Machines malfunction and crash specially while testing. One of the reason why the Osprey crashed during development was due to USMC wanting different mods. Glad to see that they got it right... Finally.... That design has been the death of many good test pilots and Marines.... Very slick machine. I worked with a lot of people who moved to Amarillo TX to build those for Textron. Great to see it fly well!

It offers versatility. As well as Vertical take off and landing capabilities, the tiltrotor design allows for a reasonably fast cruising speed with the increased efficiency fo fixed wing aircraft. I think one of the key mission objectives for the Osprey is covert infiltration, exfiltration and night ops work.
