our girl boss is back!!!
Looking forward to this. Alien is my fav movie of all time, which you watched. Bet your gonna love this! :)
Newt is the daughter of the colonists who were sent to find the alien ship. She's the girl who screams when her mom gets back with her dad who has a facehugger stuck on his face.
Newt was the daughter of the guy who found the derelict ship with the eggs and there were more children there as well. It is a scène that wasn't in the version you watched
Hi, i like your 2 Alien reactions but you should look the longer Special Edition, than you would understand the story of the small girl and why Ripley did everything for her better.
Burke didn't want Ripley & Newt to die, he wanted to infect them to get the alien past quarantine.
Newt was part of a family that lived in the colony that occupied the complex. The company sends these workers (and their families) to set up atmospheric processors to make the air breathable, probably for future company purposes. All was going well until Burke found out about the Aliens (from Ripley) and sent someone to investigate the crashed ship containing the alien eggs (without warning them of the potential danger).
This was in the extended cut. Ripley was a mother. Her daughter died of old age 2 years before Ripley was rescued. Ripley needed the act of saving Newt to make up for her not being there for her daughter.
There were many children in the colony. All were killed by the aliens. Newt was the only survivor. Bringing her out alive became the mission. The only survivor of the lost colony.
Ripley never says "I told you so". Death isn't something one should gloat over. She just keeps trying to help and offer logical observations.
The organization that Ripley works for and which gives her a hearing at the beginning is not "some sort of NASA." This is in a future time when space travel, even interstellar travel, is common and lots of companies have the capability to do it. Ripley works for a company called Weyland-Yutani Corp. In the first movie the people in the ship were miners transporting ore. In "Aliens" one of this company's business areas is to terraform worlds that are almost Earthlike so that they are more Earthlike, for example giving them breathable atmospheres. In this era, humans have colonized several different solar systems. They don't need anything like NASA to develop space travel anymore.
When they found Newt, you said, "There's no other reason why there would be a little girl in outer space, surely." But at Ripley's hearing, the manager had said that 60 or 70 families, colonists, lived on that planet.
Looks like you watched the theatrical cut. There's an extended cut (17-mins longer I think) that comes with a prologue giving a tad more backstory to Newt, plus other additions and scene extensions.
I think it makes sense that these highly trained marines wouldn’t be listening to someone who was basically a “space trucker” in the original movie and then was in hyper sleep for over 50 years. They would be wondering why she was even there in the first place.
Roughly comparable to a Merchant Marine service but in space. She had the rank of warrant officer, making her third in command (hence "third officer reporting"). I think Burke got her reinstated as a lieutenant, right? That would make her comparable to Kane in the first movie in the sense of her being second in command to whoever was leading the mission. Unless I'm taking the nomenclature too literally.
@@judsongaiden9878 Company employee ranks are not army ranks. There, you compare a rank of military officer to a simple rank of head of department for example.
Ripley specifies it exactly in the scene where Burk who represents the company of which she is a part, does not have the authority of Hicks because it is a military operation then Burk and Ripley are only civilians.
I love that when Bishop points out the emergency venting, Hicks doesn't question or second guess. He just goes, "How long until it blows?" 🤣 I love movies where the characters are smart and they still have shit fall apart on them.
Let's assume for the moment that this cut of the film didn't include the early scene of Newt and her fam out exploring. It still was noted early on that there were 60-70 FAMILIES on the planet....so, presumably, that means children. They found one survivor so of COURSE they'll take her with them.
Ripey showed easily that she can take command troops in battle. I mean you either follow her or the other outcome is you die. This proves that Ripley has enough to care who is under her command and we'll that is what makes leaders at least best military leaders in movies. The one thing I love about this movie is the addition of Newt who really helps us the audience know exactly what kind of woman Ripley is. The most thing about her in this movie is she was a mother and that is fleshed out perfectly in this movie with their dynamic. Ripley takes this hard job of caring and looking after a child while all hell is breaking loose around her. To me this is the heart of Aliens.
12:48 They are surprised because Ripley is a flight officer, who would not have a clue about operating power loaders. Burke comments on this condescendingly at her apartment, saying that working at the loading docks is all the work she could find. So it's very low-level. Ferro also refers to her as Snow White, implying white collar worker.
