My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first UA-cam channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!
Just a note to those with sugar gliders, brocolli should be fed sparingly as it can make the gliders gassy.
Your red-eared slider needs a place (perch) or flat rock that is “completely dry”… to bask in the sunlight, so the UV-B rays can maintain the calcium balance. Also, UV-B is needed to produce Vit D (which they will die without). UV-A is needed for metabolism and mood.🐢☀️💕
Enrique chose the right people to take care of his beloved pets. Thank you for adopting these animals. People should love more animals and nature for generations to see.

A Red Eared Slider is a land and aquatic turtle. I just have a suggestion since I have a Red Eared Slider. He needs an entirely stable basking spot that is easily accessible to him. So that he can thoroughly soak up the sun's rays and have a resting spot to ensure his shell can get completely dry and so he won't develop shell rot. I would suggest some research, youtube videos, and or Pinterest boards to see proper basking areas as it's essential to your turtle thriving and living a healthy life.
Also, If you want to… I would love to see you feed him super worms. Lol my turtle goes nuts when I give him mealworms and super worms as an occasional treat lol it's so cute
I think you might have to make an "island" in the water with rocks that the turtle can crawl up and out of the water, and bask in the sun.

@@MikeyBustosVLOGSmaybe you can use the big cement blocks from the side lot temporarily and lean them on the side of the pond for the turtle to perch. Not big enough to reach the top tho…
The turtle will die in a week without a place to rest and bask
I had 3 red sliders from Toronto. They were little tiny ones and lived with me for about 20 years and they are now in a sanctuary in Odessa Florida 🐢🐢🐢 . They do need to come up on rocks to get some sun 🌞

i think you should just keep their original names so that when Enrique comes to visit, he'll still be able to call them and bond with them.

I first knew about sugar gliders because BTS Jin had them as pets before. I laughed when you revealed Suga as the name. It is BTS related. 😆

well they used to be enrique gil's and liza soberano is very much an army so it kinda makes sense why it's named suga lmao
I've been keeping a Red-eared Slider since 4th grade myself that is still with me today, and according to my observations on her behavior and backed up by articles online, Red-eared Sliders become more herbivorous as they age, so Donatello might choose to ignore the guppies and tadpoles in the pond in favor of aquatic plants. I actually tried putting some feeder guppies in the pond she is living in now some time ago to help in mosquito control and as a supplemental food source; she only chased then around a bit when I added them to the pond before she might have decided that trying hunt them is more trouble than it is worth so she ignored them, although she might eat any that are too slow. The guppies reproduced so much in that pond that eventually their population started to collapse.
It might be more beneficial for the turtles to have larger basking spots in the form of large rocks and logs that jut out of the water for the turtles as that is what they usually do in the wild where a particular favorable spot would host several at once with some stacking up on each other haha. Also, I don't think Red-eared Sliders will eat terrestrial plants as they, as well as most aquatic turtles, cannot swallow food when they are on land; they don't eat when outside the water. I tried offering a piece of Macopa to mine before when she was on land and when she bit into it, she had to go to the water first so she can swallow it. Semi-aquatic turtles like the Amboina Box Turtle, which I also have, can eat while on land though.

I'm really happy for all the pets you're getting!!! For the fruit talk yes the source of the origin of the fruit really makes a difference although it's a very touchy talk because I used to work and the food industry and shipping overseas would say different. 👍🏻😷👍🏿🇨🇦🇵🇭🇺🇲

You need to get a giant boulder and put it in the middle or edge so your new turtle could sunbathe once in a while or just rest. But he is so cute

hiya mikey! i don't think you mentioned it in the vlog but are you planning to get proper land for the red eared slider? im sure you know that he and the future female need solid land to get on top and bask happily for hours in that beautiful outdoor sun :D solid land to dig into is especially important for the future female to prevent egg-binding!!!

@@majaraneepaula Real talk yan. Ang tao kapag tinulungan mo, 50/50 chance saksakin ka pa sa likod. Meron din naman sasamantalahin kabaitan mo.
The wood is quite small. The turtle might have a hard time getting on it without it floating away or flipping over. It also might soak up water quicker and sink quicker 👍🏽
Suga's partner should be called HONEY. 😅😅😅

Hi guys, I hope RJ is feeling better by now. The new pets are so exciting. I was reading about the red eared slider turtles. It said they need a solid place to climb up on and bask. This is especially true if the water is so deep that they cannot put their feet on the bottom and reach their necks out above to breathe. Maybe you could get a pile of rocks away from the edge of the pond so he can get out of the water and rest sometimes. Thank you for giving these critters a home. Gloria 🐂
I think maybe building a little island within the pond might be a good feature to add for your turtle.

