicksilver's basement was far more perfect than almost anything I've seen in the MCU. It's like with every shot and angle, we literally learn something new about Quicksilver, from what he loves (Twinkies and Pong) to how he thinks and feels. And that's just one scene. The fights with the Sentinel Xs were insanely powerful. Spider-Man 2 was my favorite CBM until this masterpiece came out of nowhere and OMG, it blew my fucking mind. I didn't think the 7th film could be that good.
Brolin + Elba as Cable + Bishop would be fucking beautiful
Just put Elba in everything: X-Men, James Bond, me, Green Lantern, Star Wars...
1:10:10 with the mangos...oh my stars and garters that almost took me out lmaoooo 😂😂😂
That main X-men movie theme you're referring to, it started in X2 and was brought back in Days of Future Past.
It was like Bryan Singer was reaching out to fans saying "I'M SORRY I LEFT YOU GUYS BUT I'M BACK!" when you heard that theme song again.
WTF is wrong with this awesome X-Men theme?? How can these MCU fanboys jump on EVERYTHING in these movies?
How many people paused the video just to UA-cam the Quicksilver scene
Nick is absolutely right, days of future past is one of the best superhero movies ever it’s better than most MCU movies
Damn, forgot its Thursday, been a hard week, so looking forward to this, thank you guys!!
All 3 of them thought three different things were happening with those mangoes but the thing they came up with was HILARIOUS
Awesome runtime
The theme song was introduced in X2
thanks i thought i was going crazy for a second
See, one of the things I like about the reviews of these older movies is that they're much longer than the ones they review when it just comes out.
I don’t know your names but whoever was defending days of future past being 10 on the Mcu ranking you’re absolutely right dofp is one of the best superhero movies ever made
Commentating before I watch just to say I love you fellas no matter what.
IT'S HERE, FINALLY! I now have a reason to get up this morning.
First time I ever heard of the rogue cut. Looked it up right after and loved it. Such a great addition
The sister NOT shown is Scarlet Witch. They added the "go see your sister" bit in the Rogue Cut, as people were confused - given the age differences between the two shown.
I like how Kevin acts like he’s a part of ragubagu
RD Films .......ok
Preying Ocelot he isn’t a part of RaguBagu, it’s just Andy and gregg
So does nick they decided they’re copresidents it’s great
RD Films yeah but nick and Kevin both act like they do
The stadium is the RFK memorial stadium and it's a multi-purpose stadium. College teams play there regularly for football and baseball and other sports and events. It's also often used as a concert venue.
This film is one of the best Superhero films! With Nick 100000% on this one. How they say this is in the bottom 10 to Tim and some of the others is INSANITY
Please can we have a wizarding world in review next
ItAlex YES!
ItAlex that'd be amazing!
Just do it!!!
They should do it as a leadup to Crimes Of Grindelwald, so that they review the first Fantastic Beasts the week before the new one is out.
Hell yeah, dude
"The holes are from Beast!" had me dying!!!
1:10:05 is when the mango joke happens
This is why Thursdays are my fave days.... Also I get paid on Thursdays... But this too
Could you guys rank the mcu with the xcu in a separate list? it would be cool to see how they all stack up
1:10:11 oh my god LOL LOL
As a child of one of the members of Reo Speedwagon, I very much appreciate you guys breaking into “keep on loving you.”
I think Nick is totally right. This movie is way better than the majority of the MCU movies.
This movie was boring
but it totally wasn't tho. The story was super great. All of the set pieces were super unique and cool, McAvoy and Fassbender just give it there all and really knock it out of the park. This movie is just filled with so much heart and soul.
Cameron Nowak nah definitely not the majority, but better than 16-19 for sure
It was RFK stadium. The Washington Senators baseball team was there until 1971
Super late but for future reference, Nick brings up the "I don't know Karate, but I know K-razy," around 43:30. This would've been a somewhat "hip" reference to the James Brown song The Payback, which released in 1973.
Champ to champ ranking the good guys would be insane
Days of Future Past is better than all of Phase 2 MCU easily. So Nick is right.
I'm honestly shocked Nick didn't bring up Quicksilver's hair haha
thebeastnj big wig got em. It’s not even questionable anymore he can’t be trusted
You should do that "where would it be in the other list" with the DCEU movies but on the X-Men list.