Yes, on Amazon there are two plush xenomorphs you can buy: a facehugger version and a chestburster.
10:55 Synths have superhuman abilities that make them indispensable for missions like these. Turbo dexterity, encyclopedic knowledge, unaffected by fear or anxiety, can withstand getting ripped apart or losing body parts, apparently easy to fix (if not perfectly), plus they don't have to breathe.
39:47 Chekov's power loader.
40:02 I'm guessing for the same reason there's no music throughout the majority of the famous chase scene in 'Ronin'. On the upside, that means we can add our own music (any editing program will do). Like maybe the "Andore Cage Fight" theme from the arcade version of Final Fight. Or maybe something from Half-Life, Borderlands, or the original Doom.
How Ripley didnt age? Cryo Sleep. Those chambers basically freeze the body in a sleep like state so they dont age. It allows crews to travel in space and not die of old age.
James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd are also the production/writing team that did "The Terminator" (1984). Like Ridley Scott's "Alien" it is a horror/suspense movie with sci-fi elements rather than just a sci-fi movie. Michael Biehn (Hicks), Bill Paxton (Hudson), and Lance Hendrickson (Bishop) are all in it too.
It was mentioned in this version that there are Families in the colony and there is an extended version that goes into more details as to who Newt is! Love your reactions so much!! Best wishes always!! 🙂❤
The Underwaterflowers director's cut of Aliens:
Ripley - "That planet is full of hostile Aliens and you need to nuke the hell out of it!"
Officials - "We better listen to Ripley - nuke that planet right now."

This and Terminator 2 are considered some of the best sequels ever made!
At the beginning of this movie, at the end of the review/hearing scene where Ripley was suspended, one of the company executives says that there is a terraforming colony on the planet with "60 or 70 families". Newt is the child of one of those families. The extended version has a scene in the colony before the aliens are discovered that shows lots of children playing in the hallways.
I'd say watch the movie and listen to the dialog instead of trying to be funny and there wouldn't be any plot holes.
Newt was with the rest of the group because you DON'T LEAVE A GIRL BY HERSELF after you find her!!!
Oh, look. We found Newt. OK. Now put her back in that hiding place and abandon her.
What???
It was obvious that they would keep her with them, wherever they'd go. it would be ridiculous to leave her alone with no adult, even. So, take her with them. She'd be best protect then. Yes?! Makes sense?!
I'm surprised at your confusion at Newt's presence. Even in the theatrical version an official at Ripley's hearing told her that there were at least 60 families on LV416.
Alternate movie title, "Aliens: Listen to Ripley!"
And yes the xenomorphs are cute (a bit biased as HR Giger, who did the original design, is one of my fave artists ever).
The reason Ripley agreed to help was because there were families lost on that planet's facility. She's a family woman. She just found out she lost her daughter not long before this decision. And, she finds a little girl that is practically a replacement daughter for her when she gets there. She's a good person. If it were a military base full of men that could normally handle themselves, then she wouldn't have an issue not going, but these are unarmed civilians with children aboard a pretty much unknown planet. They're the ones terraforming it to be livable. No one told them what was down there. They thought they were safe. Ripley's going to take those aliens out for the memories of those poor innocent lives that were lost.
Bill Paxton(Private Hudson) convincingly plays a sergeant in "The Edge Of Tomorrow."
There was about 60-70 families living there terraforming the moon. 158~ people. 155 aliens. 2 live facehugers, both hosts died during surgery
Can Everyone In **ALIENS** Just Listen To Ripley? PLEASE??
Best video title for an _Aliens_ reaction ever!
I remember watching this long ago, and there was footage of a space colony in the beginning. But maybe that was the director's cut.
Oh, and I wanted to mention, you have the coolest intro of any reaction channel by far.
Three of the ALIENS actors: Bishop (Lance Henriksen), Hudson (Bill Paxton) & Vasquez (Jenette Goldstein) then went ahead and starred in one of the more unique vampire flicks from the late 80s: NEAR DARK (1987). Highly recommend it. All three are nomadic bloodsuckers wreaking bloody havoc in the Midwest. Paxton steals the show as Severin. Movie's highlight is the roadhouse they decimate late one night.