Hi Mikey, we've been watching your vlogs for quite a while now. We were happy that you also have SG now. While feeding the SG you could use a clicker just like when you fed your parrots. They get used to sounds, so that every time you'll feed them they will come out in their pouch. You could also hang the water bottle outside the cage and just allow the straw part inside so they could drink. This is to prevent the SG from destroying the bottle. It is very enjoyable watching them. When you also trained them it is so amazing. They will glide to you. And just watching them eat really is fascinating. I hope you find this helpful. If you are planning to rename your three new pets, I’m going to suggest for the Sugar Slider to be named as “Starry Night”, since it’s nocturnal and I think it’s a cute name. 😊
For the cutest blue iguana, I’d like to suggest the name as “Americaine” or “ Blueseal” only because of his color and eye color, it reminds me of an American person or a blond American person. No pun intended of course!
As for the baby turtle, my suggestion would be “Sprite” or “Jenny”. 😊❤

Turtle needs some 'land' also, not just a little piece of wood so he can bask in the sun. Hopefully you can build him a small island!

Your turtle is really cute and maybe in the pond have a island or a big rocks so the turtle can lay on it and not swimming all the time. Turtles do like too swim a lot and lay on things a lot too… all of the animals you have a really awesome. Specially billy the goat…🐐🐢🦎🦜❤❤❤❤❤

Turtle will need something a little more stable to be able to climb out on to to be able to bask, that piece of wood is not going to be enough.

You should take some of that busted up concrete from the farm area and put into pond on sunny side to bask,that wood will eventually sink.

The wooden log will eventually sink once it becomes water logged. Maybe look into getting a nice sized tree trunk or branch so it has the ability to climb on it, and they also like making their safe space on land around plants

I feel ya Mikey! If I had no control, my house would look like Noah's ark. But you can only realistically care for so many. I LOVE you and RJ's new place!!! Oh, we call those "June bugs" over here. Ours don't have pretty markings. YES! Teach me the ways of mangosteen! I've seen them in specialty shops! You're right, by the time fresh fruit is shipped from so far away they are likely less fresh. I've had mangos picked off the tree, and they were NEVER surpassed with any I've purchased in a store since. I LOVE the aviary!!!! That is the most peaceful, spacious house I've ever seen, and I'd love to have an aviary. That iguana looks chill, but he def needs a bigger space. Wow, that's a....selection of pets!
Now you almost have unlimited source material for your vids. Taking care of different animals will definitely keep you healthy mentally and of course physically as well. ✌️

Green eared turtles are sliders because they usually rest on top of a rock in the middle or side of the water and when they sense danger they just slide in the water. They can drown when they are not able to get up and breathe and that happens when you place them in knee high water without any rock to climb on because they can get tired of paddling up to get air and will just drown and die. Remember they don't have fins so they struggle to swim up. I suggest you put 2 rock structures (left and right) in the middle of the pond were they can climb up. Floating pad is not very stable.
Mabuhay! just so you know, the peel of the mangosteen..you can sun dry the inside part of it (with screen cover of course) then you can scrape it out and put it in a tea diffuser/bag and that is a good anti-oxidant. Also, some other benefits like for upset stomachs, skin inflammation and cure wounds for animals. More power to you guys! I have your video/s continously -playing loud in the house like music, i love your positive outlook! (It drives my ALEXA crazy tho, whenever you call for "her").

I have a friend that has 2 sugar gliders. Cool animals and they absolutely love my friend. Probably was so scared. Same w the iguana, was probably terrified.....but so beautiful.

The piece of wood you threw in might be hard for the red eared slider to climb on, I recommend you throw in a large, non-floating perch, that sticks above the water’s surface (ex: large extended tree branch, or large rock)

WOW!! New pets!! Very cool!! That Sugar Glider is very intriguing. It makes sense knowing that you’ve got a lot of experience with them so, I’m excited to see them thrive there on the farm. His eyes are so huge. I seem to recall that RJ wanted to have one of these… You can see so much expression in those eyes. It seems he’s warming up to you pretty quickly. What a fascinating pet. Yea, you won him over with that food, he’ll be your best buddy pretty quickly. I’d love it if you had a 24/7 stream of his home, especially since he’s nocturnal. That way we (and you) could see what he’s up to at night. He looks like a Sheldon or Shamus Sugar Glider, LOL.
That Blue Iguana is really stunning to look at. It’s lucky that you could take him in. I’m excited to see RJ’s reaction to the turtle, I know he’s wanted a turtle for a while.

So, is it a Cartimar trip on Sunday? I kinda hope so, we haven’t done one of those in a while. You have so much room there, you could get a 20’ x 6’ cage, maybe even bigger and he’d be able to fly… He looks like he really wants to be friends, he’s just not sure yet. What will Cypher and Sahara think of him, LOL. I’m thinking that Cypher will have “something” say if RJ starts wearing Suga around his neck… LOL.

I'm so glad you took those animals in! They will be much better off with you! That wood will eventually sink. You may want to make a separate permanent dry basking areas in the shade and the sun. The iguana is stunning!
