Loved the way you stayed well away and watched those boys on their bikes from a safe distance, filming all the time. Just a shame the Tiger was not as hungry as expected, or this could have been really gory.
Though this video is shot very well compared to many other such videos in India, but the behavior of those visitors in jeeps is very stupid. The tiger will be at your throat in a flash....and it is fortunate it didn't happen this time. Yet, can't stop admiring the guts of those motorists! Kudos to them!
This is a sere example of unregulated tourism in the tiger habitat. Bikes are strictly not allowed to ply in all national parks or tiger reserves as we see how bikers were exposed themselves to the mercy of roaming tiger that could easily attacked on them without giving any alarm. Tadoba park management should stop this type of unregulated tourism to avoid man-animal conflicts.
that is a road to a village inside the reserve. so the locals were on bikes. there is no danger from the tiger unless they did something to unnerve it. many tiger reserves have villages in them.

Satish Shah sir.. what you saw in the video is very common thing. This action has happened in buffer zone of Tadoba Tiger Reserve. Buffer zone of any tiger reserve a has some population of indigenous people still living off the land. These people know animal behaviour like the back of their hands. That is why you saw the bikers were far more relaxed and remained still indicating the animal that it has no threat from them. Sure enough the animal reciprocated. Outsiders are not allowed in these buffer zones, neither on foot nor on unregistered vehicles. Those bikers are local tribals from Tadoba region. They did exactly what one is expected to do in an tiger encounter. Chances of that frightened lady on jeep disturbing the tigress were far more with her yelling! And Yeah.. tribals don't have to go around naked and dancing like it is portrayed in Bollywood films!

Best place for tiger sighting...Tadoba is 100 km from Nagpur and over populated with tigers that forced forest department to shift lot of them to other locations to avoid conflict within themselves.

There's a video on UA-cam where a jeep has to accelerate away FAST when a tiger they are observing suddenly runs at it. What if the tiger had approached a vehicle from the front? The jeep wouldn't be able to accelerate away at speed in reverse! And certainly not if there were two or three jeeps behind it, as is so often the case when there is a sighting, and the vehicles gather.
People going on a safari should be familiarised with the Do’s & Dont’s beforehand . They should also be mandatorily informed that their chances of returning , safe and sound, largely depends on their ability to keep their mouth shut,maintaining complete silence during the sightings.

There are people who actually do ! We were shocked to see at Bandipur forest reserve in South India, right in the middle of the road two guys repairing a bike that broke down at about 9 pm in the night - using a mobile torch !! When we stopped our car to ask if they needed any help, they said no thanks...we travel for work on these roads everyday !! And just after we moved about 50 feet, we saw a govt. notice board that read "Tiger movement zone : Beware". Felt very scary.

That was really close. Good presence of mind by the bikers. They did not get down from the bike and kept eye contact at all times. Since they didnt flee the tigers attack instinct were kept at bay. Great teamwork by the men in the Vehicle. Lucky Guys to say the least.

+Vinay Joshi, All safari jeeps are open top in India. Tigers don't usually see people sitting in the Jeep as prey. They are perceived as one big unit.

Does noone here find it strange that there are people riding bikes in a protected wildlife reserve! The only way to get into the reserves is by safaris run by the forest department! And it is so stupid to see men sitting triple seat .......taking a video.....with a tiger around him! This is so ridiculous!

There are people who actually do ! We were shocked to see at Bandipur forest reserve in South India, right in the middle of the road two guys repairing a bike that broke down at about 9 pm in the night - using a mobile torch !! When we stopped our car to ask if they needed any help, they said no thanks...we travel for work on these roads everyday !! And just after we moved about 50 feet, we saw a govt. notice board that read "Tiger movement zone : Beware". Felt very scary.

That was really close. Good presence of mind by the bikers. They did not get down from the bike and kept eye contact at all times. Since they didnt flee the tigers attack instinct were kept at bay. Great teamwork by the men in the Vehicle. Lucky Guys to say the least.