While many people do consider this one better than the original, I’m not one of them. I think the main thing is that these movies are two different genres. The original is an atmospheric, horror movie/slasher movie. This one is more of an action/military movie. I just prefer horror to action in general and that’s why I lean towards the original. This is still really great though.
I dont like it when reactors dont show up for their premieres
Since you like the giant robot being used by Ripley against the Xenomorph queen, you would love Pacific Rim.
Normally I enjoy your comments and reactions, but this time I'm left wondering if you actually watched the movie or just fast forwarded through it. Ripley went back because the nightmares were wrecking her. She needed to face her fear. Newt was on that planet with her family and many others. those people were there to build machines that make the planet habitable for humans. Ripley and her original crew were basically space truckers. this time she was with Marines...who have seen alien life before. The reason no one took her seriously is because people had been on that planet for 20 years with no signs of the alien lifeform.
The Marines that were with Ripley on the *moon* had never seen alien life before. The company and *some* of the colonists were aware of the xenomorph hence they were in test tubes in a colony facility. They were "not believing" Ripley to keep their experimentations under wraps. In this universe, the derelict ship and the xenomorphs are humanity's first encounter with alien life and it was covered up with only a select few being made aware of these things.
You missed it.
At the hearing about what happened on the Nostromo.
Around the 7 minute mark of your video where your are giving your critique of the company not believing in aliens Is where this conversation between Ripley and the corporate goon takes place.
The company exec clearly told Ripley that there was 20 some FAMILIES of workers at the facility and they never complained about some hostile alien life form.
*from the extended edition*
Newt knew her way around the air ducts so well because she used they to play hide and seek with the other kids at the station. (winning most of the time)
60-70 families :)
Probably the first to comment this but LV426 is a space colony consisting of families of men, women, and children, Newt was one of those children
Also consider that the deaths in the first movie resulted from the company's heartless directive to Ash. That would have been covered up. Even if current company executives knew about it they wouldn't have admitted it.🎉
8:42 actually a Japanese anime movie actually did something like that it's totally similar to Ridley Scott's alien and John Carpenter's The thing called Lily C.A.T.
Perfect reaction to this sci fi masterpiece of a sequel.
What’s better than one alien? MULTIPLE aliens
Aliens vs Predator 2: Requiem is set on Earth. The upcoming Hulu Aliens series is a prequel set on Earth (for Season one at least). However, "Predator" and "Blade Runner" are in the same universe and they have installments on Earth like "Prey".
lol "Ay-lee-onn" grew on me

What about Nightmare on Elm Streets, like every single Elm street has Freddy shenanigans going on
Nice reactions to the Alien sequel, Kiddo!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽They do say near the beginning of the film that there are 50-60 families on the planet. They are there because they are colonists. In the directors cut there is more character building of Newt and Ripley. Your feeling that why is Newt there is explained more in the cut as well with the deleted scenes. You have to remember that this film is 36 years old. The pacing for films was different bsck then. We are more impatient nowadays and want everything quickly. This is normally reflected with TV and film, as well.
Great film! The reason why Ripley is a girl boss isn't cos she simply beats the alien queen, it's because she does it this while showing qualities of beauty, femininity and motherly instincts. You can't be brave without being vulnerable! And Ripley is both.
This was painful to watch. She isn't paying attention to the story then asks questions that have already been answered. I made it half way then gave up. No substance.
Good show there ma'am. Newt was a colonist there the directors cut shows more of the colony life there families kids the whole nine 😆. Keep up the terrific work 👌 👏 👍 😀
First person heard saying that this movie Aliens is slow paced haha.... i mean its action packed from almost start to finish... the first alien movie is 10 time slower in pace than this one...
Holy!!!!! Your reactions are always so much fun and make me laugh, thank you!!!
🙂🙂🙂
You’re going to lose viewers if you don’t take the films seriously, instead of acting like you’re at a 10 year old’s birthday party. You don’t sound like you’re listening to anything going on and are blurting out random comments like someone who’s wasted. I didn’t get past the first 11 minutes before shutting it off. This is my first time here and I won’t be back. Sorry to be mean, but you need to get your act together before you ruin your channel.
