A Chaps I would *so* buy one of these and pop a speaker in to do that at enough volume to burst the eardrums of a blue whale fifty miles away. And then maybe add another function to it to play the Battlefield 1 Zeppelin horn.
It’s funny because the first of those movies showed the first three Ospreys ever to see service in the SOCCENT scenes at the beginning. I guess Michael Bay and co. decided not to have one be a transformer because having an “extra” Osprey would’ve been too conspicuous, though at least Hasbro made an action figure of a Decepticon named Incinerator who had that aircraft as his alt-mode.
They had to make the footprint smaller, a lot of these aircraft are going to be on aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships and need to be able to fit in the aircraft elevators and hanger decks.
Mridul Mohan hes making a pun how couldnt you see that, your like the guy at parties who corrects someone for “saying” the wrong there, their or they’re
This reminded me of that scene in Godzilla KOTM where a couple of Ospreys dropped off from that Mother ship in transport form then immediately transforming for conventional flight. And it was a bit faster now that I've seen the actual thing.
that's out at the Amarillo plant, I was volunterring my time at the Texas Air an Space Museum which is right next door and we would see this stuff everyday
Why would they want to ? It’s supposed to combine the advantages of a plane and a helicopter, but in reality it’s shit at being either of those, and it’s about ten time more expensive.
Foi legal o helicóptero se transformando, mas só faltou esperar levantar vôo, aí o vídeo estaria completo. Mas é algo extraordinário inventado pelo homem. 👏👏👏👏
+op3l That's true, but the foldability and stowing ability means more of the machines could be stored in a single transport or storage facility. Also, while maintenance-free operations is vital for something like a family car, in my opinion the requirements of tactical operations justifies having to constantly monitor the condition of the parts. Monitoring shouldn't be an issue, if you have it you literally have an army ready to care for it. One day technology will be advanced enough to do away with these complicated joints, but for the time being, these things look damn cool.
Carrier storage. Space is a preceous commodity so alot of carrior craft have some way to take up less space. This has one of the most extreme examples of this. Same reason fa-18s have folding wings
What?!?! True they do have batteries but as long as an engine is running, it produces it's own power, both electrical and hydraulic. The batteries are maybe a little over twice the size of a car battery.
The engineering behind this thing is mind boggling
I can see why its development was riddled with problems that they worked hard to resolve.

Its mostly hydraulic valves porting fluid and shaking the crap out of it.

See these things flying almost daily and never realized the wings pivoted like that. Pretty neat how they made all that work together.

Excellent film footage and sound.
Yes an engineers nightmare. I make a tiny part of that and it is no picnic
More things that can go wrong?😅
Mechanical Engineering at its finer forms.
Just one word
Avenger.
Nop, nope nope ... I just saw it ... and that's not possible!!!!! How did they get that design to work. AMAZING piece of engineering.
I think it can fold itself so it can be put in larger transport.. like C5 Galaxy or an Aircraft Carrier
Exactly: it’s so carriers can fit more of them.
That is America! Simply the Best among the very best! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
DRAGON FLY SPAWN!! IT'S BEAUTIFUL
It was a nightmare for sure. No wonder it took some 20 years? to put together. Amazing accomplishment.
One of the coolest man-made birds I've ever seen. Surely the chinese already stole the blueprints but their copycat industry can't figure it out yet.

It's just a more technically advanced HYV Avenger.
We need to collaborate with the Japanese and create a real Gundam.
Poor Marines lost 6 before they realized they're supposed to fold them up to store and unfold them to fly.
Navy stops using swing-wing planes due to their complexity.
Marines: "Check out how many blades I got folded into my Swiss Marine Plane."
HOLY HELL!! TRANFORMERS
Holy hell:)
all those moving parts just to spin the whole wing assembly arounda mechanics nightmare if that breaks.
The metamorphosis of a v-22 i love nature documentals
i never knew it could do that!
They do it for easy storage.
It puts them in a smaller package so more can fit on a carrier.
This has been done since the 1940’s.
All it needs is transforming sounds
This honestly should of been Blackout’s alt mode
God I love how advanced our transports are.
My daughter's in NC at this moment learning to fly the Osprey...

Feels like watching the Transformers in slomo.
That's how they're able to fit these below deck on the carriers
Ngl I bet 80% of ppl never knew this thing can even do this
That's a lot of moving parts(potential places of failure) before the plane is even ready to fly.
+op3l That's true, but the foldability and stowing ability means more of the machines could be stored in a single transport or storage facility. +op3l But you can fly it from the moment you unload it from the cargo plane.
It takes hours to get a helo in flying condition.
+op3l It's necessary for it to take up the same footprint as a Phrog aboard a naval vessel.
Yeah brilliant idea to make A HELICOPTER even more complicated....Dense cloud of spare parts flying in close formation just got more parts XD
But it's cool af
