    Great shave and great catch! I admit that I get mesmerized by that Jnat feel. I used to pay the most attention to the tomo step, but the magic of the Chu/Koma combination changed all that.

      Thanks Greg. I have not uses anything but Chu/Koma/ Nakayama Tomo since I got my Chu. I really like that progression

    Cool comparison Eric! I always like when people compare 2 different edges from 2 different stones👍🏼 good catch with the phone slide 🤙🏼lol
    And thanks for the shout out brother!! I’ll have to try that soap/splash combo! Don’t work too hard and be safe out there!!

    That soap and splash combo is excellent! They really compliment each other nicely. Headed to the slopes next week! ⛷️⛷️

      I love any woods scent but I am a such a fan boy of that Pine smell. The menthol and pine , I wouldn’t have thought as a pairing but man it’s so good. Black Diamond has become my favorite, great job with that one Joe.

      Experimenting with fragrances is one of the best parts of soap making.

    Ouch! You dropped us on our heads brother, good choice not editing that out haha good reflexes! Both razors seemed very good shavers, sometimes the size can throw you off it it ain’t what you prefer. No idea what you did but I’m telling you, you is looking younger!

      @@Eric_TheCajunBlade I did a test one, just with honing. The next one I hope will turn out better. But it is all learning. Cheers

    Hi Eric. I also like woodsy scents. And I don't like smallish razors for some reason either. They do shave but 😀 I don't know. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the holiday season

    Another great video Eric. Like you, I've gravitated toward wider blades - nothing under 5/8 feels comfortable and I prefer 6/8 or wider. I have two ERN 525 razors, one is right at 5/8 and the other is 11/16. Believe it or not, I can feel the 1/16" difference.

    • @Eric_TheCajunBlade
      @Eric_TheCajunBlade  21 день тому +1

      Yea, a 6/8 is the most natural for my stroke. I do enjoy my 7/8 snd 8/8, but can’t do them big choppers.

      @Eric_TheCajunBlade me too, but not in great shape.. not more than 4/8th, so rather thin for even me.. and scales are shifted to bog-oak (think that what it's called)..don't remember why I got it actually, not one of my better finds..🤪

    Another great one Eric. Those Heljestrand razors take an amazing edge. In my experience you just have to spend almost twice the amount of time on the stone compared to a typical Solingen razor to get a good edge.

      Also look at Erik Anton Berg razors and other manufacturers from Eskilstuna Sweden. 👍

      They do take a bit more work for sure. But they hold an edge.