They do explain why the little girl is there. At the beginning of the movie in the meeting with the company people they say there have been people there for years. When Ripley asks how many people the guy clearly says "I don't know 60 maybe 70 families and they never complained about any hostile organisms." I think you need to focus more on the movie and less on talking to the camera.
true but , as I remember it ,the ' directors cut' or whatever had extended film about the families that apparently isn't here - original ' Aliens' version ... ?
@@rickc661 That dialog is in the cinematic cut as well. What is missing are a few short scenes from the colony. Showing, among other things, a few kids playing in the corridors and being told off for playing in the vents (explaining how Newt knows the layout of the vents so well) and Newts family discovering the alien ship from the first movie, bringing the face hugger to the actual colony.
They replaced the cat side kick with a little girl :)
Great movie actually best aliens movie.
I still hold hope that a reviewer actually considers reviewing Alien 3 assembly cut after 1 and 2 but usually it does not happen… I think it is a fitting 3rd part although I know I am in the minority with that opinion.
Ye I know, they all get told to not watch Alien 3 but Teamamba didnt listen, I cant remember which cut she watched though.
And Im pretty sure she's going to watch the final 4th one aswell, at least I encouraged her! 🙂
Considering all the problems the third film had, it's amazing it is as good as it is. But I do understand the vitriol it gets.
3 is a far better film than many realise, and Resurrection is a stunning looking film. But yeah, too many reactors listen to the people who equate not liking a film to it being a bad film.
The Abysss!
Newt is in the story because Ripley lost her daughter and Newt lost her mom
Will we be expecting a reaction to a Peter Jackson zombie flick called Dead Alive aka Braindead?
Don't miss "The Blair Witch Project" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Both unique culture milestones when they were released.
But "The Blair Witch Project" (1999) was a Fakeumentary/"found footage" crap movie.;)
Any chance you’ll react to The Terminator, also directed by James Cameron?
Thanks for making a video for the sequel to alien
yall yall
Debiste ver la versión extendida
Ya, I like the original better but # 2 is real good. I think ' Prometheus' is pretty good , some folks don't. it's kinda the actual start of the 'Alien story. the rest, ummm
Why does she enunciate as if shes trying to explain internet to her grandma?
I can't hear your voice. You need to turn up your microphone.
"42:05 they very slow paced". Thank god you didn´t watch the director´s cut 😅 I think you are more into pure horror movies and Aliens is more of a sci-fi action movie with less horror than the first one.
This is literally the first time I've ever heard ANYONE describe Aliens as "slowly paced". lol
@@Pixelologist To be fair, the first half is kinda slow, especially in the director´s cut. It´s just that the mindblowing masterpiece of a second half make you forget about first half.
Star Warss?
The Company is nothing like NASA.
Alion
Can u watch the chucky season 2 official trailer
(1) Ripley didn't age at the beginning because of relativity- her space capsule was moving at a different speed and experiencing time differently. (2) James Cameron made this entire movie as a metaphor for the Vietnam war- with the technologically superior space marines getting overwhelmed by the guerilla tactics of the xenomorphs. (3) Yes, there is a Xenomorph plushy available on Amazon, roughly $35.00 USD.
Ripley was in an escape ship, not her main ship which was destroyed, and not necessarily moving at a speed near that of light, but even if she was, the main reason she didn't age is that she was in suspended animation.
I prefer Alien. Masterpiece.
Why is she "In" because without her being in there would be no movie!! No romance? That is a major theme running through the movie. You did miss out the line from Hicks "It doesn't mean we are engaged or anything" You missed the best line of the movie whane Newt hugs Ripley at the end and says "Mummy"
The TikTok generation just can't handle deliberately paced movies. if shit ain't popping off within ten seconds their boiler hit the red
Exactly, they want instant gratification.
I know a bunch a people have mentioned the fact that there were 70 families in the colony, that the company mentioned that back on earth, but, James Cameron, the director, agreed with you that Knut's presence was a little confusing. In the directors cut there is an additional couple a scenes that shows Knut and her family finding the original alien ship on the planet and it shows her father with a face sucker on him. That version is much more clear as to why Knut is there when Ripley and the marines shows up.