Man I love these shows!
Mangos and "No way out boy" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 still hilarious
The theme song was in x2 guys
Quick reply to Tim: The ending with Striker being Mystique, implies that that Charles and Mystique SAVED Wolverine. Him not remembering anything anymore, likely left to live his own life. The real Stryker likely found him later to do the Weapon X project. Hence Apocalypse
LightHack1 I just think they skipped over that when making the next movie. Lol
the funniest thing is when tim getty's is looking at his watch to check the year
I need some explanation about the JKF plot. So Eric bent the trajectory of the bullet in an effort to save him, but the bullet killed him anyway? How does that happen? Did the shooter miss but Eric corrected for him?
The "Science Science with Kev" song is totally the "Charlie the Drunk Guinea Pig" theme song from Smosh.
No end credit scene with beast and mangoes?
Omg! Beast and mangos.......... I will never be able to think about both the same, and I have this to thank for that! Great job gents! This has to be a done IRL at SDCC lol.
Side note: The Stadium is suppose to be RFK Stadium...... but theyweren't allowed to say it was RFK stadium in D.C.
Yes, all the good Xmen movies are here and coming up. There should be a segment where if you had to stick them in the MCU list, where would they rank? Have to say, Logan......top 5 in the MCU list.
Honest question: What age is the "space age" if you're in 1973? What is the material and where/how did they get so much of it?
My ranking so far:
1. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
2. X-Men: First Class (2011)
3. The Wolverine Unleashed Cut (2013)
4. X2: X-Men United (2003)
5. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
6. X-Men (2000)
7. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
So...I almost ran my car off the road dying from laughter at the mangos bit. At least it would've been a good way to go out. Thanks KF
No mention of magneto giving logan hes metal again. I also didnt see if they mentioned Xavier looking to logan's mind. That's just a great scence.
Why do you insist on sunglasses Kevin?!! Jk love you guys good stuff!
i agree with nick, this movie has some amazing moments and story beats that destroy half the MCU rankings for sure.
Since we only have 4 more of these, what is the next in review series? Star wars.
Greg is correct, Apocalypes wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. It will end up being in their top 6 I bet (assuming the include the Deadpool movies in this, if not it will be in their top 5 for sure)
I for one like Apocalype
Omg, best KF video EVER. I'm dying here.
this was the first X movie that it didnt mind watching again, i havent seen Apokolypse or Logan so im looking forward to seeing them.
i would put this movie at 14 on the MCU, right above Age of Ultron.
I'm with Nick and Greg, loved this film and reckon it ranks well in the MCU list. Probably put it above Doctor Strange as it has a much more interesting plot and characters.
The XMen universe doesn't get enough credit. Its exactly where DCEU wants to be where their movies aren't really as dark as the DCEU but isn't cracking a joke every 3 lines like the MCU. They sit in this gray area in-between and its perfect.
Nick is right and if you didn't live in a bubble you would understand that this movie is considered far better than most mcu films. See the imdb and rt scores
They should add a “Present Day Only” cut where it’s literally just them sitting in the room awkwardly watching Logan sleep
FUCKIN DEM MANGOOOOZZZZ
Next In Review: AOMMCNU (All Other Marvel Movie Cinematic Non-Universe)
DoFP would definitely be top 10 MCU, especially when you take Guardians 2 out of the top 10. Still can't believe they have that so high.
Chris Walken's favorite mutant is quickSILver
What makes me the most confused, at the end when "The Logan" is pulled from the water, Stryker is Mystique. His eyes glow yellow leading me to believe that Raven rescued Wolverine so stryker DID NOT have him to experiment on. So in that case "ORIGINS" didn't happen...at least not the way it is portrayed. Logan is recruited during Vietnam, this movie starts when Vietnam ends. 10 years after that, Victor "kills" silver fox and pushes The Logan to accept the experiment. That doesn't happen clearly since the soft reboot of First Class, so maybe Stryker remembers Logan from earlier in this film and knows that he is prime for Weapon X program, but when or how he got him to do it is still unknown! Though a scene in Apocalypse MAY clear this up but I don't remember and i will wait till next Thursday to watch it. At least to me i'm confused...does anyone else have a better idea cuz it is still doesn't make sense.
