She passed away recently, I think, she suffered from dementia. Lara wrote a song called L'oubli and that's the only one I enjoy watching in the official version instead o live. All the people participating in that video are her mom's family.
The last note is 21s with modulation up and beautiful final decrescendo 😱
Lara wrote the beautiful lyrics of this song when she fell in love with Walter Afanassiev, and they both co-composed the music.
Walter Afanassiev, an american/brazilian from russian descent, is a legendary composer and producer (he composed some of the greatest initial hits of Mariah Carey such as All I Want for Christmas is You and was the producer of the Titanic soundtrack that brought Celine Dion to WW fame). He is also now the producer of Dimash for his US career.
Later he apparently cheated, Lara broke and wrote the lyrics of another masterpiece: Broken Vow. This other song uas been covered by Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Morissette Amon, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan, Regine Velasquez, Almira (4th Impact), Rimar, Craig Harrison, Jackie Evancho , …

It’s was March 2022 when a friend sent me the “From Lara With Love” concert as a BD gift. Probably the best gift ever…it gives me so much joy knowing I, like you two, live in the era she is still performing. Since then, I have listened to most of her music concerts on UA-cam. She is an incredible artist, then to learn she is a unique human being just makes me glad to be alive. ❤❤❤

She had great musicians at that time. The guitarist was playing later on with a massive star in France - with Johnny Hallyday (his live performances were great btw)
And johnny knew about guitarists: he is the one that gave his first chance to perform in concert to Jimi Hendrix

Isn’t she wonderful? She does a song in Spanish called “Llora” that she wrote for a woman who lost her life to domestic abuse. The link is for a concert performance of it,but she actually made a video about it,and the pictures flashed in the background are from that video. IT’s graphic,and very difficult to watch,which is why I am suggesting her live performance instead. This link includes the English translation. And let's be real, while Diana Ankudinova has THAT voice she is still growing as a singer and performer, while Lara is mature and technically flawless. Some will corect me if i'm wrong... This tv special was recorded to get Lara on the US market, she was signed by Sony, (almost 30yrs ago) at that time an other youg female was coming to the US market and her manager deal with Sony to NOT push on Lara coz she would take to much place and his youg artist would have to much competition... the other youg lady was Céline Dion. The manager was René Angelil and his bet with Sony have been respected, Lara didn't get the promo she deserved, didn't make the big top chart and left the US, came back to Canada and from their went for Europe. She manage to make her way, sold out many world tour but had to fight for it. That is part of the reason why she's always ready to help youg artist and give them the push she didn't have. I Love Céline and I Love Lara, being from Québec they were both on my daily play list and went to see them both on show. A manager thing, nothing from Céline herself, even if she never accepted to sing with Lara who would love to sing with her.
