The video sequence of bringing the cows in towards the end of this video is my #1 drone video on your channel. Maybe you’ll find a way to use it again or create a similar one each year. It’s brilliant.
Adrian its nice to see the next generation like you having some old school values like looking after there tools of there trade an land and livestock first. You young man are the future of farming its nice to see a young farmer ahead of his time at such a young age. Well done and keep it up
Just a tip for the round bales with mould, if you can open them the night before or early in the morning gives them a chance to breath and for air to circulate through them before you feed them , worked for us a treat, and as always farm so tidy and you inspire me to never give up on my dream of having my own dairy farm some day , albeit an organic dairy farm
Hello Adrian really enjoy your farming videos as they say a place for everything and everything in its place you tell it how it is good and disapointments keep up the good work we milk 120 ayrshires in warwickshire we are now the only herd of ayrshires left in warwickshire regards Andrew Hall.
Hi Adrian, love the channel , I've watched 30 vids love all the content. I grew up on small beef farm, county down , learned to drive on same fergie. Harry's farm just up the road. My dad's farm, always had issues, I thought he could fix anything, for someone else , but couldn't plan, complete one of his jobs. Sadly he drove me away from farm, as he had anger issues towards me. Luckily the dairy farms around , would always need help, so I learned well. I got on the farmers ticket to University, left Ireland . I love seeing the great countryside And don't need any subtitles. I love the Massey, drove a 600hp one in Australia for seeding wheat and lupins.
The scraper is a great machine and fits into your system well , would not be suitable for every dairy set up I would say but very cost effective over the years going by what you've stated on the video and you are not doing any damage to your slats that might be happening with a tractor scraper set up or suffering jams/breakages with an automated set up.
Watching you with the Hay on the back of your Tractor reminded Me of Myself on a Massey Ferguson Tractor, on a Family Farm (just outside Cappoquin Co. Waterford) when I was 7 or 8 fetching Stooks of Hay from the lower field and carrying them on the Tynes on the rear of the Tractor, up to the Hay Shed in the Haggard Yard, just below the Farmhouse. Myself on one and My 1st cousin Shom (same age as Me) on the other.
I am consistently impressed with how tidy your farm is. It is really important too, as a tidy farm is a safer farm. Not to mention more efficient also!
Nice work Adrian, cleaning the dung is the less glamorous side of the thing but it has to be done, great to see 37 back to her best again, I thought she wasn't going to recover but those antibiotics done the trick plus the yogurt!!
Great video Adrian, lovely to see the wee calf make a full recovery. The cows were looking forward to coming in judging by their skipping to the shed. Nicole did a great job as camera lady 👏
Brilliant vedio 👍, I does rool the plastic into 2ft&2ft square leave on ground & rool with Wheel of Tractor gets rid of water+Air sounds like extra work but it's not really, just a idea you probably Will say I'm mad ☺️
I feel such a need to see each and every bit of your farm and land. It is so beautiful and brings me peace to watch. Thank you for sharing all that you do. Always happy to see your new posts!
I am surprised you haven't a head rail on the cubicles Adrian, it keeps the mats much cleaner and just a dust of lime. Great video as always, fair play to Nicole. Good luck to you and your wife in the coming weeks.
What a beautiful county Cavan is. Those rolling fields look great. I had the pleasure of a long weekend in Cavan town recently and visited the Burren Geopark and Killykeen forest park. Really enjoyable.
Adrian I have to say it’s absolutely deadly to hear a cavan accent on UA-cam!! Apart from you’re honesty you make great videos, all the way from new York you know how to make me home sick !!! Virginia man .keep up the great work lad .
You have to admit you do love it when the cows are in 😉 great video and that's a nice wee quite engine👍 I like the reuse of the bale wrap 👏 stay safe 🏴
I’ll address the straight pipe it the next video as loads of people are asking, with the plastic, we’re 25 bales into it now and are pushing it down with the loader. That’s with 22 laps on each. Should get a good few more into it.
Not sure if you do it differently for the camera, but if you are dropping the bales in the yard, cutting the black plastic so it drops off when picking them up, ideally close to the bin, with the splitter would save dropping them again in the passage. Won’t save loads of time but every little…
@@tangofoxtrot4603do you know anything about how tyres are recycled? If you did you would have not used the term " non starter" which implies tyres are not recycled! Please educate yourself on how tyres are recycled you may find out they remove the wire or use the side walls which have no wire 👍
Its vital that we retain small family farms with highly knowledgeable hands-on farmers like Adrian and his family. Moving to consolidated, highly mechanised, super farms is a bad thing in so many ways - and worse than any profit gains. If only the government in Britain could see that, as they seem hell bent on closing down food production in Britain and want us to import everything from around the world, in a sort of rehash of arms-length neo-colonialism?
I didn’t think about that I don’t have one myself but I heard there good for cattle and considering your a dairy farmer I thought it might be idele for you
And put a few car tyres on slats a good job too. Messy but works. Take them away when they are lying on cubicles. They wont find a good spot to lie on slats with a heap of tyres scattered about.
More warp on the ends and if you not double or triple stack less space taken up more protection agaist a hole if you up end on a stone of any thing might puncture them

Great video Adrian 1 tidy well run outfit
Hello
Make film with drone of the cows next to the parlor and milk process
is the white paint on the wrap to keep the birds off?
Hi Adrian, why is the stainless steel exhaust off the case ?
What happened the straight pipe on the case
Great idea recycling the old tyre for mats. Is there a better system for the hay without all that plastic waste?
You can make silage in a clamp/pit with less plastic. I think Adrian hasn't the room to make all his silage in a clamp.
Surely the wire in tyres makes it a non starter.
@@tangofoxtrot4603 tyres are recycled all the time.
@@PA-ek3ul Yes they are i did not say otherwise, but not in the construction of Cow mats, Would u want cows lying on mats with bits of wire in it ?

Adrian would u ever think about buying a diet feeder
The VDW one grassmen tested out would sit you perfectly and you could get more out of your cows with a balanced ration
I wouldn’t rule it out, yard space might be an issue

Great video any tips for calved heffers that won't lie in cubicles
Put a holster on there head and tie them up, we done with one last year and after 3 nights the problem was solved.
And put a few car tyres on slats a good job too. Messy but works. Take them away when they are lying on cubicles. They wont find a good spot to lie on slats with a heap of tyres scattered about.
IBC tank works just the same
What happend the straight pipe ?
Great video can I ask why stand bales on the end now that new balers put plastic on before wrapping 🤔
More warp on the ends and if you not double or triple stack less space
taken up more protection agaist a hole if you up end on a stone of any thing might puncture them

My son and I love the content… keep it up…. You mentioned recycling silage pit tyres… where ? And how much €?
I don’t know yet, but I’ll keep updating on it as we make progress 👍

What lights would u recommend for a new 4 bay slatted shed with a lie back, LED of course but what size strength, brand, or floodlight ?
Well you can really go wrong with any led light, I wouldn’t really know much about the different types out there. You can get led inserts for some different Florescent housing. Save a few euro
How many plastics roughly would ya fit in the bin please
We have 25 in it so fare with 22 laps on each. I push it down with the loader so we’ll get a good few more into it.
Where would u bring the tyres to get recycled?
How many cows are you milking on the farm?
What silage wrap was used Aidan??