I think that Stryker did found him later and put in the Weapon X Program. Mystique try to save him but the Government chase them to much.
Wow. That Macuga burn.
Completely agree with Nick. I’d have this above Black Panther easily!
I strongly believe that the fact that this movie did what marvel did with infinity war 4 years before the mcu with a worst timeline and many retcons, manage to have a more interesting story line than many mcu movies, kinda fixed and erased movies like origins and last stand, give the perfect sent off too my first childhood superheroes (at least for me) and looking all well and alive with that beautiful last scene that only gives me goosebumps and nostalgia the first time i saw it, makes it one of the best superheroes movies of all time, around a top 10, also because every shot and the way they manage to make the movie on a 70s setting and worked so well with amazing visual in regards of the time period, makes it even better than any other modern superheroe film with only working on the present settings. The editing and directing was amazing. I love letter to the xmen movie fans to be honest. (cant defend apocalypse with 80s setting because that movie had so many problems)
PSA: RAGU BAGU is missing Styker from X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He is below "These fucks" from Thor 2
I'm with the champ, this easily contends with some of the MCU, at the very least the bottom 10. The Quicksilver scene and Magneto pulling Mystique by the bullet are two of the most memorable superhero moments whereas Ant-Man and Doctor Strange I immediately forgot the next day.
The greatest X-Men DoFP review on the internet.
They had to shoot the same actors doing the exact same thing in the France scene with mystique beating everyone up multiple times. I don't know how they did it so well but they did.
7. X-Men: The Last Stand
6. X-Men
5. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
4. X2
3. The Wolverine
2. X-Men: Days of Future Past
1. X-Men: First Class
"it's Heimdall! Heimdall is in the movie! And then I realized I was racist" - Greg Miller LOL that got me
This Quicksilver is the better Quicksilver. That's been established. What I find hilarious though is that *this* Quicksilver would have survived Age of Ultron.
Can someone tell me what Cool Greg said at the very end?
Kevin W
"we hit 2 hours" or something similar
Days of Future Past was definitely at least better than Doctor Strange. This movie was such a success.
The end of origins never happened because deadpool changed the timeline, also these movies are prequels to the originals meaning the first 3 movies are from the new timeline after future past and so are deadpool 1 and 2, but the wolverine movies and first class happened before future past. Obviously logan is last.
I wanna see where u guys rank logan compared to the mcu.
"what if I told you diamonds are forever". I fucking love Nick
I believe the X-men you’re referring to is sunspot, not Jonny storm.
The way I think about it, Origins: Wolverine is already not considered canon, even before the timeline change in Days of Future Past.
When Wolverine wakes up in the 70s, he's working as hired muscle for gangsters in New York. In Origins during this time, he's in the Vietnam war and afterwards is working with 40-year-old Stryker in Task Force X. Also during all the flashback scenes, the only footage from Origins that is used is a shot of Wolverine's bone claws being snapped and nothing else.
Mystique's random array of skills and abilities is ridiculous and stupid in this.
In the comics she's as old as Wolverine and was born in the Victorian era, so it makes sense that she's learn a million abilities and languages.
Here....she's like 20 years old, and she spent most of them as a scrubby orphan, CLEARLY not going to school. It doesn't make any sense.
She is not orphan her parents beat her all the time that she left her home.
My Personal Rankings: (so far)
1. X-Men: First Class
2. X-Men: Days of Future Past
3. X2: X-Men United
4. The Wolverine
5. X-Men: The Last Stand
6. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
7. X-Men
Ok. Now we've got to the true gold.
Again... “I’m your baby toNIIIIIIIGHT!”
I completely agree with Nick Scarpino
The "Rogue looking" kid is Nate Grey. A version of Cable.
that what the movie try to apply but they never confirm it.
Sophia Wilson That's because Singer and crew like to dance around the fire, but never walk the coals. The only character moment they have confirmed is Cyclops and Havok being brothers. Quicksilver/Magneto and Mystique/Nightcrawler is still up in the air. I think they might have confirmed Xavier and Juggernaut, but that source doesn't count for the regular movies. When it comes to these movies, Kinda Funny has the right course of action, "Forget what you know."
Yessss I agree with Nick. I would have put days of future past at 10 aswell
I think Nick's take on DoFP in the entire ranking is one of the first times I've agreed with him when it comes to movies.