James Cameron ;)
@@HistoritorJimaldus Right you are, thanks!
We all perverts were waiting for this...😎 Well, in a good wsy. How does that turn right way...no idea....sorry, stupid joke, yes, im bored within..☹️
The Newt part of it wasn't really explained well unless you watch the special edition. That explains that the planet they go to has colonies of people living there. And you actually see that Newt's family gets killed. Well, at least the Dad. He was killed by a face hugger. Then she says later on when explaining to Ripley that her family was killed by them. But yeah, when you watch the shorter theatrical version, it's kind of confusing..
Third Officer Ripley has returned to Earth with a Xenomorph-size case of PTSD. What will The Suits of Weyland-Yutani make of her blowing up the "Nostromo"? You missed Van Luwen talking about 50-60 FAMILIES on LV-426. 9:42 One of the best "Burn!" lines. 11:05 The Colonial Marines are on a Bug Hunt, but THEY are The Bugs! 12:10 BigHuge Construction Co.: "Where can we buy 'Ripley's Loader'? Movie prop? Oh well, thanks." 15:50 I wondered how Ripley was able to "get close, quickly" to a traumatized Rebecca. A reviewer in 1986 said: "Sisterhood!" I didn't think so, and bought the Special Edition Laserdisc(!) and found out how Ripley and Newt were connecting. 17:24 Disarming the troops always disturbed me. 20:10 Ripley is always about The Team. 22:30 The "nose art" on the Drop Ship says: "Colonial Marines: We Endanger Species!" 25:57 www.dictionary.com/browse/cross-my-heart-and-hope-to-die 27:47 Manual of arms. 32:47 Admirable, they went out like Klingon warriors. 33:47 The Special Edition of "Aliens" will answer most of your questions. 34:22 The right tool for the job, made with Duck tape. 36:00 The Egg Chamber. 39:09 It's not over. 41:42 If you listen carefully atfer the credit crawl, you will hear a "wet, squishy sound" moving from left to right. Ripley's journey isn't over yet.
There's an old meme of a couple watching a film, she is exasperated looking, the caption reads, " wife unaware that her questions will be answered if she just watches the movie"........
Kind of ironic that the video title is listen to Ripley, when she repeats the word, " families" at the tribunal.
I recommend watching the Directors Cut, it will lay it all out for you.
Almost everyone misunderstands Hudson, but the film doesn't do a good job with him or the rest of the squad, unless you dig into Alien lore a little. Hudson's life long dream is to own a bar, as he would be able to live in luxury for the rest of his life from the profits, to do this he signed up for ten years to the Marines. He's been saving his wages the whole time. We hear him say he is four weeks from the end of his service, so he's literally watching his dream slide down the drain,...he isnt incompetent, he's survived in a top squad for ten years, he's just overwhelmed.
He's overwhelmed because, despite the squad being very experienced in alien encounters, they have never faced a threat as dangerous as this. This is only hinted at in the movie during the briefing, when they talk about, " another bug hunt"
Vasquez is another one that becomes a bit clearer if you dig into Alien lore. She reacts differently to the others over Drake's death because Drake is her oldest friend, she's known him most of her life. They met in prison, signed up to the Marines together, went through training together, got assigned to the same squad together.
Fun fact, on the shots of her body cam, sometimes her initial disappears. She's the only one it happens to, everyone else's name is displayed as surname then initial.
They used a little Girl instead of a cat for an emotional bond for Ripley.. and because there was too much Backlash about "putting an animal in Danger".
Engineer Asst. Brett: "Right." (Nope.;)
Many of the questions are answered in the special edition, which restores deleted scenes that created plot holes.
There are a lot of unanswered questions that could be answered my watching the director’s cut.
What are you? 10 years old? You scream and wail in laughter LOUDER than The movie. When the thing busts out of the cocooned lady you went "Yiii! He's so cute!" And what's with your mispronunciation of alien? It's not clever...it's annoying. I'm done with your channel
It is refreshing to have a reviewer go against the grain and simply say: it’s ok , not my favorite. I disagree but nothing can be for everyone 😌
To which I add: She should see a nice, safe movie, like "Train To Busan" (2016).
